Abstract

SMK TPI Gedangan Sidoarjo is one of the private high schools in Sidoarjo that offers 3 expertise programs, namely Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering, and Software Engineering (RPL). These programs are designed to equip students with practical skills that are in accordance with the needs of industry and the world of work. With the vision of the school is to produce middle-class workers who are ready to enter society, industry, and become independent entrepreneurs, have a global perspective, have noble character, and can apply themselves. On the other hand, many vocational schools have not provided systematic guidance or practical curriculum on the use of various types of social media for business promotion purposes. In order to improve the quality of students, 28 students were sent to learn about how to promote MSME products through social media. This training aims to explore how vocational schools can effectively utilize social media to promote their MSME products by recognizing the differences in characteristics and functions of each platform. With this approach, patterns of social media usage that are right on target can be found as well as training or mentoring strategies that are in accordance with student needs. The results of this training can be a reference for developing relevant and applicable digital marketing learning modules in the vocational high school environment. The results of participant feedback at the end of the training showed that 91% of students could understand the material provided and the trainer could provide effective UMKM product promotion solutions according to the current needs of students.

Abstract

Digital marketing plays a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the extent of digital marketing implementation by MSMEs in Sinarsari Village and to design strategies for improving entrepreneurs' capabilities in optimizing digital marketing. The research uses a mixed-method approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings reveal that most MSMEs have utilized digital platforms such as social media, messaging apps, and online marketplaces to promote their products. The implementation of digital marketing has proven effective in increasing product visibility, expanding market reach, boosting sales, and improving income. However, several challenges remain, including limited technological knowledge and a lack of understanding of effective branding. Therefore, training programs and mentoring are necessary to help MSME actors optimize their digital marketing strategies. With a more strategic and effective application of digital marketing, MSMEs can grow sustainably and strengthen their position in both the local and national economy.

Abstract

Lake Toba, designated as a National Tourism Strategic Area, faces ecological disruption due to the invasive Red Devil fish (Amphilophus labiatus), which threatens the sustainability of native aquatic species. This study aims to enhance the knowledge of the Tapian Nauli farmer group in Hariara Pohan Village, Samosir Regency, in utilizing the Red Devil fish as Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and processed food. Methods employed include agricultural extension activities, practical demonstrations, pre-tests and post-tests, and evaluation through questionnaires. Results showed a significant improvement in farmers' knowledge after the extension, with 70% moving from the "poor" to "good" category. The Red Devil fish was successfully processed into LOF through fermentation using molasses, starbio, and pineapple, and into shredded fish (abon) as a food product. Farmers responded positively to the idea of Red Devil abon as a potential household business opportunity, given the fish's abundance and low cost. Evaluation of the extension activities revealed a high level of suitability with an average score of 96.33%, covering material content, delivery methods, and instructional media. This study demonstrates that locally based extension approaches can effectively empower farmers to convert invasive pests into value-added products, while fostering economic opportunities rooted in local resources.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by infection with bacteria from the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex group. TB prevention efforts are crucial, especially for individuals at high risk of exposure, to disrupt the chain of transmission of this disease. The intervention aimed to increase community understanding of TOSS TB (Find, Treat, Treat Until Cured) so that it can be applied in daily life. It is expected that after the intervention, participants' knowledge will increase, as will their ability to demonstrate the practices taught appropriately. Data collection was conducted through a mini-survey of the community in the local Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Blum Paradigm to identify factors contributing to the problem. Problem prioritization was carried out using the non-scoring Delphi method, while root cause analysis was conducted using a fishbone diagram. During the intervention process, pre- and post-tests were conducted to evaluate changes in the level of knowledge of villagers before and after the intervention. For program monitoring and evaluation, the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle approach and a systems approach were used. The analysis using the Blum Paradigm showed that lifestyle was the primary contributing factor to the problem. After the intervention, three participants were able to repeat the material effectively, demonstrating a better understanding of TB prevention. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the intervention was successful and is expected to encourage improvements in public health in the village. Furthermore, this program is also expected to serve as a model for other public health interventions, thereby expanding the positive impact of TB control efforts in other areas. Thus, public awareness and knowledge about TB can continue to increase, which in turn will contribute to reducing TB incidence in Indonesia and improving the overall quality of life of the community.

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a processed coconut product with high economic and health value. VCO production is known to be relatively easy, inexpensive, and capable of producing high-quality oil rich in benefits, including as a traditional medicine and natural ingredient for beauty and health. This community service activity aims to provide students of the Biology Education Study Program at Buton Muslim University with an understanding and practical skills regarding the VCO production process as a form of utilization of local natural resources, especially coconuts. The methods used in this activity include lectures or delivery of theoretical material, interactive discussions on the content and benefits of VCO, and direct practice in making virgin coconut oil using the settling method. This method was chosen because it does not require complicated equipment, does not use excessive heating, and is able to maintain the natural quality of the resulting oil. During the implementation, students are invited to observe and follow the entire process, from selecting good coconut raw materials, the grating process, squeezing coconut milk, natural fermentation through settling, to the process of separating oil from sediment and filtering. The results of this activity demonstrated that students not only understood the concept and theory of VCO production but also produced 1,500 ml of virgin coconut oil packaged in five 300 ml bottles. The VCO was then sold to the public for approximately Rp 30,000 per bottle. Through this activity, students not only gained contextual learning experiences but also developed insights into sustainable, locally-based entrepreneurship.
