Abstract

Students’ ability for thinking creatively is very important due to highly support the increase of global competition in the current digital era. However, the condition of students' creative thinking abilities is still relatively low, which strongly leads the learning program that can explore the competence of students' creative thinking abilities, one of which is by using open-ended questions under the Bengkulu context. This study aims to produce open-ended questions on mathematical creative thinking skills that are valid and practical. This research was development research by using the 1993 Tessmer development model (modified by Zulkardi, 2006). In this study, the stages used preliminary, self-evaluation, expert review, and one-to-one. The test subjects of this study were class VIII Junior High School students. This research was conducted from June to July 2021. The data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative analysis. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a mathematics learning tool in the form of the lesson plan and student's worksheet using the guided discovery method on the circle material of class VIII junior high school which has been tested valid. This development refers to the Research and Development (RD) model which includes 10 stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials, design revisions, usage trials, product revisions, and mass production. Modified according to the needs of this research into 6 stages, namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and final product. The data analysis technique used is the descriptive analysis technique. The validation sheet was used as a data collection instrument in this research. The validation sheet is filled out by 3 validators consisting of 2 lecturers of the mathematics education study program FKIP UIR and 1 mathematics teacher. Based on the results of the lesson plan validation, a percentage of 85.6% was obtained with very valid criteria, while the students’ worksheet validation results were 82.6% with fairly valid criteria. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts, especially on social arithmetic material. The purpose of this study was to describe the stages of the metaphorical thinking approach method and the magnitude of the increase in students' conceptual understanding of social arithmetic material. The data collection method used in this classroom action research (CAR) includes written tests and observations in each cycle. The research instruments used were lesson plans, worksheets, question sheets, and observation sheets for the implementation of learning in each cycle. The research subjects were students of class VII in one of the madrasah tsanawiyah in Lamongan as many as 23 students. Based on the results of data analysis, the classical student activity assessment increased 23.85% from 66.25% to 90.1%. Student test results also increased by 34.8%, namely from cycle I it reached 47.8% and cycle II reached 82.6%, with the results achieved can be declared complete, and it can be concluded that in online mathematics learning there is an increase in understanding concept in class VII madrasah tsanawiyah in Lamongan by using the application of Metaphorical Thinking. Keywords:  concept understanding; metaphorical thinking; online learningDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/mtk/v9i4.pp386-396

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the results of research on the design of Scratch-based learning media on the topic of the Greatest Commonwealth Factor (FPB). This study uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) development model through six stages, namely concept, design, collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Furthermore, to find out the student's response to the media that has been designed so that a research instrument is used in the form of a questionnaire via Google Form and given in 2021. Research participants are students at one of the junior high schools in the city of Bekasi, West Java. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the learning media for the topic of FPB mathematics can be well designed through the MDLC development model through six stages. In addition, it is known that the student's response to the media that has been designed is positive. Abstract

This action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Number Theory in Mathematics Education students in the Even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year through STAD-type cooperative learning. The research was conducted at the Mathematics Education Study Program, MIPA Education Department, FKIP University of Lampung. Data were collected through tests and also activity observations to see their contribution to the learning outcomes. The test was carried out after three lessons were carried out at the end of each cycle. The final cycle test was conducted to see student learning outcomes after the implementation of STAD-type cooperative learning. Based on the test results, individual improvement points, awards are determined, as well as determine the increase in learning outcomes of participants in each cycle. The results of data analysis concluded that STAD-type cooperative learning can improve Number Theory learning outcomes in Mathematics Education students in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.
