Abstract

The process of preparing thesis and thesis proposals certainly drains a lot of energy, time, and money, even not infrequently which is also emotionally draining so that students feel anxious and allow a feeling of laziness, anxiety to arise which leads to confusion in looking for other references and it is likely that in the eighth semester it is still at the stage of writing a thesis proposal. To be able to get through this anxiety, high self-confidence is needed in order to encourage individuals to always be enthusiastic in doing the final thesis project. The formulation of the problem in this study is Is there a relationship between the self-confidence of Islamic Psychology students and the completion of a thesis at the Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember State Islamic University? This research method uses quantitative methods with a correlational approach. The research sample was 63 students so that the entire population was sampled because the sample was below 100 or called a sampling technique using a census. Data collection techniques using observation and questionnaires/ questionnaires which contain a confidence scale and a thesis completion scale. The data analysis technique used in this study used Pearson's product moment correlation. The results of this study show a positive relationship between self-confidence and the completion of a thesis with a significance value of 0.000 and a correlation value of 0.743 which means that the higher the self-confidence of Islamic Psychology students, the higher the completion of the thesis. Then is accepted and is rejected. Abstract

Anxiety is a state of worry, nervousness, or fear when facing difficult situations and believing that something bad will happen to oneself. Self-efficacy and social anxiety are two interrelated concepts, where a belief gained from previous experiences provides self-evaluation in facing social situations and performance. Anxiety is also experienced by international students at UIN KHAS Jember. Based on the results of a survey, anxiety is a problem for international students at UIN KHAS Jember. The research questions in this study are: first, how much self-efficacy do international students at UIN KHAS Jember have? Second, how much social anxiety do international students at UIN KHAS Jember have? Third, is there a relationship between self-efficacy and social anxiety in international students at UIN KHAS Jember? The research method used in this study is correlational research. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling with a total sample of 240 obtained from questionnaire data. Data validity and reliability were tested. The response to each instrument item was measured using a Likert scale. The analysis method used was normality test, linearity test, and Pearson correlation test. The first result shows that more international students at UIN KHAS Jember have moderate self-efficacy than those with low self-efficacy. Meanwhile, more international students with moderate social anxiety than those with low social anxiety. The third result shows a correlation coefficient of -0.259 with sig. 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and social anxiety in international students at UIN KHAS Jember.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the many cases of Quarter Life Crisis (QLC) among students, including Islamic Psychology students at UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember. This is because student age is the age at which individuals face QLC and starts from early adulthood. At this time, some developmental problems that arise in the form of many choices that must be planned for life in the future. This more or less makes the individual think hard, worried, anxious, and does not even rule out the possibility of experiencing depression. To minimize the level of QLC, we need a good mindset known as husnudzon which is one of the religious deepening practices that have indicators that are contrary to QLC. great influence. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey type. The sampling technique used random sampling using the Slovin formula and obtained as many as 189 participants consisting of Islamic Psychology students at UIN KHAS Jember with an age range of 18-23 years. The instrument in the form of Husnuzan scale uses dimensions in IPTS (Islamic Positive Thinking Scale) whose items are compiled by researchers, and the QLC scale is adapted from Robbins & Wilner's theory. This scale has been through a validity test with the results of the overall item r count > r table (r table of 0.1420 for = 5%). The results of the scale reliability test were declared reliable, indicated by the Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.785. The analysis of this research uses the formula of Simple Linear Regression Analysis. The results showed that there was a very low negative effect of the Husnuzan variabel on the QLC of 8.4%.
