Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between teacher-student communication patterns and students' learning motivation in physics learning among 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Sinunukan. The research is based on the importance of effective communication in creating a conducive learning environment, especially in physics, a subject often perceived as difficult by students. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 31 selected 11th-grade students. The results of the data analysis show a significant and positive relationship between teacher-student communication patterns and students' learning motivation, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.870 and a significance value (p) of 0.000. Furthermore, teacher-student communication patterns account for 75.6% of the variance in students' learning motivation. These findings highlight that open, empathetic, and two-way communication between teachers and students greatly contributes to enhancing students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning, particularly in challenging subjects like physics. This study is expected to offer practical insights for teachers in developing more interactive and effective communication strategies to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Physics learning is often considered difficult and boring by students, which impacts their low learning motivation and active engagement in class. Students' communication skills and attitudes are important factors that can influence the success of physics learning. This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' communication skills and their attitudes toward physics learning at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok Grade X. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consists of all Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Dolok with a saturated sample of 30 students. The research instruments include a communication skills questionnaire (30 items) and an attitude toward physics learning questionnaire (24 items) using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation test with SPSS 17. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant and strong relationship between students' communication skills and their attitudes toward physics learning. Improvement in communication skills can contribute to the formation of positive attitudes among students in physics learning. This can be seen from the R Square value of 0.630, indicating that communication skills contribute 63% to students' attitudes in physics learning.

Abstract

In the process of learning physics, it usually requires a lot of practice so that media needs to be displayed to make it easier for students to understand. Education that develops all students' potential harmoniously and comprehensively, emphasizing problem-solving skills not only supports students' academic learning, but also prepares them to face the dynamics of the digital era. The purpose of this study was to determine how the influence of YouTube-based digital literacy on problem-solving abilities in physics learning in class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Sibolga. In this study, the researcher used a quantitative experimental research method by selecting a sample of class XI MIA 1 as the control class and class XI MIA2 as the experimental class. From the results of the pretest and posttest in the control and experimental classes, the level of physics problem-solving abilities of the two classes was still very low, which can be seen from the average value and KKM of each class. However, after the learning process, the level of students' ability to solve physics problems increased for each class, but the most significant increase was especially in the experimental class that implemented YouTube-based digital literacy, which was 22.99%. The results of the statistical test showed that tcount 4.55> ttable 1.68, for a significance level of 95% and α = 0.05 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This shows that the use of YouTube-based digital literacy media in learning fluid theory material can improve students' abilities in solving physics problems. The increase in students who have KKM in the control class is 38.89% and in the experimental class is 42.85. It can be concluded that the application of YouTube-based digital literacy to the physics problem-solving abilities of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Sibolga on Fluid subject matter is much more influential than conventional learning.. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between student engagement in physics learning and the academic achievement of Grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak Julu. The research employs a quantitative correlational design, involving 32 students as respondents. Student engagement data were measured using a validated questionnaire, while academic achievement was assessed through performance tests. The analysis results indicate an average student engagement score of 78.22, with the majority of students categorized as moderate. The average physics learning achievement score was 81.91, reflecting good performance. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.712 with a significance value of 0.018, indicating a significant positive relationship between student engagement and physics learning outcomes. These findings emphasize the importance of active student participation in enhancing academic performance. This research is expected to provide insights for teachers in designing more effective learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of scientific attitudes to understanding concepts in the Material of Temperature and Its Changes in Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Barat for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. The formulation of the problem in the research conducted is whether there is a correlation between scientific attitudes towards understanding the concept on the Material of Temperature and Its Changes in Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Barat for the 2023-2024 Academic Year?. This research method uses a type of quantitative research with a correlation research type. The sample used was 30 students at Class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. The instrument used for scientific attitude using a questionnaire with a Likert scale and understanding of concepts is the result of student exams using temperature and its changes. Data analysis techniques using normality test, homogeneity test, linearity test. And test the hypothesis using the correlation test. The results showed that there was a relationship between scientific attitude and conceptual understanding of the material temperature and its changes in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola Barat.
