Abstract

PT. X is a company that has long been engaged in the glass manufacturing business and has several production plants. One of the plants of PT. X., which produces industrial glass have been had delivery lateness around 57% of all orders that have been received during January to May 2021. One of the factors that made lateness in delivery was came from the lack ability from Production Department to fulfil orders because the schedule for each machine did not made regularly. This research wishes to be able to give a scheduling improvement that can lower the rate of delivery lateness. The actual scheduling condition in that plant is done by manually moving the prioritized items  with Microsoft Excel program. This research will discuss the proposed Flexible Flowshop scheduling using Microsoft Excel VBA program with the objective function of minimizing the total weighted number of tardy jobs. The results of the proposed scheduling with the Microsoft Excel VBA program have a 25% better solution than the actual method. In addition, this method can shorten the working time of PPIC staff in generating scheduling for each machine.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that is happening all around the world has led into a huge chaos on systems. WHO (World Health Organization) provides recommendations on what features should be considered in the manufacture of non-medical masks. The desire of public (customers) is also considered important in determining the design of non-medical masks. Voice of customers on the design of non-medical masks which are found out using questionnaires. The results of the questionnaire or voice of the customer are then processed using Quality Function Development. Then try to solve the contradicting functions using TRIZ. The characteristics of non-medical masks that are desired by the public are masks that cover the nose and mouth, comfortable earloops, masks that block droplets, masks that have good durability and are not easily damaged, masks have no barriers and can breathe easily, keep the user's nose and mouth dry, according to the price, adjust the shape of the mask, and adjust the design. Of the three non-medical mask design proposals, non-medical mask design 1 is the result of a design that is widely chosen by the community because it is in accordance with their wishes and is considered safer.

Abstract

PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (PTTMMIN) is one of the major companies in Indonesia engaged in the automotive sector. PT TMMIN acts as a manufacturer and also as an exporter of cars and Toyota components. One component exported by PT TMMIN is a sample part which the component used as a trial for new project in the other Toyota affiliation. Export documents from sample parts called Sample Part Order (SPO). During handling, there are some SPO delayed which will have an impact on the company's Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and the image of PT TMMIN in the global affiliate as an exporter. An analysis to solve problems use Toyota Business Practice (TBP) tools and problem tree diagram. The improvements are summary of SPO, renewal of new phase 1 workflows, and weekly progress. The improvements have a positive effect, which reduce days of delay from 15 days to 0 days in the part confirmation, exporter reply delay decreasing from 71% on November 2018 into 0% delay on May 2019, also reducing delay shipment by 25% from November 2018 to 17% on May 2019. Expectations from the design of new information systems are to re-reduce the number of delays from SPO and facilitate the SPO handling process which benefits to PT TMMIN.

Abstract

Sago is a common food consumed by Papuans living in coastal areas. Sago is usually used for household consumption and sold in traditional markets. The Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, SME & Manpower, Papua Province has a program to help small industries in Papua. A feasibility test will be conducted to determine whether the Wet Sago Processing Business is feasible or not. There are three parameters used in this test, which is market feasibility, technical feasibility, and financial feasibility. Market feasibility will be evaluated from the SPT (segmentation, position, and target). Technical feasibility will be seen from operational management, production process, production location, and production layout. Financial feasibility will be assessed through the payback period, NPV, and IRR. From the the research,  it is known that the wet sago processing business in Papua is feasible if the capacity is increased by adding the sedimentation facilitiy

Abstract

PT Anugerah Rimba Raya is a wood processing company that doesn’t have work hazard identification document. The company’s previous accidents report showed that there were 19 accidents that occurred from 2018 to 2020. The design of the HIRARC document aims to identify the types of hazards that can occur in the work environment, to evaluate the magnitude of the risks and its impacts, and to document the efforts of hazard control in order to minimize hazard potential.  The source of data collected during hazard identification stage will be carried out by direct observation, crew interviews, and company’s previous accident record. Futhermore, at the risk assessment stage, 2 parameters will be used, probability and severity. The assessment stage will divide hazard risk into different levels which is extreme risk, high risk, medium risk, low risk. After that, the risk control will be carried out based on the control hierarchy which is divided into elimination, substitution, technical design, administrative control, personal protective equipment. The prediction result of reduction risk levels after proposed controls showed a decrease in the level of risk that existed before.

Abstract

PT SEMB is a company that works in the production of electrical components related to energy management and automation. The problem that occurs is the order made in the present conditions is still not optimal, causing the inventory level to be high. The study was conducted to help the company to be able to reduce the inventory costs and transportation costs. Direct delivery is a system that helps to reduce the inventory level and cost to the cost of goods ordered. The simulation that has been done for direct system can provide savings of up to 50,000 USD. Savings obtained from this direct system if applied to all local suppliers will reduce the cost of 280,000 USD compared to the current conditions. In addition, milk-run studies are also used to material pick-up methods. This method can also reduce the transportation costs until 900 USD.

Abstract

One of the problems in the Hong Kong ice cream factory is work accidents, the absence of K3 management makes the handling of K3 cases not done properly. Designing a Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) document is a way to help Hong Kong ice cream factories deal with K3 problems. The design of the HIRARC document begins with direct observations and interviews with factory residents, besides that the author also asks for OHS data from the company if any. Risk assessment and analysis of the case findings obtained, to determine what activities are high risk so that risk control is carried out immediately. Risk control is a suggestion from the author and the result of the approval of the factory management. The results of this final project result in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control on findings that have a medium risk rating, and reduce the risk level from medium to low.

Abstract

PT X is one of fast moving consumer goods company in the tobacco industry. Since 2018, PT X has started to launch new product (project launching) in various city in Indonesia. This projects have given impact for several department, including recruitment department for employee fulfilment. Fulfilment process was difficult to do because turnover rate was more than 40%. Pareto’s result shows three main reasons that influence employee to leave the company. The reasons are disciplinary action, unclear status and benefit, and performance issue. The root causes of the three main reasons are identified by 5 whys analysis and analysis of employee characteristics through Cramer’s V test and crosstab. Based of analysis, the root causes are the company didn’t have job description, employees don’t have many experiences, training just is given in the beginning of project and unequal, the company doesn’t have a clear appraisal for employee performance, engagement rate is low and there isn’t salary invoice. Based on the root causes of employee turnover, the solutions that can offer are making job description and spesification, making training guidelines, implementing 360° assessments, giving rewards and giving salary invoice. Five solutions are expected to reduce employee turnover rate of employee project PT X.

Abstract

PT. X is a gas industry in which the company wants to know the work load ratio of each of the administrative positions in administrative positions in it’s retails for the purpose of manpower efficiency. PT. X did not have data related to work load of several positions. Therefore, this research aims to calculate the work load for several positions in several retailers in East Java. The research was conducted in two retails and in five positions. The data collecting technique is done by using work sampling method. Data processing is carried out using the Work load Analysis method. The results showed that there were four positions categorized as underload. Analysis was done at two position which had the smallest work load. It is found that the root problems are small workplace and bad workflow. The proposed improvements are centralizing of filling station and improving workflow.
