Abstract

PT X is a shipping and logistic company that has been operating since 1970 in Surabaya City. One of the divisions in PT X is Division Y. The problem of Division Y is the workload imbalance between employees in one department. This research aims to measure the employee workload condition and provide suggestions to improve the workload balance among employees. This research uses the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method, where the employee’s total workload will be compared to the total effective working time available. The results of measuring the six department workload of Division Y show that 25,7% of employees is underload, 62,8% of employees have a normal workload, and 11,4% of employees is overload. The workload improvements that carried out are proposing additional job to the underload employees, shifting job between employees, and updating the information system program. These improvements were able to improve the employee workload balance to 11% of underload employees, 86% of normal load employees, and 3% of overload employees.

Abstract

X company produces furniture products and is included in a large furniture company in Indonesia. The production system adopted is a “make by order” system targeting importer buyers (distribution/overseas large stores). The performance  in the packing area for 3 months (January-March) has never reached the expected target and the defect rate is 11%. The research was conducted to help improve performance by looking for suggestions that reduce the defect rate in the packing area by analyzing the highest type of defect (chipping). The cause analysis was traced using the Five Whys Diagram methods, and it was found that there were problems in the work environment and work methods that can still be developed. Improvements were implemented in the form of creating and training work standards regarding treatment actions for products and material handling. The implementation of the proposal has succeeded in reducing the defect rate from 11% to 9.72%.

Abstract

PT.  X is a company that engaged in the production and distribution of motorbikes.  This research was conducted in the LDD department, where the department supports the distribution process of motorcycle at PT.  X. The role of the LDD department is to ensure the distribution process of motorbikes, so that motorbikes can reach the hands of consumers well.  The LDD Department expects a working system that is more effective, efficient, and transparent in monitoring so that units that are not unfilled are low.  Problems will be identified by using fishbone diagrams, where the results of the identification are found to be three main problems that occurs in the LDD department.  The main problem is the opening of DO is not in accordance with the capacity of the truck, the truck does not come to take up the DO units that have been opened, and the trucks that come cannot be carried out the loading process directly.  The improvements are made by digitizing the distribution process by Logistic 4.0 principle or designing the Transportation Management System (TMS).  TMS is a system designed with the aim that the distribution process can be easily tracked and monitored.  TMS will also connect related parties that previously sought manually.  The distribution process is expected to be improved to be more effective, efficient and transparent

Abstract

PT Alam Jaya Seafood is a company that manufactures frozen food, especially seafood. PT. Alam Jaya Seafood is looking to expand the market into the international market especially the european market. Unfortuneately PT. Alam Jaya Seafood can’t penetrate the European market because they doesn’t have a quality assurance system. Two of the most common quality assurance system needed to enter is British Retail Consortium and ISO 9001:2015. ISO 9001:2015 is one of the qulity assurance that PT. Alam Jaya Seafood needed, therefore this thesis was conducted.  The Result of the initial gap analysis shows that PT. Alam Jaya Seafood fullfilled 37.5% of the clauses. After the fullfillment and implementation, pre-audit was conducted at the end of the thesis. The pre-audit shows that the fullfilment have increased to 81.25%. This Pre-Audit was conducted to prepare PT. Alam Jaya Seafood for the real audit that needed in order to achieve the certification.

Abstract

This research was conducted to design a database and data visualization from the Jumpstart program at PT. X. Jumpstart is a new employee orientation program at PT. X where workers perform and fill in the content according to the timeline provided by the company. The purpose of this Jumpstart program is to introduce and understand what needs can be given to new employees during the orientation process within the company. The Jumpstart program however has some problems in terms of data processing, has difficulty processing the results of responses that are processed in Google Spreadsheets. This problem can be fixed by designing a database and data visualization that processes data based on the results of these responses. The data processed in the database can be monitored in real-time by the company in accordance with the data of new workers in PT. X, this is to facilitate the flow of coordination between each party in the Jumpstart program and ensure the Jumpstart program runs well. The data that is processed in this database will be displayed in the form of data visualization to make it easier for users to draw conclusions according to the existing results. The results of this database and data visualization can help companies understand the performance of new workers in performing at Jumpstart program and also help users to follow up on areas within the companies' reach.

Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in the production of cosmetic packaging. The problem faced by the company is the changeover time of the Novax AD Machine which exceeds the company’s target. The company has made improvements to the engine changeover activity. The changeover time after implementation of the improvement still exceeds the target set by the company. The purpose of this research is to provide a changeover design to reduce the changeover time. The methods used are Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) and Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC). Activities carried out for repairs are preparation activities, color actions, blower settings, and printing area positioning. Improvement efforts made by the author are the use of a colorimeter, torque wrench, the use of a special box for setup equipment, and the application of a maintenance blower. Control of proposed improvements is by making tool use guidelines and a checklist for the blower maintenance schedule. Implementation cannot be done because there is no setup schedule. The making of proposal has been discussed with the head of production who understands the machine setup in detail. The proposal is believed to reduce the changeover time because it has answered the root cause of each setup activity.

Abstract

PT X is a manufacturing company that produce healthcare product such as medicated and non-medicated plaster. The company do not have occupational health and safety division yet, so there was several dangerous accident that have occurred. Risk analysis is carried out to detect potential risk before accident happened. Risk analysis hopefully could make a sense of security and comfort for the employees that work there. The research begins with a literature study on HIRARC, company observations, hazard identification, risk assessment, then risk control. Risk control will be validated first by the company. If it is valid then an assessment will be carried out to see the estimated reduction of risk value after the risk control is implemented. The result of risk analysis is that, there are several potential hazards in the poduction area. The potential divided into 10 mild potential, 13 moderate potential, 6 significant potential, and 2 high risk potential. Risk controls are designed using risk control hierarchy that is elimination, substitute, technical design, administrative engineering, and personal protective equipment (PPE). After risk control is done, the risk reduction forecast is moderate potential become 1, significant potential become 3, and high risk potential is none.

Abstract

PT. Pelindo III, Benoa, Bali is a company engaged in logistics services or can be referred to as a dock or port managed by Indonesian SOEs. The problem that occurs is that workers or employees do multitasking in carrying out job descriptions. This research was conducted so that the multitasking job description can be carried out properly and optimally. Researchers identify and analyze job descriptions and job competencies, so that job descriptions designed based on employee competence in accordance with the abilities and skills of each employee. There are some job descriptions that are designed that are not appropriate, such as job descriptions for managers, because some of the job descriptions that are carried out should be carried out by the security division. The job description will be readjusted once the Security Division has been established. The redesigned job description can be said to be quite good and can be accepted by every employee who performs a multitasking job description.

Abstract

CV Penjunan Sejahtera is a company engaged in the service sector. Based on the results of interviews with company owners, it was found that there have been work accidents several times since the company's inception until now. Document design using the HIRARC method aims to assist CV Penjunan Sejahtera in identifying various work activities that have potential hazards, by providing a risk assessment of these potential hazards, as well as providing suggestions for improving risk control. The results of the design of the HIRARC document indicate that there are still many potentially hazardous work activities at each existing workstation. The activities include an activity with a low risk level of one event, a moderate risk level of 15 events, and a significant risk level of 19 events. Then the risk control stage will be carried out which aims to minimize the risk of potential hazards in five ways, namely elimination, substitution, technical engineering, administrative, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The risk rating reduction forecast is an estimate, if the risk control that has been proposed by the researcher is carried out by the company, then the reduction in the risk level which was initially quite dangerous becomes significantly reduced.

Abstract

PT Anugerah Rimba Raya is a wood processing company that doesn’t have work hazard identification document. The company’s previous accidents report showed that there were 19 accidents that occurred from 2018 to 2020. The design of the HIRARC document aims to identify the types of hazards that can occur in the work environment, to evaluate the magnitude of the risks and its impacts, and to document the efforts of hazard control in order to minimize hazard potential.  The source of data collected during hazard identification stage will be carried out by direct observation, crew interviews, and company’s previous accident record. Futhermore, at the risk assessment stage, 2 parameters will be used, probability and severity. The assessment stage will divide hazard risk into different levels which is extreme risk, high risk, medium risk, low risk. After that, the risk control will be carried out based on the control hierarchy which is divided into elimination, substitution, technical design, administrative control, personal protective equipment. The prediction result of reduction risk levels after proposed controls showed a decrease in the level of risk that existed before.
