Abstract

Along with the development of Twitter, there is an autobase that have a functions as an intermediary medium for Twitter users. @collegemenfess is the largest autobase account that share information based on the needs of students and disseminating about Kampus Merdeka activities. The purpose of this study is to describe whether there is an effect of using Twitter @collegemenfess on students' interest in participating in Kampus Merdeka activities. This study using uses and effect theories as well as explanative quantitative methods by survey and measuring up to 100 respondents. The data analysis used simple linear regression analysis with SPSS 26. The result of the study shows the impact of @collegemenfess' twitter account on the interest of university students following 58% of Kampus Merdeka activities. There is a positive and unionized influence on the use of twitter account @collegemenfess on the interest of students attending free Kampus Merdeka Keywords: Social Media, Twitter @collegemenfess, Kampus Merdeka, Interest

Abstract

Creative strategy is a planning carried out to achieve a specific goal to be achieved in an advertising. The problems want to be appointed is the thing that concerned with creative strategy Indoeskrim Nusantara "Kisah Legenda Nusantara" ads in cooperation with MullenLowe Indonesia as advertising agency that created the ads. While the aim of research is to find out how creative advertising strategy "Kisah Legenda Nusantara" ads to build brand awareness for Indoeskrim Nusantara. Researchers also use the Belch theory for the exploration of big ideas and the attractiveness of advertising. And using theory advertising in Morrisan’s book that describes ad execution.The research method used is a case study with a type of descriptive research and qualitative approaches. Techniques of data collection was in-depth interviews with some of the data sources and some documentation writers. The results of the study conclude that the creative strategy of the advertisement "Kisah Legenda Nusantara" uses the appeal of 'superior sense' (rational) of authentic Indonesian taste and the emotional appeal of integration that uses a contradictory combination of colossal (nostalgic) and contemporary elements (relevance). In execution in absurd humor, slice of life and dramatization.

Abstract

Indonesia's Next Top Model Cycle 2 is a reality show program with an R13+ rating and aired during prime time, but this program has verbal violence in it. This study aims to describe the verbal violence displayed in Indonesia's Next Top Model Cycle 2. This qualitative research using John Fiske's semiotic analysis focuses on episodes 1, 32, and 38. Based on the results of the research, the dominant verbal violence seen is 1) cursing with harsh expressions/yelling with a high tone of voice, 2) insulting/mocking, 3) demonizing someone behind, and 4) humiliating/cornering in front of others. At the level of reality, verbal violence is seen in dialog, expressions, and the environment. Verbal violence is also highlighted in the aspects of camera, sound, editing, and lighting. Abstract

Television is one of the most common media for Indonesian citizens. Almost all citizens have television and at least watched television. There are varieties of content in television, and advertisement is one of the most seen contents. One of the most seen advertisements in television is online e-commerce advertisements. Some e-commerces that actively advertising through television are Shopee and Tokopedia. This study aims to compare the effectivity of Shopee and Tokopedia e-commerce Shopee and Tokopedia advertising in television to citizen in Surabaya. This study is using positivist paradigm with descriptive-quantitative method. This study is taking sample by using non-probability sampling and using purposive sampling method. Data was collected by distributing questionnaire. This study is using several analytical techniques to analyse the data, specifically by using arithmetic means analytical technique, and average difference T-test, and conclusion. This study shows different effectivity in Shopee and Tokopedia e-commerce advertising in television on Surabaya citizens. This study shows average score EPIC Model dimension where Shopee e-commerce advertisements excel Tokopedia e-commerce advertisement by 0,06.Keywords: Shopee, Tokopedia, Advertisement through Television, Surabaya Citizen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai eksistensi Pura Taman Sari, struktur dari Pura Taman Sari, dan hubungan komunikasi antar umat beragama di Pura Taman Sari Kelurahan Kampung Baru Kecamatan Buleleng (Kajian Komunikasi Budaya Hindu). Jenis penelitian yang dipergunakan adalah dengan penelitian kualitatif, untuk menentukan informan menggunakan metode purposive snowball di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara yang mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diperiksa dengan teknik triangulasi. Pura Taman Sari dari sejak berdiri sampai sekarang masih eksis sesuai dengan teori struktural fungsional. Struktur pura mengikuti konsep Tri Mandala, yaitu nista mandala, madya mandala, dan utama mandala. Pura Taman Sari memiliki beberapa fungsi, yaitu: fungsi agama, fungsi religi, fungsi moral, fungsi budaya, dan fungsi sosial. Pura Taman Sari memiliki makna secara teologis, estetika, dan makna kesejahteraan. Untuk prosesi pelaksanaan piodalan dapat dijelaskan bahwa piodalan dilaksanakan setahun sekali yaitu pada Purnama Kalima. Teori komunikasi Lasswell juga banyak diterapkan hampir di setiap kegiatan/interaksi antara jro mangku, panitia, prajuru, dan krama pamaksan pura dengan umat non-Hindu yang dilakukan secara langsung maupun melalui media sosial. Dari semua tahapan prosesi piodalan maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di sekitar pura, ditemukan beberapa kegiatan atau interaksi sosial relegius yang sesuai dengan teori komunikasi budaya Hindu, seperti misalnya implementasi teori komunikasi antar kelompok terhadap aktivitas persembahyangan umat beragama Hindu dengan nonHindu yang “khusuk dan hidmat”. Kata kunci: Eksistensi, Struktur dari Pura Taman Sari, dan Komunikasi Budaya Hindu.

Abstract

The role of women on equality and gender relations is often raised as an object in the mass media, including the song lyrics. The description in the story are still in the subordinations and often creates stereotypes in the society. If this is not criticized it will be considered as natural and reasonable. In the future it can create a structure and system of gender injustice that is accepted and normalized as if nothing is wrong. The theme song of Bu Darmi is about women, especially Balinese women. This song tells about the life of the character bu Darmi, a Balinese woman who lives in an environment with thick culture and patriarchal system. In this song, Balinese women are described through two sides, there are in the private and public spheres. This study aims to explain the hidden meaning behind the song lyrics of Bu Darmi by Nosstress that have a corelations into the representation of women. This research using a qualitative approach with a Roland Barthes’s semiotic theory and representation theory from Stuart Hall, The results of this research signifies that Bu Darmi’s song describes the reality of the problems experienced by Balinese people related to patriarchal culture, women and the political ecology that occurs in Bali. Women conduct multidimensional and multigender plays as a women, labour, social society as well as arrange of several religious rituals.

Abstract

Ubud area is a world-class tourism destination, which in its sustainability and development requires support from all aspects of stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the public relations strategy that has been implemented by the Bina Wisata Kelurahan Ubud Foundation as a social institution in Ubud Village area which historically played a strategic role in the direction and development of tourism in Ubud. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. The results showed that, it has implemented a public relations strategy in the foundation's activities and the General Chairperson acts as a communication facilitator in public relations. The public relations strategy is carried out through the foundation's communication program which focuses on public relations activities; 1) Relationship with Other Publics, Community Relations, Government Relations, and Industrial Relations; 2) Investor Relations; and 3) Miscellaneous Activities and needs to expand public relations activities, especially increasing publications and public opinion research. Abstract

This study discusses the Virtual Communication Patterns for Users of the Nimo TV Application During a Pandemic. This study aims to look at the communication patterns that occur between the host and viewer who carry out the virtual communication process without face-to-face during a pandemic through live streaming media. The research conducted is descriptive qualitative using observation and interview methods as the host and viewer in order to obtain data that is in accordance with the research. The results of this study indicate that the communication pattern that occurs between the host and viewer in the Nimo TV live streaming application is a two-way traffic communication pattern with the type of public communication. As for this study, it was found that the success factors and the obstacle factors for the occurrence of virtual communication in the Nimo TV live streaming application. Abstract

Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel is the oldest 5-star hotel in Bali's Kuta Beach area. Despite the pandemic, it still attracts tourists because of its corporate image of being a "Hotel Vintage yang Modern." This study examines the integrated marketing communication (IMC) strategy used by the hotel to establish this image. The concept used in this study is Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) using a qualitative descriptive method with a post-positivism paradigm. Data collection techniques were carried out using semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation and document studies. Findings show that Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel Bali implements the marketing mix concept, encompassing product, price, place, and promotion. Their promotional mix combines advertising, internet marketing, public relations, sales promotion, direct marketing, events and experiences, word-of-mout and personal selling. However, the integrated marketing communication strategy that has been carried out by DKPH Bali has not been able to describe the image as a “Hotel Vintage yang Modern” because it contains more cultural elements than the “vintage” itself. Abstract

Film is part of mass communication, which is often used as a medium to describe social life in society. Films are often used to address important issues that need to be discussed or shared with the public. The film also talks about the role of women in the media, which focuses on the struggle to maintain gender equality for all women in the world. This research contains a framework for liberal and radical feminism in fighting for societal issues that emphasize equality of opportunity and rights for every individual, especially women, as well as resistance of oppression by men are represented in a film called “Gangubai Kathiawadi”. This film represents this phenomenon through a social issue drama genre film. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce's Triangle of Meaning Theory. The results of this research are that “Gangubai Kathiawadi” is an Indian film that dominantly represents liberal feminism. Keywords: Feminism, Film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Semiotics.
