Abstract

"Pengabdian pada Masyarakat" (Community Service) at Puncak Gadhung Mlaten, Caturharjo Village, Pandak, Bantul, Yogyakarta is conducted as an endeavor to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic. This program is commenced in August 2020 when Indonesian tourism was in hiatus due to domestic travel restrictions and public hesitations to undergo outdoor activities. As a response, local authorities of Caturharjo Village introduce the concept of pandemic responsive tourism to recover public confidence of traveling outside and be able to visit their village. This attempt is intended to reduce unemployment rate and increase residents' welfare. This service is directed in four steps, there are (1) problem identification and definition, (2) literature study of pandemic responsive design from climate perspective, (3) implementation of climatic findings using ENVI-met v4 as problem solver, and (4) formulating pandemic responsive tourism area. The output of this process is design of Puncak Gadhung Mlaten Tourism Area, Caturharjo Village, Pandak, Bantul, Yogyakarta by fulfilling pandemic responsive and thermal comfort criteria as; air temperature below 28oC, relative humidity between 70-75%, sun hours on public areas above 30 minutes, and wind speed more than 1 m/s.

Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systemic blood pressure persistent where the systolic blood pressure is ≥ 140 and the diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Hypertension is one of the main causes of morbidity in increasing morbidity and mortality or mortality rates in Indonesia, so the management of this disease is a very common intervention conducted at various levels of health facilities. The aim of this research is to know the relationship level of knowledge about hypertension with hypertension prevention measures in the elderly at BPSTW Budi Luhur Bantul. The research design used a cross sectional approach, namely a research design in which the measurement or observation was carried out simultaneously at one time. The research design used in this research was purposive sampling, namely sampling for a specific purpose. The sample in this research were all hypertension patients in BPSTW Budi Luhur Bantul as many as 44 respondents. Based on the results of the Spearman Rank calculation, it was obtained p-value = 0.642> (0.05) (p-value greater than α = 0.05. This means that there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and hypertension prevention measures in the elderly at BPSTW Budi Luhur Bantul. The conclusion is that there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge about hypertension and hypertension prevention measures in the elderly at BPSTW Budi Luhur Bantul.

Abstract

Microplastics measuring less than 5 mm can potentially contaminate groundwater around landfills. Many residents around the Piyungan Landfills use dug well water to meet their needs and threaten their health if it accumulates in the body. This study analyzes the abundance and microplastic polymers in well water around the Piyungan landfill. Data collection was carried out in January 2021 on three dug wells at a distance of 0-1 km, 1-2 km, and 2-3 km to the northwest and north of the Piyungan landfill. Nine water samples from each well were taken with intervals of collection in the morning and evening. The following steps include sample screening, sample drying, density separation, sample heating, microplastic separation, microplastic abundance calculation, and polymer type analysis. The results of the study found that the highest microplastic was 146 ± 109 particles/L in wells with a distance of 0-1 km, followed by wells at a distance of 1-2 km with an abundance of microplastics of 116 ± 31 particles/L and the lowest was in wells with a distance of 2-3 km with an abundance of microplastics of 77 ± 23 particles/L. Based on the Kruskal Wallis test results, it was concluded that the difference in the distance between the wells from the Piyungan landfill affected the abundance of microplastics. The types of microplastic polymers identified at three dug wells locations are Polystyrene (PS) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) polymers. This study concludes that microplastics were found in all water samples in dug wells around Piyungan landfill with the highest number in wells with a distance of 0-1 km, and the types of polymers identified were PS and PVC.

Abstract

Rice cultivation is the main emission source in the agricultural sector, contributes to greenhouse gases, especially CH4. Reduction efforts CH4 gas emissions in this study carries out by integrating technological components among varieties, fertilizers, and intermittent irrigation through the cultivation of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method. This study aims to determine the effect of varieties and fertilization on CH4 gas emissions during one growing season and model CH4 emissions. Denitrification-Decomposition (DNDC) model predicts greenhouse gas emissions, which is CH4 from agricultural ecosystems. It uses a Nested Design with two treatment factors, namely fertilization consisting of manure and MOL (P1) and manure, ZA, SP36, and KCl (P2), and the various treatment, Ciherang (C) and IR-64 (IR). Results of observations showed the highest total CH4 emission was in the P1-IR treatment of 136.36 kg/ha/season, and the lowest was the P2-IR treatment of 88.09 kg/ha/season. Simulation results using DNDC also showed the P1-IR treatment produced the highest total CH4 emissions of 143 kg/ha/season, and the lowest was P2-IR treatment of 59 kg/ha/season. Evaluation of DNDC observation and simulation model for average daily CH4 flux with R2 and RMSE values for each treatment, namely P1-C; P1-IR ; P2-C and P2-IR respectively (R2 = 0.65 ; RMSE = 13.19) ; (R2 = 0.003 ; RMSE = 3.55) ; (R2 = 0.17 ; RMSE = 32.06) and (R2 = 0.35 ; RMSE = 12.25). Results of the DNDC simulation still require optimization for the estimation of CH4 emissions at different fertilization and varieties.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out how is the process of implementing the project based learning model in increasing creativity and skills in making student business products, how are the results of increasing students' creativity and skills in making business products through a project based learning model in the lesson of creative products and entrepreneurship for class XII culinary 4 SMKN 1 Sewon 2020/2021. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with a project based learning model. The research subjects were students of class XII Catering 4 at SMK Negeri 1 Sewon, totaling 31 students. Implementation from July to October 2020, consists of 3 cycles, with the stages: "Observation, Planning-Action & Reflection". Actions are carried out by researchers and collaborators who are tasked with observing and recording every development. The data collection method used is observation. Data analysis was carried out by measuring the creativity and skills of the culinary business products, namely by presenting in the form of tables and percentages. The results showed that the initial observations of many groups were still less creative and skilled. Through the application of the project based learning (PJBL) method. In the application of the project based learning (PJBL) method, students experience an increase in their creative thinking and skills after being given action. Increased creativity in making student business products in learning creative products and entrepreneurship for class XII Culinary 4 SMKN 1 Sewon 2020/2021 by 67.85%, and increasing skills in making student business products by 54.84%. The description above shows that the project based learning (PJBL) method can improve students' creativity and skills in learning creative products and entrepreneurship.
