Abstract

Mathematics is an essential subject for students because it develops logical and analytical thinking skills, which form the foundation for understanding other concepts in mathematics as well as other scientific disciplines. One of the important topics in mathematics is exponents, which serve as a prerequisite for understanding other advanced topics. As prerequisite material, students are still frequently found to make errors in solving exponent problems. Therefore, this study aims to analyze students' errors in solving a number of exponent problems using the Kastolan procedure. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the research subjects consisting of 10 tenth-grade students from a Madrasah Aliyah (MA) in Siak Regency. The research instrument consists of 5 descriptive questions on exponent material. The data analysis techniques applied include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that students made the following errors: conceptual errors, which involve students' inability to apply the correct properties of exponents; procedural errors, where students are unable to complete the steps needed to arrive at a final solution; and technical errors, which occur due to miscalculations that result in incorrect answers

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in Geography through the implementation of the creative problem solving (CPS) model. The research was conducted in class XII IIS 1 at MAN Insan Cendekia Siak, with 21 students as the subjects. The method used was classroom action research, consisting of two cycles, each involving planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation sheets, critical thinking and problem-solving tests, and field notes. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. In cycle 1, critical thinking skills reached 71.4% (good category) and increased to 81.9% (very good) in cycle 2. Meanwhile, problem-solving skills improved from 52.38% (fair) in cycle 1 to 92.53% (very good) in cycle 2. Test results also showed similar improvements, with critical thinking increasing from 73.80% to 84.77% and problem-solving from 66.66% to 90.47%. Thus, the CPS model proved effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in geography learning.

Abstract

Football is one of Indonesia’s most popular sports, particularly among generation Z (gen Z), who actively engage with the national team through social media. However, the termination of Shin Tae-Yong’s contract has significantly impacted their enthusiasm. This study examines how his dismissal influences gen Z’s engagement by analyzing changes in their digital interactions and its implications for the football ecosystem. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach and social attachment theory, this study examines online discussions on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. The findings reveal a decline in gen Z’s engagement, reflected in reduced social media interactions and the emergence of boycott campaigns against national football. This disengagement may disrupt Indonesia’s football ecosystem, particularly by reducing match attendance, viewership, and sponsorship interest. Therefore, football stakeholders must adopt inclusive digital strategies to rebuild gen Z’s loyalty and sustain long-term fan engagement.

Abstract

The topic of luminosity in the solar system is inherently abstract, as it can only be visualized through illustrations or images. Understanding the solar system, with the sun as its center, is crucial for developing students’ scientific reasoning. Like all celestial bodies, the sun will eventually cease to exist, yet no technology currently allows for precise calculation of its remaining lifespan. This study investigates the remaining lifetime of the sun using Einstein’s mass-energy equivalence. This research aims to enhance the comprehension of high school students (SMA/MA) regarding the solar system’s mechanisms and to refine their ability to apply derived formulas, particularly in mass-energy equivalence. A descriptive method is used, drawing data from credible scientific journals. The current age of the sun is estimated at 4.5 billion years, determined by comparing the ages of the oldest terrestrial rocks and meteorites. The sun’s remaining lifetime is calculated using Einstein’s mass-energy equivalence equation, yielding 1.47 × 10¹³ years until it exhausts its mass through nuclear reactions.

Abstract

The TikTok dance phenomenon has become a widespread trend among the younger generation, including school students. This trend has the potential to influence students' interest in traditional dance, both as a form of appreciation and as an innovation in cultural preservation. This study aims to analyze how TikTok can enhance students' interest in traditional creative dance and the challenges in preserving cultural heritage in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings indicate that TikTok can serve as an effective medium to introduce traditional dance to the younger generation through creative and interactive content. Data show an increase in students' interest in traditional dance from 35% before using TikTok to 65% after being exposed to traditional dance content on the platform. However, challenges arise in maintaining the cultural essence due to modifications and adaptations that align with social media formats. The study implies that social media can be leveraged as an educational tool for cultural preservation if managed properly. Therefore, active involvement from educators, art communities, and educational policies is necessary to ensure that TikTok’s role in traditional dance is not merely a passing trend but contributes to sustainable cultural preservation.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the appearance of the KUPERKIM (chemical periodic element card) learning media and analyze the validation text results of the KUPERKIM learning media on periodic system of elements material. This research method uses the ADDIE method (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The validity test for the appropriateness of the material and media was carried out using 3 validators and the implementation test for the feasibility of using the media was carried out on 30 tenth grade students at MAN Insan Cendekia Siak as research samples using Likert scale indicators. The indicators contained in the media expert validation questionnaire include 15 indicators which are grouped into 2 aspects, include the software engineering aspect and the visual communication aspects. Apart from that, there are 15 indicators in the material expert validation questionnaire which are grouped into 4 aspects, including material aspects, linguistic aspects, implementation aspects, and visual communication aspects. Based on all assessments from media experts, the average score for all aspects is 3,35 and the assessment from material experts is 3.20, KUPERKIM can be declared suitable for use as an educational game media and can attract students’ interest in learning.
