Abstract

The development of time has changed the types of diseases from infectious to non-communicable or degenerative such as asthma, cancer, stroke, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and hypertension that are influenced by lifestyle, nutrition, and physical activity. Insulin resistance or lack of pancreas triggers diabetes mellitus, causing hyperglycemia that damages the nervous system and blood vessels. International Diabetes Federation predictions show an increase in diabetes mellitus cases worldwide, including in Central Java, which ranks second only to hypertension. Diabetes mellitus can be identified through blood glucose monitoring and symptoms include hunger, thirst, and frequent urination. Risk factors for diabetes include age, genetics, obesity, inactivity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and poor nutrition. Prevention and management of diabetes can be done through family care that involves educators, counselors, and collaborators to help families manage the disease well. This study examines the nursing care of Mr. K's family. K with endocrine system disorders Diabetes Militus in Kalibuntu Village, Losari District, Brebes Regency, with the results of the patient's lack of understanding about diabetes and rarely doing exercise.

The results of the examination carried out before the butterfly hug therapy was given showed an average level of mild anxiety at a score of 47.30 and the results of the examination after being given butterfly hug therapy showed an average level of normal anxiety (not anxious) at a score of 31.90. Based on the characteristics of the respondents, the maximum age was 22 years. Bivariate results show that there is an influence of butterfly hug therapy on the level of anxiety in preparing theses among nursing students at Awal Bros University with an average difference before and after butterfly hug therapy of 15.4 with a P-Value of 0.000 (<0.05) . Abstract

The impact of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) on pregnant women includes a higher risk of delivering low birth weight (LBW) infants. This research employs a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional study design. The population and sample size consist of 42 individuals. Questionnaires are used for data collection. Data analysis employs the chi-square test. The results of the data analysis indicate a significant relationship between compliance in consuming supplementary food and weight gain among pregnant women with CED at Ratte Health Center, Tana Toraja Regency, with a p-value of 0.002, which is smaller than the α value of 0.05. It is recommended that health centers establish regular education programs focused on the nutritional needs of pregnant women with CED. Through these educational sessions, pregnant women can receive accurate and relevant information about the importance of supplementary food and its impact on health.

Abstract

Non -communicable disease (PTM) is one of the increasing health problems in society every year and contributes to the largest proportion of death worldwide. According to a global status report on non -communicable diseases, non -communicable diseases can occur due to lack of exercise, smoking and malnutrition, which causes increased blood pressure, increased blood sugar levels and increased blood lipids. If not prevented, this increase will get worse and lead to chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, dysplidemia, gout arthritis and obesity. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 40 million people worldwide suffer from non -communicable diseases, with the cause of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and injuries to be the main cause (Syam'ani, 2023).

Abstract

The thyroid gland is an endocrine organ that has a dual role in regulating the level of metabolism and regulates fat and carbohydrate metabolism. The shape resembles a butterfly and is the largest gland in the human body (Jamal & Maracilu, 2023). The thyroid gland is in the front of the neck just below the larynx and sticks to the trachea. This gland has two lobes, namely the right lobe and the left lobe that is connected by Isthmus which is a small piece of tissue (Arsana, 2023). The thyroid gland produces important hormones such as T4 and T3 needed by the body for metabolic functions. The production of this hormone depends on the intake of iodine from food and salt (Dewi et al., 2023).

Abstract

Fractures can lead to disabilities in individuals, which may result from trauma due to accident (Ramadhan & Pristianto, 2022)s. The purpose of this paper is to develop and apply nursing care for Mrs. M, who underwent post-operative hemiarthroplasty for a femoral neck fracture, in the Mawar 2 room at RSUD dr. Soeselo, Tegal Regency. This paper utilizes a descriptive method with a focus on the nursing process approach. The results of the nursing care show that the patient reports pain at the surgical site on the upper right leg, post-operative hemiarthroplasty, with pain described as a pulling sensation in the upper right leg, at a pain scale of 6, and continuous. The client states that she can only lie in bed, with all post-operative activities being assisted by family members. She also reports that she has not received health education on early mobilization and has limited understanding of early immobilization. The nursing diagnoses identified are acute pain, impaired physical mobility, and knowledge deficit. Interventions were based on the SIKI (Nursing Care Standards) and implementation followed the planned interventions. Upon evaluation, one diagnosis—knowledge deficit—was resolved, acute pain was partially resolved, and impaired physical mobility remained unresolved. The results of the nursing care are consistent with the theory. This paper aims to improve skills in providing nursing care.
