The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, the teacher applied the lecture method to explain the material, followed by group discussions to improve students' understanding and engagement. In the second cycle, the results of the first cycle reflection were used as the basis for modification and improvement of actions in learning. Abstract

This research aims to explore social interactions among Gen-Z teenagers in Rante Besi Village, Gunung Sitember Sub-district, Dairi Regency. The method used in this research is a case study with a qualitative approach. Primary data was obtained from interviews with a number of religious leaders, teenagers, and the local community, while secondary data was collected through literature review. The results show that social interactions between teenagers, especially those involving friends from different religious backgrounds, have an influence on the understanding and practice of religion among teenagers. The implication of this finding is the need for families and schools to play a more active role in providing attention and support for the practice of religion among adolescents, as well as creating space for strengthening spiritual values.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Islamic religious education in broken home families and parents' efforts in teaching religious values to their children. Through a qualitative approach with interviews with several mothers from broken home families, this study identified various efforts made by parents in instilling Islamic religious education. The findings show that despite emotional challenges and limited resources, parents still try to teach Islamic religious education through examples of good behavior and activities such as prayer, Quran recitation, and the cultivation of noble morals. The findings also reveal the importance of parents' emotional support and consistency in educating their children, especially in situations where the family is not intact.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of the Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable Learning (PAIKEM) strategy on students' learning outcomes in Fiqh Thaharah at MTs Nurul Iman Tanjung Morawa. The study used a quantitative field-research approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 60 students. Data were gathered through observation, tests, and supporting documentation, while the learning intervention emphasized student-centered discussion, participation, and contextual engagement with purification material. The findings show that students' post-intervention achievement was high, with 87.5% of students classified in the “very good” category and a mean score of 84.6. The statistical analysis also indicated that the data met the normality and homogeneity assumptions, and the hypothesis test showed a significant effect of the PAIKEM strategy on learning outcomes (t = 2.81 > 1.67). These results suggest that PAIKEM contributes positively to Fiqh learning because it increases participation, reduces monotony, and supports meaningful understanding of practical religious material. The study concludes that PAIKEM is a relevant instructional strategy for Fiqh Thaharah learning in madrasah settings, although its effectiveness should be supported by teacher readiness, instructional media, and a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the transformation of religious pedagogy through the implementation of inquiry-based learning in the teaching of Aqidah Akhlak. The study addresses the persistent issues of rote memorization and passive learning in madrasahs, which frequently fail to cultivate critical moral reasoning. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected at a junior high school (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) in North Sumatra through interviews with subject teachers and field observations. The findings demonstrate that although students initially encountered difficulties with hypothesis formulation and data analysis, consistent procedural inquiry stimulated significant cognitive engagement and reflective thinking. The study identifies teacher competence and evocative stimulation as crucial catalysts, while cognitive disparities among students serve as a primary barrier. Theoretically, this research proposes that inquiry-based learning reactualizes the Islamic tradition of critical reasoning (ijtihad), bridging the gap between theological dogma and modern constructivist education. The results suggest that fostering an "inquisitive soul" is essential for developing a resilient religious identity within a contemporary context.

Abstract

Qur'an-Hadith learning in madrasahs still faces multiple constraints that hinder the optimal achievement of Islamic educational goals. While madrasahs are expected to nurture students who are religious, morally grounded, and competent in reading the Qur'an, empirical conditions often reveal persistent barriers related to teaching materials, curriculum design, instructional methods, student background, and school facilities. This study aims to portray the problematics of Qur'an-Hadith learning at MTs Amin Darussalam and to identify the factors that sustain these challenges. Using a qualitative case-study design, data were collected through open and closed interviews with teachers, students, the principal, and parents, and were strengthened by observation and a review of relevant literature. Data were analysed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the main problems include students' difficulties in understanding tajwid, a curriculum that is not yet differentiated, limited instructional time, the dominance of lecture-based teaching, weak basic Qur'anic reading skills among some students, limited family support, and inadequate learning facilities. These findings confirm that the problematics of Qur'an-Hadith learning are multidimensional and require coordinated responses from schools, teachers, parents, and policy makers.
