Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) in fostering digital marketing skills among higher education students. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates quantitative data from pre- and post-tests with qualitative insights obtained through interviews and focus groups. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' competencies, particularly in content creation, social media strategy, and data analysis. Key features—such as real-time simulations, gamification, and collaborative tools—played a vital role in enhancing learner engagement and practical application. Students also appreciated the flexibility of asynchronous learning and the opportunity to experience real-world scenarios. However, issues such as digital fatigue, motivational decline, and limited access in remote areas were identified as challenges. The study concludes that VLEs can serve as effective platforms for skill-based learning if supported by sound instructional design, consistent teaching presence, and adequate technological infrastructure. These results contribute to the broader discourse on digital education and provide actionable recommendations for improving online marketing instruction.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought innovations in higher education systems, including in microbiology education that demands conceptual understanding and independent skills. This article aims to systematically examine the influence of Smart Learning Environment (SLE), e-learning platforms, and wearable technologies on improving the learning independence of microbiology students. Through a literature study of various national and international scientific articles, it was found that the three technologies complement each other in creating an adaptive, interactive, and personalized learning ecosystem. SLE provides a data-based and artificial intelligence-based learning environment, e-learning platforms provide flexibility of access and multimedia content, while wearable technologies support real-time monitoring and feedback on learning. These findings provide a strong conceptual foundation for developing a digital learning model that encourages student learning autonomy in the field of microbiology. This article also formulates a hypothetical direction for further research based on educational technology in the life sciences.

Abstract

This article is a literature study that aims to examine the effect of the use of Virtual Lab, Gamification, and Augmented Reality (AR) on students' understanding of microbiology concepts. Along with the development of technology in the world of education, conventional learning methods have undergone significant transformations. Virtual Lab allows microbiology practicums to be carried out simulatively, Gamification encourages learning motivation through game elements, and AR visualizes complex microbiology objects interactively. This study collects and analyzes the results of previous studies that are relevant in the context of higher education. The results of the study show that the three technological approaches are generally able to improve students' understanding of microbiology concepts, increase interest in learning, and strengthen critical thinking skills. However, the success of its implementation is highly dependent on the readiness of the institution, the competence of lecturers, and the characteristics of students.

Abstract

This study focuses on PT. XYZ, a food and beverage company in Surabaya, which faces intense competition and complex market dynamics. The main objective of this study is to formulate an optimal marketing strategy through identification and analysis of the company's internal and external factors. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with SWOT analysis, as well as the preparation of IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary), EFAS (External Factor Analysis Summary), and SPACE (Strategic Position and Action Evaluation) matrices. SWOT analysis is used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of PT. XYZ. The IFAS and EFAS matrices help evaluate internal and external factors quantitatively, while the SPACE matrix is used to determine the company's strategic position and the most appropriate strategy, whether aggressive, defensive, conservative, or competitive. The results of the study indicate that PT. XYZ needs to utilize internal strengths and market opportunities optimally, while improving weaknesses and anticipating external threats, in order to increase competitiveness and business sustainability in the food and beverage industry.
