Abstract

Creative village is an area located in a village/subdistrict administrative area where the community develops superior products in one or more of 17 creative economic sectors that provide additional value and benefits for village economic growth. In Ambon City, there are many countries/villages that have the potential to develop creative economic products, including Nania Village. Nania Village, especially Nania Gunung Village, has the potential to become a creative village, there are 19 families who own furniture businesses and are the center of furniture production in Ambon City. To increase the added value of the furniture business in Nania Gunung Village, it is necessary to encourage product innovation in the creative economy sub-sector, for example fine arts or high-value crafts. This service activity aims to provide understanding to the village government and business actors about the potential for developing small businesses in Nania Gunung Village through the creative economy sub-sector so that it can encourage the potential of Nania Village as a Creative Village. This community service activity is carried out using the door to door outreach method accompanied by observation, interviews and mentoring. The results of this activity are able to provide understanding to furniture business actors about product innovation so that some furniture business actors have used wood waste to make new craft products and have marketed products through the marketplace.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a high level of vulnerability to natural disasters. Based on the disaster risk index, the Maluku Islands have a fairly high level of tsunami disaster potential. Small islands are often places that are vulnerable to tsunami disasters. Therefore, community preparedness on small islands is very important in facing this potential disaster. The aim of this outreach is to provide knowledge about disaster preparedness from an early age. This activity is a form of community service through outreach. The results of this outreach activity teach students to anticipate disasters, act when a disaster occurs, and handle disasters. Children are classified as vulnerable to disaster management efforts and therefore require special efforts to improve basic knowledge about disasters.

Abstract

Socialization about compost making is important considering that cajuput leaf waste left over from distillation has slightly different characteristics compared to compost material that comes from leaves or other types of plant parts. This outreach aims to increase public knowledge about using leaf waste left over from distilling eucalyptus oil as raw material for making compost. The benefit is that the community can utilize wood waste left over from refining eucalyptus oil and reduce existing waste. The method used in this Community Service activity is in the form of socialization, before the activity begins, a pre-test is carried out to assess the initial knowledge of the socialization participants, then the socialization process consists of delivering material to the participants and continues with a discussion round. The activity closed by conducting a post-test on participants to assess the participants' final knowledge of the socialization material presented. The result of the socialization was an increase in the knowledge of the socialization participants regarding the use of waste leaves left over from refining cajuput oil. Participants can follow up this knowledge in the practice of using eucalyptus oil distillation leftover leaf waste in the eucalyptus oil refining business in the Social Forestry Business Group.

Abstract

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria, or PGPRs, are a type of bacteria that live in rhizospheres, or the areas of land near tomato plants. These bacteria can cause a variety of processes, such as the formation of nitrogen, the breakdown of fat, the synthesis of phytohormones, and the development of illnesses. The purpose of this nirlaba service is to provide information and resources that are required for pet owners and pertanian owners in order to produce and use PGPR locally and effectively. This is expected to improve tuna quality, increase tuna health, and result in more efficient use of pupuk. The training's outcome indicates that participants can create and use PGPR on their own effectively, increasing textile production on a global scale. This training also emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability and resiliency through the use of PGPR agents.

Abstract

Waai Village in Salahutu District, Central Maluku, is an area with diverse topography which poses challenges for agriculture and fisheries, such as soil erosion and landslides. To overcome this problem, an agroforestry system is implemented as a sustainable land management solution. This research aims to socialize and evaluate the implementation of agroforestry in Waai Village, with a focus on reducing erosion, increasing soil fertility, and diversifying community income. The implementation method involves lectures, presentations, practical training, and distribution of plant seeds. This activity was carried out on 11-12 August 2023 by the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University with the participation of the local community. An initial survey was conducted to understand soil conditions, slope and community knowledge about agroforestry. Lectures and presentations provide basic information and techniques for implementing agroforestry, while practical training introduces vegetative methods in growing agroforestry crops. The results of the activity show that the community has a high interest in implementing agroforestry, with a significant increase in understanding and skills. The evaluation shows a good level of satisfaction and strong commitment from the community to develop agroforestry systems. The implementation of agroforestry is expected to reduce erosion, increase soil fertility and diversify people's income through high-value products such as wood and fruit. Agroforestry offers an effective solution to overcome the problem of erosion and landslides in Waai Village, while improving the economic welfare and food security of the community.

Abstract

Dairy cows as milk-producing livestock will show their best performance if their maintenance management is carried out well. Good dairy cattle management can be done by referring to Good Dairy Farming Practice (GDFP). This service activity was carried out to increase the knowledge and skills of dairy farmers in Wesalo Village, Lalolae Village, East Kolaka Regency. The stages of this activity include: 1). activity preparation; 2. technical guidance on management of dairy cattle maintenance according to GDPP; 3. monitoring and evaluating activities. This activity is very beneficial for breeders in Wesalo Village because the breeders are new to and starting to raise dairy cattle. During the activity, the breeders were very active in discussing and enthusiastically listening to the speakers' presentations. Breeders are also very enthusiastic and focused on paying attention to the technical guidance provided during direct visits to the breeder's pen. Implementation of GDFP can be carried out by paying attention to aspects: 1). breeding and reproduction; 2). provision of feed and drinking water; 3). management; 4). cages and equipment; 5). livestock health and welfare. This community service activity closed with monitoring and evaluation to determine the level of understanding and help farmers who experience difficulties in raising dairy cattle. This activity can increase the knowledge and skills of farmers so they can maintain and develop dairy cows.
