The aim of this thesis, first: to describe the background of gambir kaulak farmers in kenagarian Maek , second: Describing the social and economic life of gambir kaulak farmers at kenagarian Maek, sub-district Bukit Barisan, District 50 Kota ( 2005-2013 ) . This study uses historical research. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data.The results showed that, first: activities of gambir kaulak farmers which carried by society in Nagari Maek are done in groups on several locations which the agricultural site conditions are not the same from one location to another . Gambir kaulak farmers activities is utilization of earnings for the purpose of improving Nagari Maek villagers incomes outside the other kind of agriculture, can improve Nagari economic conditions, also improving the welfare of the community . Second, by the presence of kaulak activity , socio-economic conditions of society is increasing. From the economic point of view they have been able to meet the needs and buying luxury goods , turning community Maek to consumptive lifestyle, able to send their children to university . Then in terms of social, creating a new color in the community of Nagari Maek .From the research that has been carried out it can be concluded that, the gambir farmers activities which carried by society have been able to sustain community economic, but not evenly .

 This research was based on the less efficiency of using media in learning process. There were students who do not quite pay attention to the material which was taught by the teacher, and many students came and out to the class while the learning process go on. Based on the problem, this research was focused on influence of Visual Audio Media used toward students learning achievement in history subject at VIII grade SMP Negeri 12 Padang. This research was aimed to find out the influence of Visual Audio Media use in history subject (IPS) learning achievement of students in VIII grade SMP N 12 Padang.Based on the problem, the type of this research was experiment research. The population of the research was the whole of students VII grade SMP N 12 Padang in semester 1 year 2013/2014. This research consisted of two sample classes, that were Experiment Class and Control Class by total sampling design.The findings if this research showed that there was influence of using learning method with Visual Audio Media toward students achievement at VIII grade SMP N 12 Padang. The learning achievement of Experiment class that used Visual Audio Method was higher than learning achievement of control class that used speech learning method (ceramah). The average result of class experiment was 85,54 and in the class control was 75,29. Based on the result, it showed that the average result of students in the class experiment was higher than in the control class.Based on the explanation above, it could be concluded that using Visual Audio Media in learning history (IPS) had influence toward learning achievement, which could be seen from the value of experiment class which higher than control class.

Lock of studentâs fact interpretation understanding ability is caused by various of factors go such as history learning process which is still delivering of information that make student to be able to remind, the history learning aim is to practice students to think critical trough fact in history learning. One of effort to increase fact interpretation understanding in history learning is cooperative learning mode type STAD.the aim of the research is to know the effect of using cooperative learning model type STAD toward students history learning result at SMAN 5 Padang.the advantage of this research is to practice students to formulate fact to be concept and principle in order to increase studentâs history study result in finding material matter by self and increase creativity, studentsâinterest and also develop studentsâminf set toward history lesson material understanding. Kind of the research of quantitative research which data got trough direct eksperiment on XI IPS students of SMAN 5 Padang the research sample was got based on group random with arsumption that every group has same ability and habit in learning history. The sample was two classes that XI IPS 1 as experiment class and XI IPS 2 as control class. The research result shown the result study in interpretating achievement history fact experiment classhigher than control class. Itâs seen from differences of posttest average score experiment class as big as 5,71 and counrol class 4,75.It means that history fact interpretation result study increasing of experiment class higher than control class. From analysis of research result and explanation can be concluded that application of cooperative learning model type STAD had significant effect toward studentsâ study result in interpretating history material fact of XI IPS SMAN 5 Padang

Agate processing business run society in Nagari Sikabau a craft activity . Thought to open a business that is run agate handicraft artisans todays society is to follow the activities of the business which was run first residents doing business as craftsmen . This artisan activity is an activity that utilizes a natural potential types of rocks are processed into stone jewelery . The problem in this study are ; how the emergence of agate business and socio-economic life of agate craftsman in Nagari Sikabau district. Dharmasraya arbor Island during 2004-2012 .The results showed that the business of making people run agate artisans in Nagari Sikabau District of Arbor Island involving others in the business activities or status as a craftsman . Origin of capital to open a business of making businesses run agate artisan community comes from its own capital , and loans . The production process is carried out with the several stages namely ; 1) cutting process , 2) the process of pattern formation , 3) grinding process , and lastly 4) the process of refining and pelicinan done by using some sort of special chemicals that make the rocks slippery and shiny . Based on the research that has been done can be concluded that , agate processing businesses run craftsmen in Nagari Sikabau society , can make the conditions of social life is better in terms of economy. .

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa pada mata pelajaran Sejarah ternyata guru belum sepenuhnya mampu memotivasi siswa. Cara guru seperti mengajar dengan hanya menerangkan materi dan menjadikan siswa sebagai pendengar membuat siswa tidak termotivasi untuk belajar. Pembelajaran berlangsung dalam suasana yang kurang menyenangkan, sehingga siswa terindikasi memiliki motivasi belajar rendah dan bosan dalam belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan usaha guru memotivasi siswa pada pembelajaran Sejarah di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Pariaman.Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan informan penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI di SMA N 2 Pariaman, kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah dan guru mata pelajaran sejarah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Untuk menguji keabsahan data, digunakan trianggulasi data. Kemudian teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif yang terdiri dari 4 komponen yaitu: Pengumpulan data, reduksi data, display, dan pembuatan kesimpulan.Setelah analisis data dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Sejarah, telah diupayakan guru dengan cara 1) pemberian penguatan yang dilakukan guru dalam bentuk kata-kata pujian. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 2) menggunakan tes dalam nilai pada pelaksanaan ulangan harian. 3) membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu siswa dengan mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan. 4) mendapatkan perhatian siswa dengan memberikan siswa waktu untuk bertanya tentang materi yang tidak dipahami. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 5) merangsang hasrat siswa dalam belajar melalui penyajian materi yang menarik. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 6) menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang bervariasi seperti pemakaian simulasi dan permainan berupa gambar tokoh yang menjadikan siswa lebih bersemangat dalam belajar.

 This research is motivated by the problem of classroom management implemented teacher has not gone well. On the basis of the problem of this research is focused on the constraints of teachers in implementing Classroom Management in Integrated Social learning in SMP Negeri 4 Tarusan Pesisir Selatan Region. This study aims to determine the constraints of teachers in implementing Classroom Management in Integrated Social learning in SMP Negeri 4 Tarusan Pesisir Selatan Region, views from the skills associated with the creation and maintenance of learning conditions, divide the attention of students, management teachers in focus groups or class, giving clear instructions to students, reprimand or termination and provide reinforcement to the students. Based on these problems, the method used in this study is the evaluation study. To test the validity of the data the authors used data triangulation. Then the techniques of data analysis in this study using the interactive analysis technique proposed by Huberman Milles, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results show the obstacles faced by teachers in classroom management are: students lack discipline, too many students, students who have a good personality and lack of discipline less, give clear instructions for materials that are difficult to understand by students, students who have personalities less good and less discipline and character of the students come from diverse backgrounds as different. It can be concluded that the Integrated Social Science teachers have the classroom management problems, especially problems related to students. This happens because of the diversity of characteristics possessed by students.

This research is motivated by the learning process is centered social studies teachers , students only listen to what diterang by teachers and less involved in the learning process . Besides the lack of variation in the use of learning methods that fun to be able to attract the attention of students to learn and can enable students to learn. This leads to low yields social studies class VIII SMP N 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan Academic Year 2013/2014 . One strategy that can improve student learning outcomes is the adoption of a strategy Genius Learning . The purpose of this study was to compare the results with the application of social studies students Genius Learning Strategies better than the results of student learning using lecture learning in social studies class VIII SMP N 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan  . This study is experimental . The study was conducted in SMP N 4 Sutera in August-September first half of the school year 2013/2014 . The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP 4 Sutera enrolled in the first semester of academic year 2013/2014 . Sampling was done by cluster sampling in order to obtain class VIII1 as the experimental class and the control class as a class VIII2 . The results showed that students learning outcomes IPS experimental class higher than the control class . Experimental class scored an average is 77.52 while the control class scored an average of 70.86 . hypothesis test with the t-test obtained thitung price ( 2.64 ) > t table ( 1.67 ) so that Ho refused and H1 accepted , this means the hypothesis is accepted . It can be concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes of students who use the learning method Genius leraning the lecture method of teaching social studies in the eighth grade students of SMPN 4 Sutera districts Pesisir Selatan. Experimental class scored an average of 77.52 is higher than the results of grade social studies students gain control of the average value of 70.86 . Implementation of this strategy will help students to remember , increase understanding and provide new insights on the subject matter . So the application of learning methods Genius Learning in the learning process can improve learning outcomes .

Low motivation of student to learn especially in studying the science of social subjectin Junior High School 25 Kabupaten Solok Selatan. History Education Program. STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. Padang 2014. The background of this research is low motivation of student to learn especially in studying the science of social subject. Based on that problem, this research focuses on reinforcement of teachers to motivate students especially in the science of social subject in Junior High School 25 Solok Selatan. The primary purpose of this research is to find relationship reinforcement of teachers to studentâs motivation in the science of social course.Types of research that used in this research are descriptive correlation. The population of this study is all of students in Junior High School 25, Solok Selatan 2013/2014, and the sample of this research are 46 students which taking with Proportional stratified random sampling technique with Slovin formula. The result of this research describes reinforcement of teachers to students motivation in Junior high school 25 Solok Selatan in medium (39, 13%), meanwhile students motivation in Junior High School lower (46, 65%). The result of hypothesis evidence there are relationship between reinforcement of teachers to students motivation in Junior high School 25 Solok Selatan, the relationship of reinforcement of teachers to students motivation is lower with r count = 0,317 with r table 0,294, but the direction of relationship is positive because the value of r is positive. This study describes the results that reinforcement of teachers influence motivation in general, however discussed separately but was not correlated. This finding suggests that reinforcement essentially no impact in isolation, but overall influence student motivation. It means if the teacher give motivation, so that the student motivation will be arise.Â

Biography of Syech Muhammad Arif on develops Islam in Nagari Lubuak Gadang, Kecamatan Sangir Rantau Duo Baleh Koto (1897-1960). History Education Program. STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. Padang 2014. This thesis discusses about the struggle of Syech Muhammad Arif in develop Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang Kecamatan Sangir Kabupaten Solok Selatan 1897-1960. To facilitate this research, the problem can be formulated as follows:  how does the process Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang. How does the role of Syech Muhammad Arif in expanding Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak gadang. How does influence of Syech Muhammad Arif on the society in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang. This study describes the results:  The process of development Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang which doing by Syech Muhammad Arif is with deliver dakwah islamiyah to the whole of Nagari in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang and remove tahkayul beliefs in that Nagari.  The big role of Syech Muhammad Arif in development Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang and persuade the society to move for better life. To fluent his mission Syech Muhammad Arif built mosque and Surau in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang. The function is for place of worship; learn more about Islam and for resident by his students.  Influent of Syech Muhammad Arif in develop of Islam in Kenagarian Lubuak Gadang is the society back to the right way and disappear of tahkayul belief , so that make Alqurâan and Sunnah as guide life and now adherent of Islam is growing.

The research is motivated by the teacher is often incorrectly choose the media that fits the material being taught, or ise the same media to any teaching and learning process. This study aims to abtain data, information about (1) Skills teachers choose various types of media and understand the function of each mediun in the learning, (2) Skill teachers to design a learning media appropriate to the learning objectives, learning materials, teaching method and digestibility ability learners in learning history, (3) a history teacher organizing skills of learners in the use of media in teaching history. Thiss research study evaluating the qualitative analysis. The experiment was conducted at SMP II Padang. Research informants were teachers who teach subjects taught in history class VII numbered 2, then the principal and vice curriculum. Based on the result: 1) Skill teachers in selecting and using instructional media in the teaching of history in accordance with the function of learning media including a pretty, 2) Skill teachers in designing instructional media appropriate to the learning objectives are adequate and skill of teachers in engaging student to use instructional media including less.
