Abstract

Depression is a psychiatric disorder most frequently encountered and the most common cause of morbidity and mortality compared with other psychiatric disorders. The physical and mental burden on medical students is quite heavy, because they must undergo preclinical studies along with hospital duties as a co-assistant. This constant disruption may have a tendency to cause depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence differences of depressive disorders in two co-assistant groups who have different external environments. This study is a descriptive analytic cross sectional approach undertaken in Denpasar Sanglah Hospital and Sanjiwani Hospital in February-March 2016 on medical students from two different universities. Data were collected using common questionnaires, Lie-Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (L-MMPI) and Beck’s Depression Inventory (BDI). Then the prevalence of depressive disorders was calculated in each group and the data analyzed by independent t-test. Total respondents of this study amounted to 68 people, each of 34 people in each group. The prevalence of depression of each of the 34 respondents was 35% (12 people) on a Udayana University co-assistant and by 32% (11 people) on a Warmadewa University co-assistant. With independent t-test results obtained p = 0.801 (p> 0.05) for a score of depression in Udayana University co-assistant and Warmadewa University co-assistant. The results show the value of p = 1.0 (p> 0.05) between the Udayana University co-assistant men and women, as well as the value of p = 0.285 (p> 0.05) between the Warmadewa University co-assistant men and women. The prevalence of depression in Udayana University co-assistant was 35% and 32% in Warmadewa University co-assistant. There was no significant difference between the average incidence of depression in Udayana University co-assistant and Warmadewa University co-assistant. It was also found that there was no significant relationship between the level of depression by gender.

Abstract

In Indonesia, breast cancer is the 2nd highest type of cancer. This study was conducted to know the correlation between breast cancer grading and lymphovascular invasion (LVI) with axillary lymph node metastases. This study was carried out by; 1) obtaining the sample from medical record and pathology anatomy examination report of breast cancer patient from RSUP Sanglah 2013, 2) examining the correlation between grading with axillary lymph node metastases and correlation between LVI with axillary lymph node metastases using chisquare, 3) Examining the strength of correlation between grading with axillary lymph node metastases and LVI with axillary lymph node metastases using RO. This study consists of 51 samples which diagnosed with advance breast cancer. The result of this study shows; 1) no correlation between grading with axillary lymph node metastases, 2) there is correlation between LVI with axillary lymph node metastases, 3) the strength of correlation between LVI with axillary lymph node metastases are RO=5.34 with the percentage of 84%.    In conclusion, LVI is correlated with axillary lymph node metastases. Further study about other factors which effecting the axillary lymph node metastases and the correlation of grading and LVI with axillary lymph node metastases in early breast cancer should be conducted in order to give more clear information.

Abstract

There were 2,1% of Indonesian population with diabetic in 2013. Diabetic nephropathy is the most severe complication with high mortality and morbidity. In diabetic type 2 patient, microalbuminuria was irreversible and 20-40% of the patients will have proteinuria. Proteinuria related to body mass index (BMI). Higher the BMI the more severe the degree of proteinuria in patient with type 2 diabetic. The study conducted to evaluate the nutritional status of the patients and its relation with degree of proteinuria in type 2 diabetic patient with diabetic nephropathy complication. The study was analytic cross sectional study. Subjects were selected using consecutive sampling. Forty-eightsamples were match inclusion criteria, according to subjective global assessment (SGA) 31 of them listed as good nutrition (A), 11 of them suspect malnutrition (B), and 6 of them malnutrition. According to BMI, 3 patients underweight, 30 patients normal, 13 patients overweight, and 2 patients obese I. The distribution of proteinuria degrees were 2 patients negative, 10 patients +1, 12 patients +2, 13 patients +3 and 11 patients +4. The result from chi-square analysis was found, there were no significant association between nutritional statuses according BMI with proteinuria degrees (p=1.00). Also there were no significant association between nutritional status according SGA with proteinuria (p=0.46). The result was caused by some factors such as samples number, factors that affecting proteinuria, and patient’s complication.

Tai Chi is a low impact low intensity dynamic stretch which can be selected as an exercise to improve flexibility. This study is analytic survey study with cross sectional approach on 30 female students to compare Udayana University students flexibility, with 15 female students regularly practice Tai Chi and 15 female students do not practice Tai Chi. Flexibility is measured by Takei Flexion-A sit and reach test. Mean age of Tai Chi group were 21±1,41 years and mean age of non Tai Chi group were 21±1,36 years. Mean body mass index were 21,37±1,85 dan 21,65±2,97 respectively on Tai Chi and non Tai Chi  groups. Normality test on two groups results were p>0,05 indicated the data distributed normally. Mean flexibility on Tai Chi group was 20,50±2,98cm, and non Tai Chi group was 1,33±7,35cm with mean difference of flexibility was 19,17cm. 95% confidence interval with lower limit of 14,97 and upper limit of 23,36. From independent t-test found significant difference of flexibility between Tai Chi and non Tai Chi group (p=0,000). Tai Chi, including warming up and stretching as its parts, could improve individual flexibility.
