Abstract

This research covers how is the political life of Samin women. It also tries to answer what are factors which influence them to implement the traditional beliefs in their political life. The researcher uses some alternative models to undertake this research, such as ethnomethodology, ethnography, grounded, and phenomenology. The data are analyzed by using qualitative approach to understand the social activities of Samin women in Kudus in terms of general election. It is found that Samin women are very active in their political life. Their activeness are influenced by some factors such as: from theirselves, from their husbands and f­rom the Samin leaders. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This review is phenomenalist –critical, reviewing the social structure of women in society which is in fact still a second person. However, the real form of their roles cannot be “overlooked”. Within this context, it takes a firm stance of the women to be “creative women.” Forms of creativity can be actualized in three forms, namely: action, caring and independent. Forms of action embodied in concrete measures undertaken. Care as the actualization of the attitude responsive to social conditions. Abstract

The division of­ roles of­ men and women particularly within the scope of the household becomes a crucial problem, especially if it is viewed from a gender perspective. And the extent to which equality is to fulfill a sense of justice for each part--husband and wife--in American households will be studied further.Feminism has changed the lives of American society in many aspects to come an equality so that men and women are in the same position. Abstract

One of things which establish gender injustice comes from the inaccuracy of reading religious texts included in the Islamic religious texts that are not friendly toward women. This paper discusses a new reading proposed by some Feminist Muslim. It will be reviewed through the interpretation of the creation of women, leadership and woman as wittnesses. Abstract

ABSTRACT: In today’s world, the existence of female circumcision is still in debate. It is called voluntary female circumcision or it is also known as Female Genital Mutilation(FGM). Here, female circumcision is often associated with religious teachings and traditions of society that must always be maintained. For some f­eminists, f­emale circumcision is considered as the practice of violence that should be eliminated from society. Community culture and religious traditions that have been more nuanced patriarchal, became the legitimacy of the continuity of this practice. This paper describes some trends of circumcision, implementation of women, the religious dimension, tradition and critical review of this practice. Abstract

Persolan/isu gender merupakan topik sering diperbincangkan, namun tidak banyak yang mengkajinya dari sudut pandang bahasa. Para pakar ilmu bahasa sejak lama sudah tertarik untuk menganalis apakah ada perbedaan antara bahasa laki-laki dan perempuan di lihat dari sudut pandang sosiolinguistik. Beberapa ada yang sepakat bahwa laki-laki dan perempuan berbahasa secara berbeda, tetapi ada juga yang tidak menyetujui pendapat tersebut. Namun ternyata secara luas diterima bahwa laki-laki dan perempuan berbahasa secara berbeda. Anang Santoso, yang merupakan seorang dosen atau staf pengajar di jurusan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Sastra, Universitas Negeri Malang, adalah salah satu orang yang tertarik menganalisa relasi bahasa dengan gender yaitu tentang “konstruksi ideologi dalam bahasa perempuan” yang merupakan hasil penelitian multi-years selama dua tahun mulai 2006-2008. Kajian terhadap ideologi melalui bahasa perempuan dilakukan agar dapat diketahui bagaimana sebenarnya perempuan melihat dan menafsirkan dunia atau realitas, apa yang dianggap penting dan tidak penting, dan sebagainya.

Abstract

A domestic Worker (PRT) is anyone who works within the scope of the household either male or female, young or old, even a child. Actually, they have given a huge contribution to their family in Indonesia, and donated income for the country. But on top of legal documents, they are not recognized by the Labor Law as an appropriate form of formal employment that deserve to be given protection by the existing laws and regulations. In the Islamic perspective, women and men are required to work in accordance with the potential and capacity in order to obtain a decent living or to meet family needs. Al Quran does not mention a specific job for a certain gender. Women and men can work inside or outside the home. Working as a domestic worker is not lower than other professions as long as conducted by and for the good purpose. Keywords: Domestic Workers (PRT), Islamic Perspectives.

Abstract

This research focuses on an old yellow book which has been very popular in the Indonesian Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). It is Uqud Al-Lujayn fi Huquq al-Zawjayn of Nawawi al-Banteni. As a book which dealts with the right and obligation of a couple in Islam, there are some illustrate women’s sexuality which can be discussed in four forms, namely self identity, sexual action, sexual behavior and sexual orientation. This research get a concluding remark that Nawawi’s view on women’s sexuality depend on his zeitgeist, so we need some attempts to reconstruct Nawawi’s view on women’s sexuality in Pesantren by rereading Islamic text. Abstract

Kita sadari atau tidak, fakta kehidupan dalam masyarakat kita terdapat akar sejarah yang panjang mengenai dominasi laki-laki atas perempuan, di mana dalam sebagian besar sektor yang dibangun adalah berlandaskan pada tatanan yang timpang juga, yaitu tatanan nilai yang menjadikan laki-laki ditempatkan sebagai pihak superior (kuat) dan sebaliknya perempuan harus menerima kenyataan menjadi pihak yang inf­erior (lemah). Tatanan ini terbentuk dengan proses panjang dalam lingkungan sosial budaya di sekitar kita sendiri. Laki-laki dan perempuan seringnya dibedakan karena faktor biologis (jenis kelamin) yang dimiliki, dan perbedaan inilah yang kemudian ditradisikan menjadi ajang untuk menjadikan perempuan menjadi sosok yang lemah, kalah, dan belakang. Parahnya kemudian, pemahaman inilah yang selama ini dianggap sebagai gender, padahal gender adalah bukan perbedaan peran laki-laki dan perempuan yang didasarkan pada faktor biologis (apalagi karena faktor beda jenis kelamin) akan tetapi didasarkan pada hasil konstruk sosial dan bukan ciptaan Tuhan. Artinya telah sekian lama terjadi bias atau bahkan kesalahan) dalam memahami gender karena perbedaan secara biologis itu bersifat kodrati, dimana laki-laki mempunyai penis dan perempuan mempunyai vagina, dan lain sebagainya

Abstract

The thing which always appear and accompany the democratic party of this nation is the existence of money politics. Despite the various monitoring organizations shared, supervisory agency deployed, and the rules regarding the prohibition of money politics has been made, but in fact money politics still exist and could not be eliminated. This paper tries to reveal the of women’s views about the existence of money politics and factors - factors that influence their political views personal narratively. Based on data obtained from female informants above, then the women’s attitudes and purports toward money politics can be divided into three groups. First, rejecting money politics; second, accepting money politics and making money as a determinant factor of political choice; third, accepting money politics but not affecting their political choices.
