Abstract

This study aims to describe parenting patterns in educating the emotional development of early childhood at PAUD Al-Amin Lubuk Alung and identify the role of the family and school environment in shaping children's social-emotional abilities. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of teachers, parents, and students at PAUD Al-Amin. The results show that the emotional development of early childhood is strongly influenced by the parenting patterns applied by parents. Children who receive democratic parenting patterns show better abilities in recognizing and managing emotions, empathizing, and interacting socially positively. Meanwhile, children who are raised with an authoritarian pattern tend to have difficulties in controlling emotions and behave aggressively. The family and school environment play an important role in providing positive examples and habits to support children's social-emotional development. This study concludes that the synergy between appropriate parenting patterns, open communication within the family, and a supportive school environment is a key factor in shaping the emotional character of early childhood that is healthy and balanced.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the author's observations at Kasih Bunda Salareh Aia Kindergarten, where the snakes and ladders game has been implemented as part of early childhood learning activities. However, there are not many studies that discuss in depth the role of teachers in optimizing the benefits of this game for children's cognitive development. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of the snakes and ladders game in children aged 5–6 years. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data sources consist of primary data (observation results, interviews, and documentation) and secondary data (documents and photos of activities in the school environment). Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the snakes and ladders game at Kasih Bunda Salareh Aia Kindergarten is used as a fun, interactive, and educational learning medium, helping children develop cognitive, social-emotional, and motor skills. Children become more understanding of the concepts of numbers, sequences, and strategic thinking, and are able to solve simple problems. Teachers play an important role in integrating games into the learning process, creating a meaningful learning atmosphere, and guiding children to learn while playing enthusiastically.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' efforts to improve the self-confidence of early childhood through storytelling methods at TK IT Ar Rahmah Plus Al Qur'an. The background of this study is based on the continued discovery of children who lack self-confidence, have difficulty communicating and interacting socially, and limited teacher creativity in implementing interesting learning methods. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of one class teacher and the principal, as well as research subjects of 22 students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The learning process using the storytelling method includes three main stages: initial activities, core activities (pre-, during, and post-storytelling), and closing activities. The results of the study indicate that the storytelling method is effective in improving children's self-confidence. Improvements are seen when children begin to dare to speak in front of the class, answer teacher questions, and retell the story with increased expression and enthusiasm. Storytelling activities encourage children to express themselves, communicate verbally, and interact with peers more confidently. Thus, the storytelling method has proven to be an effective learning strategy in fostering self-confidence in early childhood.

Abstract

Language development in early childhood is a fundamental aspect that influences children's communication, cognitive, and social abilities. The school environment plays an important role in supporting the language acquisition process through educational interactions, adequate facilities, and interactive learning methods. This research was conducted at Yappega Gantung Ciri Islamic Kindergarten, Solok Regency, which is known for its integration of character-based learning and local wisdom. This study aims to describe the forms of communication and social interactions that influence early childhood language development, as well as to identify the factors that influence it. The method used is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with the principal and four teachers using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study indicate that children's language development is influenced by: (1) the provision of a stimulus-rich learning environment such as a reading corner and interactive media; (2) the implementation of active learning strategies such as role-playing, storytelling, and charades; (3) positive social interactions between teachers and students; (4) strengthening local cultural values through the use of the Minang language in learning activities; and (5) parental support through parenting activities. In addition, internal factors such as children's interests and character, as well as external factors such as media and gender also influence the language development of early childhood.

Abstract

Fine motor development is one of the important aspects of early childhood growth and development, as it plays a major role in learning readiness and independence. This study aims to examine the implementation of cooking class activities in improving fine motor skills of early childhood students in preschool. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of teachers, the school principal, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study show that cooking class activities make a positive contribution to improving children’s fine motor skills, particularly through activities such as stirring, pouring, molding, and decorating food. In addition, this activity also has an impact on the development of other aspects, such as increased self-confidence, independence, cooperation, and concentration. The findings indicate that the cooking class is an effective, enjoyable, and holistic learning method that supports optimal early childhood development and can serve as an innovative learning activity in early childhood education institutions.
