Abstract

PT. X is a company that is growing on a large scale and requires process control in product design activities to reduce product defects. The research was conducted with the aim of designing a quality management system in the TTPI department at PT. X. The research focuses on the design of packaging products. The quality management system is designed to minimize the impact of packaging product defects such as poor product functionality, specifications that are not in accordance with demand and others. There were 10 types of packaging defects found. The design is using the DMAIC method and the analysis using 5 whys analysis. 10 packaging defects have root causes, namely measurement errors, color determination, finishing, and different understandings with vendors. The proposed improvements are in the form of a sequential control process from making print files (die line), requesting and reviewing the results of raw designs, semi-finished designs and finished designs from vendors. This improvement proposal is controlled by making SOPs, vendor visits, standardization of measuring instruments and colors. From the suggested improvements, it is considered that can be used as a step to anticipate errors in packaging product specifications and the product design process to be more structured.

Abstract

PT. Z is one of the largest tobacco producing companies in Indonesia, as a company that has the spirit of continuous improvement, the company wants to continue to increase their productivity, which is measured by yield and labor productivity. This research was conducted to provide suggestions as an effort to increase yield and labor productivity. In the project of eliminating idle time for the rotary dryer, it was carried out by rotating workers and adding workers from other lines, the result shows there was a significant increase in labor productivity. In the cleaning process, a suggestion was given in the form of the method used, which initially used the blow method to the suction method. In the metal detecting process, it is proposed to place a magnet before the raw material passes through the metal detector machine, this is expected to reduce overprocessing waste by 25 to 37.5 minutes or 625 to 937.5 kilograms. To determine machine parameters that affect yield, multiple linear regression analysis was performed. Based on these results, it was found that there were 4 variables. which significantly affects the yield for product 1. Meanwhile for product 2, there were 5 variables that significantly affect yields.

Abstract

PT X as a company that produces various types of bicycles has problems which one of them is painting process that does not produce output on time and in the right amount according to PPIC’s schedule. Based on Fishbone Diagram and Pareto Chart analysis, the most affecting factors are method, material, and environment.  The method factor is repair work has not been monitored well so there might be work delay. The monitoring system design in this research begins with improving the flow, then continued with the making of SOP and database in Google Sheets. The average percentage of realization accomplishment with planning from February until March (before implementation) is 32.09% and it increases to 50.01% from April until May (after implementation). Monitoring system can also show painting repair team performance that is presented by the percentage of daily repair accomplishment that has an average of 72.13% in April and 52.62% in May which is still below the target.

Abstract

Performance is influenced by individual ability and work engagement. To improve the ability of its employees, Bank Jatim provides a program called enhancement. Based on the annual report of Bank Jatim, the program assessment given is only limited to pre-test and post-test, which if the post-test score is high then the employee is considered good. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether the enhancement and work engagement programs have an effect on employee performance and a description of the work engagement of Bank Jatim employees. The data used in this study is the KPI balanced scorecard from the perspective of learning and growth and finance and questionnaires distributed to 54 employees in all branches throughout East Java. After all the data was collected, the data was analyzed descriptively using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method to determine the effect between variables. The results of this study are enhancement programs have an impact on employee performance but work engagement has no impact on employee performance. In addition, the description of work engagement shows that the majority of employees who get high engagement scores come from employees who have worked under 5 years.

Abstract

PT. X is one of the transformer manufacturers in Indonesia. The difference in standard time at each workstation causes a bottleneck on the Core Coil Assembly (CCA) line resulting in late demand fulfillment. Coil LV has the longest processing time among others, therefore a semi automated machine replacement project is carried out to reduce the processing time. The purpose of this research is to find whether replacement on semi automated machine is the best option to be implemented for coil LV workstation. A Break Even Point (BEP) analysis will be used to compare the current state (manual machine) with two alternatives project (combination of semi automated machine). BEP value of alternative 1 is 2,292 units, while alternative 2 is 2,647 units. However, the replacement project is not feasible to be implemented this year because the use of manual machine has a lower cost to meet the demand of 1,601 units. Actually, the optimal capacity for semi automated machines is 8 coil units per shift, so the company can increase the output capacity by reviewing the number of demands.

Abstract

This study was conducted in a liner company, namely PT. X., particularly in the Depot Department. PT. X is a company engaged in the business of container rental and ship loading expeditions, The Depot Department serves customers directly and all container-related activities like stripping in, stripping out, stuffing in, and stuffing out. Depot Department already have three quality targets. Already has three quality goals that have been running for several years, however, it is felt that it is lacking to monitor the performance of the depot. Therefore, PT. X wants to maintain, improve and monitor the depot’s performance. To answer that need, we design new KPIs for the Depot Department through Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL). As a result, we found for new quality target proposals that are, serving the customer, finding empty containers, the availability of spare heavy equipment, the availability of spare thermal backup, these four quality goals also support the company's policy.

Abstract

This research aims to design a TX compliance dashboard in PT X. TX is an asset tracking application in PT X which is applied for monitoring filling station operational activities on gas cylinder products. However, there are several problems in information visualization, such as long and complicated data processing and visualization that do not give sufficient information for analysis and decision-making activities. These problems can be solved by designing a TX compliance dashboard that is integrated with data processing software. The purpose of dashboard design is to visualize all performance assessments regarding the implementation of TX. Data processing is done based on TX and ERP transaction data updated weekly, using software to increase data processing accuracy and speed. The processed data is integrated into the dashboard as a data visualization tool. Overall, the TX compliance dashboard can answer the needs of fill monitoring, delivery monitoring, transaction verification rate, cylinder scanning violation, and GPS-related violation.

Abstract

the research was conducted to eliminate the type of folding bottle mouth defect in the production output at PT XYZ. Folding mouth defect is the cause of leakage in the mouth of bottle. The problem is seen based on customer complaint data in 2021-2022, namely 33% of customers complained about leaking bottles. Efforts to eliminate the type of folding mouth defect carried out using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) stages to analyze the root cause of the problem and provide a proposed improvement plan that will be carried out. Analysis of the causes of the problem is done using the help of fishbone diagrams. Four factors cause the problem of folding mouth defects, namely man, machine, method and material factors. Improvements that can be made to eliminate folding mouth defects are to carry out an overall audit of the machine ,replace abnormal parts and making helper tool for set up.

Abstract

This study uses the Monte Carlo simulation method by generating random numbers according to the data distribution test. This research was conducted in seven stages, the first is observation and problem identification to ascertain what are the obstacles in Store X. The second stage is literature study to become a theoretical basis that can be used in solving existing problems. the third stage is data collection, this stage is carried out by conducting interviews and asking for sales data from Store X. The next stage is data processing, the fifth stage is data validation, this stage is carried out to ensure the distribution of the data that has been obtained. The sixth stage is ordering simulation and the last stage is drawing conclusions and suggestions. The results obtained from the simulation show that the costs incurred by the Store when placing an order per product are Rp 230,713,967 while the costs incurred by Store when using a combined order is Rp 211,976,977. Based on these data, it is known that Store can save costs of Rp 18,736,896 when placing a combined order.

Abstract

PT. Intidaya Dinamika Sejati is a company engaged in the distribution of pedrogals, roots blowers, becker vacuum pumps, as well as technical consultants for service services for various products, such as vacuum pumps, roots blowers, air end compressors, control panels, and air locks for all brands. There are five divisions in PT. Intidaya Dinamika Blower division, Vacuum division, Fabrication division, Rewinding division, and Industrial Repair division. Fabrication Division is one of the largest divisions in PT. The Power of True Dynamics. In Fabrication division there are several wastes that can reduce the productivity of making medical vacuum pump. The wastes that exist in PT. Intidaya Dinamika Sejati Fabrication division: motion, waiting, transportation, defect, and extra processing. Researchers designed value stream mapping as a reference for improving the medical vacuum pump production process. The suggestions made for process improvement, briefing, stricter supervision and assessment, worker training, setting the hand stacker before the welding process, use of measuring tape, use of phosphating liquid to wash tanks, the uses of spray putty, and change the order of processes. Finally, the researcher made a future value stream mapping to describe the situation after the proposal.
