Abstract

This study aimed to determine the P.aeruginosa that causes infectionby molecular technique. Bacterial isolated and identificatedphenotypically and genotypically, and their antibiogram detection. Onehundred clinical specimens were collected from patients suffering fromdifferent clinical infections during the period from September 2024 toJanuary 2024 in AL-Sadder Medical city. The identification of theP.aeruginosa isolates depended on colonial morphology, microscopicexamination and biochemical tests. P.aeruginosa had the ability toproduce capsule, biofilm , adhesion, protease, bacteriocin, haemolysin,B-lactamase and gelatinase. Regard to molecular study 16 RNA geneappeared th at all isolates due to (100%) of P. aeruginosa isolatesTo conclusion that P. aeruginosa able to produce sever pathogenicitymarkers which responsible for pathogenicity of P.aeruginosa infections.

Abstract

Free radicals are unpaired electron molecules that are unstable and can attack important macromolecules causing cell damage in the body. Antioxidants themselves are compounds that can prevent oxidative reactions by free radicals. One of the plants that has the potential as an antioxidant is Walther indica. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity and determine the total flavonoid content of Waltheria indica stem extract. The method used in this study is the DPPH method which is used to determine antioxidant activity. The antioxidant activity of the Waltheria indica ethanol extract was obtained with an IC50 value of 148.7116 ± 2.061 with a moderate antioxidant category.

Abstract

In the 1970s bedbug infestation was thought to have disappeared, but since the 2000s, the appearance of bedbugs has been reported worldwide. Studies on bed bugs were carried out in several residential locations in Palangka Raya. This study aims to determine the existence of bed bugs in residential areas and the biological aspects of bed bugs. Survey and collection of bedbugs are carried out in densely populated areas. The results of the study showed that out of 20 houses observed, there were 2 houses that were identified with the presence of bed bugs. The only species of bed bug found is the, Cimex lecturarius. Bed bug infestation is observed in the beds. This shows that there is a potential for bed bugs to cause itching on the skin and allergic reactions in the occupants of the house. The population of bed bugs has the opportunity to spread to other residents' settlements.
