Abstract

Research on the determination of calcium levels in purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) leaves has been carried out using the indirect complexometric titration method. Fresh purslane leaves were extracted using 3N HC1, dissolved calcium was added to an excess of 0.05 M NazEDTA solution and the excess Na EDTA was titrated with 0.05 M MgSO4 solution using an EBT indicator. Obtained calcium levels in fresh purslane leaves of 0.1503% w/w.

Abstract

Gel is a form of cosmetics, before being marketed cosmetics must pass a safety test. The safety test can be carried out using the patch test method, in which the test substance is attached to normal skin, then covered and carried out for 24 hours. Herb gotu kola has the property of accelerating wound healing. Centella asiatica herb extract was prepared by maceration method with 96% ethanol as a solvent and formulated in gel form using carbopol as a gelling agent. The preparations were made into 2 formulas with a ratio of formula 1 without extract and formula 2 using 12.5 mg extract. The irritation test was carried out on 20 volunteers consisting of men and women aged 20-35 years, each of which was attached to the test material formula 1 and formula 2. The test material was affixed for 4 hours to the upper arm of the volunteer closed and observed at 24 hours , 48, 72 hours after the test substance was released and the degree of irritation was calculated. All the test materials from the irritation test obtained a degree of irritation score of 0 which means that all the test ingredients are not irritating.

Abstract

Research has been carried out to test and determine the effects of ethanol extract of sapodilla pistil (Manilkara zapota L.) on the healing of cuts in male white mice. From the statistical tests that have been carried out, it results that the data is normally distributed which is calculated using the Liliford test, while the ANOVA test shows no significant difference between the test substance groups at 5% concentration, 10% concentration and 20% concentration, with the conclusion that the ethanol extract of sapodilla pistil has an effect on the healing of cuts and accelerates the healing of cuts at a concentration of 5% compared to 10% and 20%.

Abstract

Research on "Test the blood sugar lowering effect of the ethanol extract of karamunting leaves (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (ait.) Hassk.) Using the glucose tolerance method on male white mice" was carried out orally by measuring the blood sugar levels of mice every 30 minutes for 2 hours with doses of 3, 2mg, 1.6mg, and 0.8mg. The results of the study using the oral glucose tolerance test method showed that the effect of glucose tolerance from karamunting leaf extract at a dose of 3.2mg/20gBB averaged blood sugar levels after administration of 50% glucose from 294 mg/dl to 123mg/dl, a dose of 1.6mg/dl. 20gBB average blood sugar level after administration of glucose 50% from 269.33 mg/dl to 133.67 mg/dl, 0.8mg/20gBB average blood sugar level after administration of glucose 50% from 261.67mg/dl to 135mg/dl. From the data analysis carried out, it was found that the data were normally distributed and there was a homogeneous variance with a significant level = 0.05 and continued with a one-way anava test where ????ℎi????????????g 3.63 ≤ ???????????????????????? 4.07 which means there is no significant difference in the extract group karamunting leaf ethanol (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait.) Hassk.) It can be concluded that karamunting leaf ethanol extract is efficacious as an antidiabetic.

Abstract

Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L) has a number of health benefits. The benefits of rambutan that are good for health cannot be separated from the chemical content in it. One part of the rambutan plant that can be useful for health is the leaves. Based on the qualitative test using FeCl3 reagent showed the presence of tannins. The determination of tannin content was carried out by colorimetry using the standard series method. This method is based on a comparison of the intensity of the color of the sample solution with the color of the standard solution. Based on the research results, the tannin content contained in rambutan leaves is 1.5% w/w.
