Abstract

Bantaragung Village in Majalengka Regency, West Java is one of the tourism villages which raises the diversity and uniqueness of its natural potential as an attraction. As a developing tourism village, it is necessary to ensure that the development of Bantaragung Tourism Village is in accordance with the principles of sustainable tourism. Therefore it is important to know and determine the main priority factors for the development of Bantaragung as a sustainable tourism village. The purpose of this research is to identify the characteristics of tourism village, to analyze the development priorities and to describe the sustainable tourism development strategy in Bantaragung Village. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) using Expert Choice 11 Software and SWOT analysis are the methods used in this research. The results show that from the seven criteria for tourism village, accessibility has the dominant level of importance of the tourism village characteristic. As for the 4 alternative choices of natural tourist attractions, Awilega Camping Ground is the top priority for natural tourism attractions in Bantaragung. Furthermore, this study also found that the strategy for sustainable tourism development is to combine the existing strengths and threats elements of Bantaragung. In other words, the strategies could be implemented by preserving traditional culture and arts, as well as creating a distinctive feature in the Awilega Camping Ground.

Abstract

Kotagede is one of the tourism destinations that has been associated with several sites such as education, history, and culture. On the macro and local levels, policies must guarantee that tourism development does not compromise cultural heritage assets that can provide economic, social, and environmental advantages. The aim of the article is to provide an overview of the stakeholders who contributed to the administration and development of the Kotagede tourist conservation and preservation program, focusing on the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) standard as a performance indicator. The technique and methods used in this study are observation, filed survey and in-depth interview. The findings indicated that Kotagede had a competitive advantage as a potential tourism destination due to its cultural, historical, gastronomic, architectural, and transportation advantages. The institutional community has been engaged in preserving old structures, promoting tourism, and fostering local economic growth.

Abstract

The Malang City Government has made efforts to develop tourist areas through the creation of tourist villages. This is done to empower the existing potential, including the empowerment of human resources and local culture. Kampung Sanan is a very popular tourist village as a creative village based on gastronomy and culture so that it can raise the potential of the village area as an economic and cultural center. It takes the involvement of tourism-aware groups in order to develop a sustainable tourist area of Kampung Sanan. A qualitative approach was used in this study to obtain actual information in order to provide an overview of the research. From the results of the study, it was found that two strategies were prioritized in empowering the Sanan village community to become a gastronomic and cultural-based Creative Tourism Village, namely: (1) coaching the residents of Sanan Village to join a tourism awareness group; and (2) assistance in making gastronomic tour packages and cultural development through the art of Bantengan Macan Kumbang to attract tourists.

Abstract

Cultural tourism has an important influence on the development of the tourism industry. The travel experience stories of bloggers written through blogs contributed to the initial introduction and impact of other travel planning tours. It can also be used as a reference by tourism agents. However, the travel experience stories of these bloggers have not been structured as themes and memorable experiences. Whereas the core product of the tourism business is a memorable experience. In the perspective of narrative paradigm theory (NPT), a story or narrative is successful as a human communication capable of forming meaning, if it has coherence and truth. . Therefore, this study aims to reveal the narrative structure told by bloggers. So that the meaning and theme of the cultural tourism experience can be understood as a memorable experience. This study uses a qualitative approach with narrative paradigm theory (NPT). The research data as the unit of analysis was collected from the narrative stories of bloggers published on weblogs. Meanwhile, the principle of the grounded theory approach is aimed at uncovering the narrative themes of bloggers. The results of the study explain the narrative of bloggers in cultural tourism that is told through blog pages as narrative rationales because there is coherence and truth so that they form meaning as a positive, enjoyable, and satisfying experience. The category of cultural tourism that bloggers often visit is the category of cultural heritage, such as museums, temple sites, and old buildings, as well as local or traditional villages. The results of this study also found that a series of blogger narratives formed the theme of memorable experiences through cultural tourism, such as spirituality, intellectual national identity, and local uniqueness. Overall this research reveals, the rational structure of the narrative in the blogger's narrative explains the meaning of an impressive experience in cultural tourism as a positive, pleasant, and memorable view that tourists remember after visiting a destination that is categorized as cultural tourism, retold in the form of a story.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the potential of community-based village tourism in West Java. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this study were tourism stakeholders in West Java Province, which were determined by purposive technique with a total of 9 people. The results showed that West Java Province has tourism villages with nature-based tourist attractions in the form of lakes, waterfalls and mountains with unique views, cultural tourism attractions in the form of cultural heritage where there are caves with historical relics, as well as museums that are rich in original collections. The government has a strong desire to develop original and nature-based tourist attractions. Utilization of social media and organizing events are used as a means of tourism promotion. Acceleration in the development of community-based tourism villages in West Java Province is  collaboration from stakeholders,  requires support from the government and awareness of village communities in management requires support for rural communities for development and efforts for promotion.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the community satisfaction, which consists of public service satisfaction, environmental satisfaction, recreational opportunity satisfaction, economic satisfaction, community involvement, and social opportunities and medical services satisfaction, has an effect on the support of tourism development in Indonesia. This purpose was set since the sustainability of tourism development is something important, so it requires support from the community. The data used are primary data collected through a survey in the form of a questionnaire. The population in this study were the people of Indonesia, while the sample was determined by using a simple random sampling technique. The analysis technique used is PLS-SEM considering the suitability of these techniques with research objectives. The findings of this study based on the results of data processing are that environmental satisfaction, economic satisfaction, community involvement, and social opportunities have an effect on tourism development support in Indonesia, while public service satisfaction, recreational opportunity satisfaction, and satisfaction with medical services have no effect.

Abstract

The Yayasan Pendidikan Swadaya Gunung Jati (YPSGJ) in Cirebon is a foundation in social education. This foundation has land resources that have not been optimized and plans to develop one of their business unit in the tourism sector. This study aims to plan YPSGJ's land in Cibogo to be developed into a business unit in the tourism sector. This study is a tourism landscape planning study, therefore the method used refers to the Gunn planning stages which consist of setting objectives, research, synthesis conclusions, concepts, and recommendations. Data was collected by interviewing three key informants from YPSGJ, literature study, and observation. Data were analyzed using SWOT analysis to determine the planning concept. The results obtained from the land are planned to be an agriculture-based technopark by combining agro-edutourism activity. There are 7 activity concepts and 13 facility concepts spread over 4 spaces are proposed in this plan. The managerial implications of this study can provide input for YPSGJ to develop its land resources so that the benefits can be felt not only for internal YPSGJ but also for the Cirebon Municipality. The results of this study can also be used as a reference in the field of tourism landscape science as its practical implications.
