Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of ta'awun (mutual cooperation) within the context of Muslim economic experience through a phenomenological lens. Utilizing a philosophical approach, this research aims to uncover the essence and meaning of the collective economic consciousness underlying ta'awun practices. A qualitative research method, through comprehensive literature review and descriptive analysis, is employed to explore the manifestations of ta'awun, ranging from traditional barter systems to contemporary Islamic finance innovations such as Sharia fintech and crowdfunding. Findings indicate that ta'awun is not merely an economic transaction but an intersubjective experience that shapes a collective consciousness prioritizing solidarity, justice, and sustainability. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the ethical and philosophical dimensions of Islamic economics, challenging individualistic economic paradigms, and offering a framework for developing more humane and equitable economic models. The collective economic consciousness emerging from ta'awun serves as a foundation for building resilient and prosperous communities.

Abstract

This article explores how self-care is not just a trend, but a necessity for mental health. Technological developments in the era of globalization, particularly through social media, have influenced public perspectives on mental health. While self-care is perceived as merely a lifestyle trend, it is essentially a basic need for maintaining optimal mental health. Mental health plays a crucial role in individual well-being, especially amidst social pressures, multiple demands, and workloads. If not managed properly, it can lead to serious mental disorders. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that mental health has equal standing with physical health in the concept of overall well-being. This study aims to understand the relationship between self-care and mental health and identify the stigma associated with mental health issues. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review method, analyzing various academic sources, journals, and articles related to self-care, mental health, and the challenges of implementing them. The results indicate that consistent self-care practices can help individuals recognize bodily and mental signals and build healthy social relationships. Support from family and the surrounding community, mental health literacy, and stigma reduction are key factors in the successful implementation process. This research recommends strengthening education and policies that prioritize self-care as part of efforts to create a mentally healthy, productive, and prosperous society.

Abstract

This study examines the contestation of educational management in two faith-based elementary schools in Pasuruan City: SD Unggulan Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Bangilan and SDIT Bina Insan Cendekia. The research focuses on the management strategies applied and the ideological, structural, and cultural factors influencing their differences. Employing a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that SD NU Bangilan adopts a participatory-cultural management model emphasizing Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah values, pesantren traditions, and community involvement. In contrast, SDIT Bina Insan Cendekia applies an integrated Islamic school management model that is systematic, disciplined, and indicator-based, supported by digital tools. The ideological orientation (NU vs tarbiyah), organizational structure, and school culture significantly shape distinct management patterns and influence student quality outcomes. In conclusion, the contestation between the two schools reflects not merely competition but also a constructive contribution of religious ideologies in fostering quality Islamic elementary education that is competitive and contextually relevant.
