Abstract

Lower back pain is a complaint that often occurs in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters. Back pain occurs due to changes in pregnancy hormones which increase levels of the hormone relaxin, this affects the flexibility of the ligament tissue which ultimately increases joint mobility in the pelvis and will have an impact on spinal and pelvic instability and cause discomfort. Based on a preliminary study at the Sumarorong Community Health Center, it was found that the number of pregnant women in the second trimester was 72 and 70 in the third trimester in the working area of the Sumarorong Community Health Center, Mamasa Regency. From this data, there were 22 (30%) pregnant women in the second trimester who experienced back pain, and there were 35 (30%) pregnant women in the second trimester. 50%) third trimester pregnant women experience back pain. Researchers are interested in conducting research on the factors that cause lower back pain in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters in the work area of the Sumarorong Community Health Center, Mamasa Regency in 2024. The research method used is a cross-sectional study. Conducted at the Sumarorong Community Health Center, Mamasa Regency in July – August 2024. Abstract

Pleural effusion is a pathological condition characterized by the accumulation of fluid in the pleural cavity, which can cause shortness of breath, chest pain, and other complications. This study aims to evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients diagnosed with pleural effusion using a case report approach. The assessment was conducted holistically, including interviews, observations, and physical examinations. The results show that nursing interventions combining respiratory physiotherapy, such as breathing exercises, mobilization, and patient education, along with medical care, are effective in reducing shortness of breath and improving chest expansion in patients. The management of pleural effusion involves a multidisciplinary approach, including early diagnosis through thoracentesis and imaging, as well as supportive therapies such as respiratory physiotherapy, pleural fluid drainage, and medical interventions tailored to the underlying etiology. This study also highlights the critical role of respiratory physiotherapy in accelerating patient recovery, including deep breathing exercises, chest mobilization, and posture correction. The evaluation indicates that, although the patient’s respiratory problems were not completely resolved, there was significant improvement in overall health status. This study underscores the importance of applying a multidisciplinary approach to improve the quality of life for patients with pleural effusion.

Abstract

Children's emotional development during childhood is a very important basis in forming attitudes, values and behavior in the future. Parenting styles play a very important role in the formation and emotional development of children. This research examines various types of parenting patterns applied by parents and their impact on children's psychological well-being. Based on literature analysis from ten journals, it was found that positive parenting styles, such as authoritative, can support the development of children's emotional regulation and self-confidence. On the other hand, authoritarian or permissive parenting can actually hinder a child's ability to express emotions in a healthy way. The results of this study show that early social experiences and a positive family environment greatly influence children's emotional development, which ultimately has an impact on their success in the future. This research highlights the importance of parental attention in implementing parenting patterns that support children's emotional

Abstract

Abstract

The determination of human skeletons and fragments has significant value from both a legal and humanitarian perspective, which generally includes the evaluation of teeth, bones, fingerprints, and genetic material. However, fingerprinting and DNA methods are not without their limitations. Sex determination is an important first step in biological profiling, which plays a role in victim matching. Research on sex identification using T12 vertebrae with Geometric Morphometric (GM) techniques is still relatively rare. The GM technique deeply explores the dimensions and shape of objects. This study used an analytic observational design with a retrospective cross-sectional approach, involving 100 CT scan samples from Dr. Kariadi Hospital. Gender was used as the independent variable, while size (centroid size) and shape (principal component) were the dependent variables. The results of independent t-test and Mann-Whitney analysis showed a significant difference in T12 vertebra size between men and women (p = 0.000), but not in shape (p = 0.439). Based on the GM technique, it was revealed that the difference in T12 vertebrae between men and women was in size, not shape.
