Abstract

As  one  of  traditional  community  in  Indonesia,  Lare  Osing  of  Kemiren Village  is  capable  of  maintaining  their  local  identity  while  welcoming  the ever-improving  modern  technology  and  information.  Their  natural characteristic  is  indicated  by  their  still-existing traditional  social institutions which claim relatively high position in the community. However, the  community  somehow  manages  to  open  themselves  towards  a  more modern and sophisticated form of institution. The objective of this writing is to  describe  the  Communication  Pattern  of  Osing  Community  of  Kemiren Village  of  Glagah  Subsdistrict  of  Banyuwangi  Regency,  East  Java  in  the mass media age.

Abstract

Series of ads that appear in printed media, electronic, and internet diverse increasingly  and  of  course  we  can  not  deny  its  existence.  Most  of  the advertising icon is  using the  profile of women as  an object.  Even  women icon  sometimes  is  displayed  only  and  no  links/  anything  to  do  with  the product  being  advertised.  Overall  the  product  ads  directly  related  to women  are  aimed  to  attract  attention,  exploit  the  female  body,  degrade women,  and  even  provide  examples  of  sexual  harassment.  Besides  those cases,  women  also  made  the  largest  consumer  advertising  products.  And the  most  pitiful  representation  of  women  in  the  ads,  which  portrayals  of women in  the  ads are  always,  sought perfection and  automatically it  will present  camouflage  to  the  real  world  of  women.  The  fact  that  popular culture  products  capable  of  twisted  woman  was  already  familiar  to  the public. Therefore, we require a study that could uphold women. There was a  study  which  until  now  has  not  been  reviewed  by  a  group  of  feminism, which is about the strength of women. This study said that woman must be held to prove that she was able to exist in the lives of men and the growing popular culture products.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of the many problems of political advertising in  the  form  of  billboards  that  use  pictures  legislator  candidates  supported  by  the visualization  of  images  the  artist  as  an  endorser  of  political  advertising.  The phenomenon of the use of photographs and photo artists candidate in political ads we encounter in the aftermath of reform. Before thereform era, we see only the logo image and the image of political parties only in billboard advertisements of political parties. The  study,  observed  four billboard  ads  that  use prospective legislators  as endorsernya artist. Roland Barthess semiotic theory is used to analyze political ads is  to  know  the  meaning  of  the  sign  is  coded  and  not coded  in  the  four  studied political  advertising.  Meanwhile,  the  methodology  used  is  descriptive  qualitative research methodology. Abstract

Ethic actually is a dialog between freedom and responbility, between destination and methods to get it. Although there are regulation toregulate about proffesion ethic, but media user often don’t follow it. We can see from news in mass media which is saw not suitable  with  ethic  code  in  regulation.  One  of  it  is  connected  with  pornography publication in mass media. The interest to get maximal capital is one cause of it. The effect, public become victims from it especially cildren and adolescent.  Based on the introduction,  the  issues  raised  in  this  article  is  how  the  image  of  pornographic publications  in  mass  media  in  Indonesia  are  considered  to  violate  the  formal journalistic code of ethics applicable. Abstract

Soap opera is one of the the most popular products of mass media (television). ”Si Doel Anak Sekolahan”  is  one  of  the  most  famous  Indonesia  soap opera.  Meanwhile,  one  of  the  mass media  function  is  socialization/  transmission  of  social  values  function,  in  which  the  mass media display the values held by certain people in  it’s program, which later, audiences will adopt them into their daily lives. Romantic relationship is one the relationship that is created from the process of interpersonal communication between people. On the other hand, soap opera consists of many values of the romantic relationship. This study findings are: there are 4  values  of  romantic  relationship  which  is  shown  in this  soap  opera,  which  is  love, commitment, passion constructive, and intimacy. Those values tend to embodied in non verbal language,  and  the  trend  is  still  within  in  the  limits  based  on  east  culture  of  Indonesia. Meanwhile, from three main characters involved in alove triangle story, a character who is described tends to apply romantic relationship values is Zaenab.
