Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of Elementary School (SD) teachers in compiling teaching materials containing local wisdom as an effort to contextualize learning. The background of this activity is the low integration of local values in the learning process which causes a lack of relevance of teaching materials to the environment of students. This training was carried out at GMIT Kuanino 1 Elementary School, Kupang City, which has a wealth of local culture such as the tradition of ikat weaving, folklore, and the values of the lives of the people of East Nusa Tenggara. The method of implementing the activity consists of the stages of socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The training materials include identification of local potential, techniques for integrating local wisdom into lesson plans and teaching modules, and the practice of compiling teaching materials based on the Merdeka Curriculum. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the importance of local wisdom in learning and their ability to compile contextual teaching materials. Thus, this training makes a positive contribution to strengthening local cultural identity in education and increasing student involvement in the learning process. This activity also encourages teachers to become agents of cultural preservation through educational activities that are relevant to students' daily lives.

Abstract

Early childhood education is an important foundation in building cognitive abilities, including early mathematics skills. However, many PAUD teachers in Bandar Lampung City still face difficulties in developing innovative and contextual mathematics learning models. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of early mathematics learning model development training for PAUD teachers and evaluate changes in their learning practices. The implementation method is participatory training and direct practice with a lesson study approach and collective reflection. This activity involved 30 PAUD teachers from various sub-districts in Bandar Lampung City. The results of the training showed that teachers experienced significant improvements in their ability to design mathematics learning based on games, the surrounding environment, and thematic approaches. Most participants admitted to being more confident and creative in delivering mathematics materials to early childhood. This finding shows that training that is applicative and collaborative can encourage learning innovations that are in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood. Abstract

Early childhood social skills are an important foundation for children's success in socializing, learning, and building relationships in the future. In underdeveloped areas such as Mata Usu District, Bombana Regency, children experience limitations in developing social skills due to low access to quality education, lack of PAUD teacher training, and minimal parental participation. This community service aims to implement a restorative program as an educational approach to improving early childhood social skills. The implementation method includes identifying problems, training teachers and parents on the restorative approach, implementing role-playing and children's dialogue activities, and evaluating the results. The activity was carried out in one of the underdeveloped villages in Mata Usu District for two months. The results of the service showed a significant increase in children's social skills such as empathy, communication, and peaceful conflict resolution. Teachers and parents also showed increased understanding and involvement in guiding children with a restorative approach. This program shows that an empathy and communication-based approach is effective in areas with limited resources. Policy support and further training are needed so that this approach can be implemented sustainably in all PAUDs in Mata Usu District.

Abstract

The ability to write poetry is an important part of learning Indonesian language and literature because it supports the development of self-expression, creativity, and language skills. However, in reality, many junior high school students still have difficulty expressing their ideas and feelings in the form of communicative and meaningful poetry. This community service activity aims to provide poetry writing training to students of Muhammadiyah Rappang Junior High School through an expressive approach. This approach emphasizes students' freedom to express their thoughts, emotions, and personal experiences into poetry. The method of implementing the activity includes counseling, poetry writing practice, and joint reflection. The results of the training showed an increase in students' interest and ability in writing poetry. Students become more confident in expressing inner experiences through more varied diction, imagery, and language styles. In addition, the expressive approach encourages an inclusive and participatory learning atmosphere. Thus, this training not only improves poetry writing skills, but also builds students' emotional and aesthetic awareness. This activity is expected to be a model of literacy activities that can be applied in other schools in order to strengthen character education and artistic expression.

Abstract

The professionalism of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers is one of the important factors in ensuring the quality of early childhood education. One indicator of this professionalism is the teacher's ability to conduct comprehensive and continuous assessments of child development. However, many PAUD teachers still have difficulty understanding the techniques, instruments, and implementation of child development assessments in accordance with the applicable curriculum. This community service aims to improve the competence of teachers in Anduonohu sub-district in conducting early childhood development assessments through structured training activities. The implementation method for this activity includes the preparation stage, training implementation, and evaluation. The training activities were carried out for two days with a participatory approach that combined interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and simulations of the use of assessment formats. The results of the activity showed that the teachers experienced a significant increase in understanding in compiling and using child development assessment instruments, such as anecdotal notes, development checklists, and portfolios. In addition, teachers were able to identify aspects of child development more precisely, and to make systematic records. Abstract

Civic values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, discipline, and love of the homeland need to be instilled from an early age through a contextual and enjoyable approach. One effective approach is through musical arts that are universal and easily accepted by children. This community service program aims to provide musical arts training to elementary school teachers and students as a learning medium that can strengthen civic values. This activity was carried out at SD Negeri 1 Mawasangka, Central Buton Regency, involving 1 teacher and 30 students in grades IV and V. The training methods included workshops, practicing creating national-themed songs, and collaborative music performances between teachers and students. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the integration of musical arts in PPKn learning as well as an increase in students' active participation in expressing civic values through music. The songs created by students contain messages of unity, love for the environment, and tolerance that show a good understanding of civic material. This activity also succeeded in building emotional closeness between teachers and students through creative interactions. Thus, this training can be a model for strengthening civic character based on art that is applicable and relevant to elementary education. It is expected that this program can be replicated in other schools as a form of character education innovation through a local arts and culture approach.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen moral character among elementary school students through drama-based learning. Conducted at MIN 3 Metro, the program involved 25 fifth-grade students and utilized participatory methods, including role-playing, scriptwriting, and drama performances. The activities were designed to enhance emotional intelligence, moral reasoning, and understanding of Pancasila values through experiential learning. Results showed significant improvements: a 72% increase in emotional recognition skills, an 80% reduction in bullying incidents, and 92% of student groups successfully integrating Pancasila principles into their scripts. Qualitative observations revealed profound personal transformations, such as increased confidence in shy students and improved conflict-resolution skills. The program also fostered unexpected outcomes, including the discovery of hidden talents and stronger peer collaboration. Key success factors included student-centered creative processes, simple technological integration for reflection, and strong collaboration with teachers. Challenges such as time constraints were overcome through innovative solutions like "whisper theater" techniques. This initiative demonstrates that drama-based methods can effectively bridge the gap between moral knowledge and real-life application, suggesting its potential for broader implementation in character education programs.
