Abstract

Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) is one of the superior plantation commodities that has a huge potential in Indonesia. Rubber development is centered on the areas with rainfall 2500-4000 mm / year. In that area the rubber faces a lot of land competition issues and also the disease that need to maximize the potential of the low annual rainfall area. This research was conducted on citizen plantations in  Aek Godang village, Sihapas Hulu, North Padang Lawas , on March-April 2016, aimed to test the influence of giving mycorrhiza to Osmoregulation PB260 clone rubber seedlings on lands with drought stress that has given an organic matter. This research using random sampling in non-factorial, with mycorrhiza treatment with M symbol that consists of 3 levels ; M0 = without mycorrhiza, M1 = Acaulospora 100g / plant,M2 = Glomus + Acaulospora (1: 1) 100g / plant, with each level of treatment has 9 reiteration. The Variables observed were consist of leaf water potential, osmotic pressure and turgor pressure. The results showed that the distribution of mycorrhiza has a significant effect on the improvement of leaf water potential, but it has no a significant effect on the improvement of turgor pressure of rubber plant.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study to know effect of some ameliorants by toba plateau peat’s chemical characteristic for growth and production Ciherang. The study was conducted at greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara and analysed at PT.Socfin Indonesia and Laboratories Research and Technology. This research used randomized block design non factorial with eight treatments there were G0 (control), G1 (volcanic ash 250 g / pot), G2 steel slag 50 g / pot), G3 (seawater 250 ml / pot), G4 (volcanic ash 250 g + steel slag 50 g / pot), G5 (volcanic ash 250 g + seawater 250 ml / pot), G6 (steel slag 50 g + seawater 250 ml / pot), G7 (volcanic ash 250 g + steel slag 50 g + sea water 250 ml / pot) with three replications. The results showed ameliorant steel slag 50 g increased the soil up to pH 4:35, combinations volcanic ash 250 g and the steel slag 50 g increased the electrical conductivity up to 0,194 mmhos/cm and combination of volcanic ash 250 g and the 50 g of steel slag increased rice growth there are toba highland peat 107,3 cm in height, 25 clumps in number of vegetatif and generatif tillers and reduce the percentage of empty grain up to 78.73%, %, and aplication combination ameliorant volcanic ash 250 g with 50 g of steel slag as well as sea water 250 ml increase the production of rice plants / pots and grain weight 1000 grain with the value of each 24.12 grams and 21.47 grams Top of Form   Keywords: Highland Toba peat, Rice Ciherang variety, Seawater, Steel slag, Volcanic ash

Abstract

A pot trial at the screen house of College of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera was carried out to evaluate the effects of varied levels of chicken manure and lime of CaCO3 towards a number of soil chemical properties and corn growth on Inceptisol of Kwala Bekala. The trial was 3 x 3 factorial arranged in a randomized complete block design. Treatments included three levels of chicken manure: 0, 5 and 10 t/ha and three levels of lime and three replications to meet 27 experimental units, respectively. The results showed that 10 t/ha of chicken manure significantly increased the availability of phosphorus in soil and also the absorption of phosphorus by plants. The results also showed that at 4.47 t/ha lime of CaCO3 significantly increased the soil pH. However, there was no interaction effect between chicken manure and lime of CaCO3. Abstract

Rubber is one of the biggest commodity plantation featured in Indonesia. The development of the rubber is centered on the area with precipitation 2500-4000 mm/year. On the area of the rubber exposed to the many problem of competition for land and many attacks of the disease so that need to maximize the potential of the area which low rainfall. But also the area has its own problem especially absorption  hara. One effort that can be to resolve the issue is the giving of mycorrhiza and organic materials to increase absorbtion hara on such plants.This research had been conducted populate plantation in the village of Aek Godang, district of Hulu Siapas, regency of Padang Lawas Utara, North Sumatera. In the month March until Juli 2016. Aimed to the test the influence of mycorrhiza toward absorption of Nitrogen (N) and Phosporus (P) the seeds application of the rubber clone PB 260 on the land with the strees of the drought that has been given organic material. Method of this research was non factorial random sampling block design with three treatments, that was M0: Without Mycorrhiza, M1: Accaulospora 100g/Plant, M2 : Glomus+Acaulospora (1:1) 100g/Plant with every treatment there was 10 replicant of the experiment showed that application mycorrhiza enhanced the increase absorption N and P compared to the not aplication mycorrhiza. Abstract

Produksi kedelai yang semakin menurun tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kedelai di Indonesia, salah satu penyebab utamanya yaitu semakin sempitnya lahan pertanian. Untuk meningkatkan produksi kedelai di Indonesia dapat ditempuh dengan cara perluasan areal tanam, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan tanah yang berpotensi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah plastik Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan dengan ketinggian tempat +32 meter di atas permukaan laut dari bulan Agustus 2016 sampai November 2016, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama adalah  cekaman kekeringan dengan 3 taraf yaitu KL 80% ; KL 60% ; KL 40% dan faktor kedua adalah pemberian antioksidan dengan 3macam yaitu tanpa antioksidan asam salisilat (500ppm) dan asam askorbat (500ppm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan cekaman kekeringan berpengaruh nyata terhadap total luas daun, polong berisi pertanaman, bobot kering biji pertanaman, dan bobot kering 100 biji. Perlakuan pemberian antioksidan berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter klorofil a, klorofil b, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, bobot kering biji per tanaman, dan bobot kering 100 biji. Interaksi perlakuan cekaman kekeringan dan antioksidan berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter bobot kering biji per tanaman dan bobot kering biji per tanaman.   Kata kunci : antioksidan, cekaman kekeringan, kedelai

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektifitas pengendalian rumput belulang (E.indica) dengan herbisida Indaziflam, Paraquat, Glifosat + Metil metsufuron pada tanaman karet belum menghasilkan (TBM). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2016 sampai Januari 2017, dengan melakukan 2 unit penelitian, unit pertama yaitu aplikasi berbagai herbisida Glifosat 720 g b.a/ha, Paraquat 300 g b.a/ha, Indaziflam 100 g b.a/ha, dan Glifosat 720 g b./ha + Metil metsufuron 15 g b.a/ha dengan petak percobaan sebesar 3 x 10 m dan petak pengamatan 1 x 1 m sebanyak 3 ulangan. Unit kedua yaitu penumbuhan seedbank di Lahan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara. Hasilnya adalah pengendalian E.indica terbaik yaitu didapat pada herbisida indaziflam 100 g b.a/ha dan menghasilkan mortalitas tertinggi 100%. Sedangkan jenis seedbank yang banyak tumbuh dari setiap pengendalian yaitu adalah E.indica dan Kyllinga monocephala.Kata kunci : E.indica, herbisida, karet, resistan dan seedbank

Abstract

In order to get a good seed, the source of planting material usually uses 6 - 8 months. Storage of  sugarcane bud set aims to maintain the viability of the seeds as long as the bud set is not ready for planting. This research was conducted on the land of the Agriculture Faculty, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan in April - July 2017, using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e. age of planting material (6, 7, and 8 months) and storage periods (24, 48, 72 hours). The results showed that 7 months planting material gave the best plant lenght and seeds diameter. Using 7 months planting material with 72 hours storage periods gave best shoot growth percentage.
