Abstract

Stunting is a serious public health problem and reflects chronic malnutrition that occurs during a child's growth period. The Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) reported a stunting prevalence of 21.6% in 2022, a small decrease from 24.4% in 2021, but still above the 2024 target of 14%. In 2023, the prevalence will stabilize at around 21.5%. Stunting not only impacts a child's physical growth, but can also disrupt cognitive development and productivity in the future. To analyze factors in the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-5 years in the work area of the Pundong Community Health Center, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design. The population of this study was stunted children aged 0-5 years who were registered at the Pundong Community Health Center, with samples taken by total sampling. This research involved 178 respondents, of which 78.1% experienced stunting, with 21.9% in the very short category. Most of the respondents were male (56.18%) and aged between 13-24 months (37.08%). Analysis shows that chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is the dominant factor influencing the incidence of stunting (P < 0.05). Other influencing factors are early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding, maternal education, and a history of anemia in pregnant women. Chronic Energy Deficiency in mothers during pregnancy is the dominant factor influencing the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Therefore, increasing understanding of pregnant women's nutrition is very important. Exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life is also crucial in preventing stunting. Integrated efforts to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women and education about nutrition during pregnancy and breastfeeding are needed to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia.

Abstract

Dental caries is the most common health problem among toddlers, with a high prevalence in various regions, including Indonesia. The main risk factors contributing to caries in toddlers include unhealthy diets, poor oral hygiene habits, and a lack of parental knowledge about children's dental care. This issue can significantly affect the quality of life and overall health of toddlers. This study utilized a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of toddlers aged 0-5 years who visited Posyandu and Puskesmas Pundong from August 2023 to August 2024. Data were collected through clinical examinations to assess the incidence of caries and oral hygiene, as well as structured interviews with parents regarding risk factors such as diet, brushing habits, and fluoride use. Descriptive and correlational statistical analyses were used to identify relationships between risk factors and dental health conditions. The study found that 51% of toddlers experienced dental caries, with poor oral hygiene observed in 29% of them. A total of 44% of toddlers were at high risk of developing cavities. A positive correlation was found between age and the number of caries, as well as a relationship between inadequate brushing habits and high rates of caries. The main risk factors contributing to caries were high sugar consumption and infrequent tooth brushing. The prevalence of dental caries among toddlers in the Puskesmas Pundong area is notably high, with risk factors influenced by diet, oral hygiene, and parental knowledge. Early preventive interventions through parental education, regular dental visits, fluoride use, and dietary changes are needed to reduce the risk of dental caries in toddlers. A collaborative approach between healthcare professionals and parents is essential to improve toddlers' overall dental health

Abstract

Patient adherence to hypertension follow-up visits at Pundong Community Health Center is a primary concern in hypertension management. This study aims to analyze the comparison of patient adherence between 2023 and 2024 and identify factors influencing patient adherence. This research utilized a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. Data were collected from hypertension patient visit documentation at Pundong Community Health Center from January 2023 to August 2024. The sample was taken using purposive sampling, involving patients who had been diagnosed with hypertension. Variables analyzed included visit frequency and patient age. The results showed a decrease in the number of patients attending visits from 2023 to 2024, although patient adherence increased during this period. This study found no significant relationship between older age and adherence levels, despite many studies showing that older patients tend to have higher adherence, possibly due to increased health awareness. Factors such as knowledge about hypertension, family support, and access to healthcare facilities played significant roles in determining adherence. Key challenges identified include a lack of knowledge, difficulty in accessing care, and dissatisfaction with healthcare services. Despite the decrease in the number of visits from 2023 to 2024, patient adherence to hypertension treatment showed improvement, indicating the effectiveness of possible interventions. Older patients demonstrated better adherence, while issues such as lack of knowledge and difficulty accessing care still need to be addressed. Improving patient education, enhancing family support, and refining healthcare systems are essential steps to further enhance adherence and the overall management of hypertension.

Abstract

As age increases, an individual's susceptibility to hypertension also rises. Individuals over the age of 60 have a higher risk of hypertension, with approximately 50-60% having blood pressure equal to or greater than 140/90 mmHg. Hypertension is more common in the elderly population. Data indicates that the prevalence of hypertension significantly increases after the age of 55, reaching 63.8% among those aged 75 and older in Indonesia. This study aims to explore and determine the relationship between age and gender with adherence to blood pressure control visits among hypertension patients in the Pundong Health Center area, Bantul. This research employs a quantitative study design with an observational analytical approach. The analysis used is the Pearson correlation test to assess the relationship between the dependent variables (age and gender) and the independent variable (adherence to visits). Data collected from 1,373 respondents at the Pundong Health Center indicate that there is no significant relationship between gender and adherence to control visits. Similarly, the results for age categories also show a P-value >0.005, indicating that age does not influence adherence to control visits among hypertension patients in Pundong. As age increases, the risk of hypertension rises, with around 50-60% of individuals over 60 experiencing high blood pressure. This study reveals that adherence to antihypertensive treatment varies based on age and gender.

Abstract

Sampoo is one of the lotion preparations in cosmetics that can be used to clean hair and scalp. Water spinach leaf extract contains polyphenol, flavonoid and saponin compounds which act as antimicrobials. This study aims to determine the effect of variations concentration of water spinach leaf extract in anti-dandruff sampoo preparations on the pH value of homogeneity and foam height of the preparation as parameters for physical property tests. The manufacture of anti-dandruff sampoo from water spinach leaf extract uses a melting method with concentrations of water spinach leaf extract of 5%, 7.5% and 10%, respectively. Physical evaluation of the preparation includes pH test, Homogeneity test and foam height. Data analysis was tested statistically using ANOVA. The results of the physical property test showed that increasing the concentration of water spinach leaf extract in the sampoo preparation caused an increase in foam height, with a p value of 0.070 (P> 0.05), the same pH value for formulas 1, 2 and 3 (pH 6), and homogeneous for all formulas
