Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of morbidity among early childhood. In Lubuklinggau Utara I Subdistrict, Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatra Province, the incidence of diarrhea is relatively high, with 11 reported cases—particularly in the Taba Baru subdistrict, which has been affected by viral and bacterial infections due to poor hygiene and sanitation practices. The 2025 Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) of Dehasen University Bengkulu focused on diarrhea prevention through an educational approach, including diarrhea counseling, leaflet distribution, handwashing with soap demonstrations, and practical sessions on how to prepare homemade oral rehydration solution (ORS). This activity was conducted in collaboration with the parents of children enrolled at Paud KB Raudhatul Jannah (RJ). The results showed an increase in parental awareness regarding the importance of home and environmental cleanliness, proper handwashing with soap, and the preparation of homemade ORS—all aimed at promoting clean and healthy living and reducing the risk of diarrhea. This program has proven effective as a promotive and preventive strategy based on early childhood interventions, serving as a potential model for implementation in other regions. Cross-sector collaboration and continuous education are essential to support efforts to reduce the incidence of diarrhea and contribute to stunting prevention through improved early childhood health.

The prevalence of diabetes increases in line with lifestyle changes such as lack of exercise and often consume unhealthy foods such as fast food (fast food), which occurs in many countries today. For now, diabetes can attack anyone, including children, adolescents, adults and parents. This socialization and education activity aims to help reduce the number of people with diabetes mellitus in RT 06 Village Suka Maju. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that is always included in the ranking of 10 most diseases based on he number of visits at the Penarik Puskesmas Mukomuko Regency. The method used in socialization and education is the translation of diabetes mellitus such as risk factors, complications, discipline in taking drugs and dietary mellitus diet. In addition to the translation there is also an educational video that is played before the start of counseling to all the elderly present. Thus it is expected that public knowledge about diabetes mellitus will be even greater so that it will be able to reduce the rate of growth of people with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Hypertension is still a global target, to reduce hypertension patients in 2010 to 2030 (WHO, 2021). Hypertension is often referred to as high blood pressure, a condition in which there is an increase in blood pressure in abnominal arteries that occurs repeatedly with an increase in systolic pressure of more than or equal to 140 mmHg and an increase in diastolic pressure of more than or equal to 90 mmHg (Sriyanti, 2022). One of the non-pharmacological treatments for hypertension is acupressure therapy. Simulation at acupressure points can stimulate the release of histamine as a mediator of vasodilation and decreased vascular resistance (Arfian, and Heriviyatno J Siagian, 2021). This KKN-T activity is a form of community service that aims to improve the knowledge, awareness and behaviour of the RT 04 community of Suka Maju Village about the risk of hypertension. This activity is in accordance with the priority program in accelerating efforts to prevent and treat hypertension, which is also emphasized in the UPTD Puskesmas Penarik program. The programme was carried out through educational methods, blood pressure checks and acupressure therapy carried out in RT 04 Suka Maju Village, Penarik Kab.Mukomuko Bengkulu with the target community, the elderly, people with hypertension and cadres totalling 44 people. The community has received information about the causes, signs and symptoms, prevention and non-pharmacological treatment of hypertension with acupressure therapy. The results of this activity showed an increase in community knowledge about Hypertension, prevention and application of acupressure therapy to lower blood pressure and reduce head pain in people with hypertension. This helps the community to better understand Hypertension and take appropriate preventive measures. It is expected that the community can apply prevention and acupressure therapy for the treatment of Hypertension in Suka Maju Village.

Abstract

This account tells the story of the OPTIMISTIS community service day in Desa Air Kering 1, Padang Guci, Kaur, Bengkulu. Over the weekend, volunteers tidied up littered streets, showed children the worth of nature, invited more neighbors to join the clean-ups, and opened spaces where youth could learn. They planted new garbage bins, cleared rubbish from the river, held short Quran classes, and set in the ground forty grafted avocado trees as symbols of pride and extra green in the village. To feel the difference of these tasks, the team watched each day, asked residents through polls and talk circles, then wrote down every answer. Feedback was mostly hopeful: bins stayed full, about eight out of ten adults pitched in, families washed hands more often, and people from different groups chatted more freely. The report now urges village leaders to keep naming caretakers, check the steps together, and guard these small wins before they slowly fade.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation and impact of the Utilization of Organic Waste Banks in the Talang Perapat Village Community, West Seluma District. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study consisted of residents, village officials, and waste bank managers who were selected purposively. The results of the study showed that the utilization of waste banks succeeded in increasing residents' understanding of Organic waste, as well as fostering new habits such as saving waste and utilizing it as organic fertilizer. This behavioral change is supported by the active involvement of village officials who facilitate coordination and ensure the sustainability of the program. This activity is considered very useful because it combines theory and direct practice, making it easier for the community to understand and apply. The utilization of waste banks has proven effective in increasing environmental awareness and encouraging active community participation in maintaining cleanliness in a sustainable manner.
