Abstract

Ecobrick is waste management method in which plastic bottles are filled withinorganic waste until they are solid and compact, aiming to reduce plasticwaste and recycle it into something useful. This activity was carried out in theCitarum River Basin, Karawang Regency, West Java Province, from October2018 January 2019, as part of Citarum Harum program. The programincluded Ecobrick creation training to support river water cleaning efforts.Observations were conducted through field surveys, interviews, and FGD,with evaluations using questionnaires before and after socialization. Theresults showed that while participants not directly dispose of waste into theriver, they still accumulated waste in vacant land around their homes. Thesocialization increased participants' knowledge of the benefits of Ecobricks forenvironmental cleanliness and encouraged them to be more active in creatingEcobricks and maintaining cleanliness. The program also raised awarenessabout the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly waste management.

Abstract

Elementary education caters to children aged 7 to 13, focusing on developingskills based on the curriculum, regional potential, and local socio-culturalcontexts. At SD 03 Pagi Cipulir, students are trained in various subjects, bothcurricular and extracurricular, alongside promoting a healthy lifestyle.Elementary schools are considered centers of education, with learning takingplace not only in classrooms but also outside, in activities such as teachingabout cleanliness and environmental health. Students receive training on theimportance of personal hygiene and maintaining a clean environment, aimingto instill good ethics toward their surroundings. By incorporatingenvironmental education early on, it is expected that students will carry thesevalues into the future. This approach is intended to positively impact thestudents of SD 03 Pagi Cipulir, South Kebayoran Lama, and to raiseawareness of environmental cleanliness within the broader community,fostering a sustainable, healthier, and environmentally-conscious future for allgenerations now.

Abstract

The Citarum watershed, the largest in West Java, has experienced severepressure due to exploitation exceeding its carrying capacity. Therefore,managing the Citarum watershed cannot be done sectorally, but must beintegrated and inclusive of all stakeholders, both within and outsidewatershed, to achieve sustainable development. This requires support fromvarious parties, including academics, by promoting outreach activities. Theimplementation methods include observation, introduction, water qualitytesting, outreach sessions, evaluation, consultation and mentoring, as wellmonitoring. Pre-outreach questionnaire results showed that 70% ofparticipants were aware the impacts of waste and pollution on river life. Allparticipants expressed a desire to maintain the cleanliness of Citarum River,yet only 13% had actively taken part in river clean-up activities. Overall, thepre-outreach findings suggest that while awareness exists, communityparticipation in environmental actions especially in keeping the river cleanremains limited and needs to be increased through continuous education andengagement.

Abstract

The objective of this Community Service activity is to improve the understanding and ability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in calculating, paying, and reporting final taxes in accordance with applicable tax regulations. The activity was conducted in the RT002/02 neighborhood of North Kebayoran Lama, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, and was attended by 14 small-scale traders who operate independently. The outreach used an interactive lecture method aimed at delivering direct and practical understanding to participants. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a T-Test or Paired Samples Test to measure differences in participants’ understanding before and after the outreach. The results indicate a significant increase in participants' knowledge regarding their tax obligations. This shows that the outreach was effective in enhancing the tax literacy of MSME actors, improving their compliance with tax reporting requirements, and supporting the legal and administrative sustainability of their businesses in the long term.

Abstract

Not many orphanages provide proper skills training or effectively showcase the potential of their children to the public. Limited resources and lack of exposure often hinder the children's ability to grow and acquire knowledge beyond their environment. At the Media Kasih Foundation in Tangerang, the children are interested in expressing themselves through social media and digital broadcasting. However, they lack adequate skills, especially in public speaking and audio-visual content production. To address this, the Community Service Team from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Satya Negara Indonesia University (USNI) conducted a training program on digital broadcasting, vlogging, and online radio streaming. The program targets teenagers at junior high, senior high, and college levels, focusing on basic digital production techniques and the creation of creative, educational content. The outcome is video and audio content uploaded to platforms like YouTube and social radio apps such as Spoon.
