Abstract

The pakcoy plant (Brassica rapa L) is an agricultural crop that is relatively short-lived and can be harvested in a short time. The high use of chemical fertilizers that have the potential to damage the soil is the main problem underlying this research because of this, it is important to find fertilizers that are not only effective but also environmentally friendly. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of gamal leaf liquid organic fertilizer and 50% NPK fertilizer on the growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L) plants. The method used was Group Random Design with 3 treatments of 100% inorganic fertilizer, 150 ml of POC + 50% NPK gamal leaves, 170ml POC of gamal leaves + 50% NPK, repeated for 9 replications. Observations observed included leaf count, leaf width, leaf length, wet weight, crown weight, root weight, and root length. Based on the results of the study, significant results were obtained in the observation of leaf length (cm) and root length (cm), while insignificant results were obtained in the observation of the number of leaves (strands), leaf width (cm), fresh weight (g), crown weight (g), and root weight (g). This study showed that the application of gamal leaves and NPK liquid organic fertilizer in combination gave results that were not significantly different from the application of pure NPK fertilizer in the observation of leaf count, leaf width, fresh weight, crown weight, and root weight, but showed significant differences in leaf length and width. The results of this research can be used as a reference to improve soil conditions and support sustainable agriculture that is environmentally friendly. Abstract

Organic waste is a serious problem in the Nagari Taram area, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province, so it is necessary to bioconvert organic waste into valuable goods. The organic waste bioconversion program aims to reduce waste generation while providing additional income to the community. The implementation method is carried out by demonstration so that partner communities can more easily carry out organic waste bioconversion practices. In this program, BSF maggots are used to decompose household waste and restaurant waste. The maggots produced can be used as animal feed, especially for poultry farming and fishing, which are the jobs of the majority of people in Nagari Taram. Maggot harvesting also produces a by-product in the form of cassava, which can be used as organic fertilizer. This program provides education to local communities about the economic potential of organic waste management and BSF maggot cultivation techniques. The results of this program show that BSF maggots have a high protein content, making them suitable as animal feed. Apart from that, the cassava produced also has benefits as an organic fertilizer. This program provides ideas and motivation to the community to develop their own agricultural, livestock and fisheries businesses using resources originating from BSF maggots, thereby improving the standard of living of the people of Nagari Taram

Abstract

Service to the Nagari Taram community which has the potential to be developed in utilizing organic waste. If organic waste is not utilized and left alone, of course, it can have a negative impact on the majority of the community. So the solution offered in Village Community Empowerment (P2MD) activities is training in the application of appropriate technology in managing organic waste such as making eco enzymes from remaining organic waste, cultivating magot with feed from organic waste. The population of activities in Nagari Taram with a sample of participants were women and men, youth and others, this activity was carried out in July 2023. The method of this activity was carried out in the form of open meetings and direct training in the activity room, namely the Wali Nagari Taram office hall. Open meetings and training held in the activity room with the learning by doing method. Data collection through filling out questionnaires, observation, and direct observation Questionnaire filling was given to training participants to get the value of respondents from the Nagari Taram community from the training activities carried out. The result of this activity is that participants learn to understand the material and are accompanied by practice in the form of discussion forums where participants ask questions and consult about the handling of organic waste from the upstream to downstream sectors, raising awareness of the Nagari Taram community to be able to utilize organic waste into a valuable material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of capital, ability, business location, marketing strategy and partnership system. The data formulation in this study uses quantitative descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that the factors of ability, business location, marketing strategy and partnership system influence the success of the business at Rendang UMKM in Payakumbuh City and the capital variable does not significantly influence the success of the business. Variable capital, ability, business location, marketing strategy and partnership system simultaneously (together) affect the success of the business as a dependent variable. This is evidenced by the results of the f test, obtained f arithmetic> f table that is 19,371> 2,621 or a probability of 0,000 <0.05. Then it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. statistical calculation of the coefficient of determination with the adjusted R Square value of 0.763 or 76.3%. This shows that the percentage contribution of the influence of independent variables namely capital, ability, business location, marketing strategy and partnership system to business success is 76.3% or the variation of the independent variables used is able to explain at 76.3% the dependent variation. While the remaining 23.7% is influenced by other variables not included in this research model.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a relatively short-lived agricultural crop that can be harvested in a short time. This study aims to find the concentration of pineapple peel POC nutrition and 50% NPK to replace the role of 100% NPK fertilizer and support the growth and yield of pakcoy plants. The research method used a Randomized Group Design with 4 treatments, namely P1: 100% inorganic fertilizer, P2: 240 mL pineapple peel POC/ 1 L of water + 50% NPK, P3: 260 mL pineapple peel POC/ 1 L of water + 50% NPK, P4: 280 mL pineapple peel POC/ 1 L of water + 50% NPK, six replication. Parameters observed were the number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, fresh weight, crown weight, root weight, and root length. Based on the results of the study, significant results were obtained in the observation parameter of leaf length (cm), fresh weight (g), root length (cm), while those that were not significant were in the observation parameters of the number of leaves (strands). Leaf width (cm), crown weight (g), root weight (g). From the results of the study, it was found that 260 ml of pineapple peel POC / 1 liter of water + 50% NPK was the best treatment level and could replace the role of 100% NPK. Based on this research, it is recommendded for pakcoy cultivation using nutrition 260 mL pineapple peel POC / 1 L of water + 50% NPK can increase plant growth and production as well as environmentally friendly.

Abstract

The concept of urban farming by using limited land in urban home gardens as agricultural land for vegetable production supports community food independence. Agricultural technology with a hydroponic cultivation system is a solution for producing healthy vegetables without chemical pesticides. The advantage of hydroponics is producing vegetables intensively. The aim of the service activity is to understand how to consume vegetables without chemical pesticides to support a healthy lifestyle and independence for urban communities in agricultural production using hydroponics. The implementation method is the extension method in the form of healthy food material without pesticides, urban farming material with hydroponic technology and demonstration methods for hydroponic vegetable cultivation. The activity was carried out in Tiakar Village, Payakumbuh City. The results of the activity obtained an increase in the percentage of community understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle by consuming food free from chemical pesticides, the community was able to practice cultivating healthy vegetables without chemical pesticides using hydroponic technology after being provided with education by the team.

Abstract

Green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) is a horticultural commodity with high economic value and nutritional content, but its productivity is still constrained by low soil fertility and heavy reliance on inorganic fertilisers. The use of Liquid Organic Fertiliser (POC) from chicken waste using the brewing method combined with cow manure is expected to be an alternative in increasing plant growth and production sustainably. This study aims to determine and analyse the effect of providing POC from chicken waste using the brewing method and cow manure on the growth and production of green mustard. The study was an experimental method with a Randomised Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments given included P0 (100% NPK), P1 (POC 250 ml/l + cow manure 10 tons/ha), P2 (POC 500 ml/l + cow manure 10 tons/ha), and P3 (POC 750 ml/l + cow manure 10 tons/ha). Data analysis used the ANOVA test at the probability error level = 0.05, and further testing using the 5% DMRT test. The results showed that the 100% NPK treatment produced the highest values for most growth and yield parameters. Among the organic fertiliser treatments, the application of 250 mL L⁻¹ chicken manure-based LOF produced by the brewing method combined with 10 t ha⁻¹ cow manure showed the most favourable growth and yield response. Therefore, this treatment is recommended as the best organic fertilization treatment tested in this study, although its performance remained lower than that of the 100% NPK treatment.

Abstract

Lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa L.) are a type of vegetable with high economic value. The community widely consumes them due to their many health benefits and ease of cultivation. This study aimed to determine the effect of the combination of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from gamal leaves + 50% NPK on the growth and production of lettuce as a substitute for 100% NPK fertilizer. The research was conducted at the State Agricultural Polytechnic of Payakumbuh from February to May 2025 using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four nutrient treatments: 100% NPK, 70 ml LOF/litre of water + 50% NPK, 100 ml LOF/litre of water + 50% NPK, and 130 ml LOF/litre of water + 50% NPK. Each treatment was repeated six times, resulting in 24 experimental units. The data obtained were analized with one-way ANOVA and further tested using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the provision of nutrients has a significant effect (p<0,05) on the fresh weight of leaves, canopy weight, root weight, and root length, but does not have a significant effect (p>0,05) on leaf width and length. It can be concluded that the use of 70 ml LOF/litre of water + 50% NPK has proven to be very effective in replacing 100% NPK, and can improve soil quality, supporting a sustainable agricultural system.

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L) is a horticultural commodity that is in great demand because of its high nutritional content. However, increasing lettuce plant production is often constrained by suboptimal soil conditions, such as organosol soil. One alternative that can be used to increase lettuce growth and production is to use ecoenzymes from kepok banana peels. This study aims to examine the effect of kepok banana peel ecoenzymes on lettuce plant growth and production in organosol soil. This study used the Randomized Block Design (RAD) method with three treatments of ecoenzyme administration at doses of 25 ml/liter, 30 ml/liter, and 35 ml/liter of water, and 9 replications. The results showed that administration of kepok banana peel ecoenzymes at a dose of 25 ml/liter gave the best results in increasing the number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, crown weight, and root weight of lettuce plants. Although it did not have a significant effect on fresh weight and root length, kepok banana peel ecoenzymes can be an effective alternative to increase lettuce plant growth. Based on these findings, the use of kepok banana peel ecoenzyme at the right dose can increase lettuce cultivation yields in organosol soil, as an alternative to environmentally friendly organic fertilizers.

Abstract

Percepatan pencapaian swasembada pangan berkelanjutan menuntut penerapan teknologi pertanian yang efisien dan berbasis sumber daya lokal. Sistem hidroponik menjadi alternatif budidaya di lahan terbatas dengan produktivitas tinggi, tetapi penggunaannya masih bergantung pada nutrisi sintetis seperti AB Mix  yang berbiaya mahal. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Mikrobial Kalium Phospat (POC MKP) sebagai substitusi parsial AB Mix  terhadap respon tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) pada sistem hidroponik serta menentukan kombinasi dosis paling efektif dalam mendukung efisiensi nutrisi dan produktivitas tanaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan, yaitu 100% AB Mix  (5 ml/L), 3 ml AB Mix  + 20 ml POC MKP, dan 3 ml AB Mix  + 30 ml POC MKP, masing-masing dengan enam ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan uji lanjut DMRT 5%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan POC MKP berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter respon tanaman dan produksi. Perlakuan 3 ml AB Mix  + 20 ml POC MKP menghasilkan performa setara dengan kontrol, menunjukkan efisiensi pupuk kimia hingga 40%. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa POC MKP berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai sumber nutrisi organik lokal dalam sistem hidroponik berkelanjutan guna mendukung kemandirian dan swasembada pangan nasional. Achieving sustainable food self-sufficiency requires the implementation of efficient agricultural technologies based on local resources. Hydroponic cultivation is a promising alternative for high-yield production in limited land areas; however, its dependence on synthetic nutrients such as AB Mix  increases production costs. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Microbial Potassium Phosphate Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF MKP) as a partial substitution for AB Mix  on the response of hydroponic pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) and to determine the most effective combination of nutrient doses in supporting nutrient efficiency and crop productivity. The experiment was using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments: 100% AB Mix  (5 ml/L), 3 ml AB Mix  + 20 ml LOF MKP, and 3 ml AB Mix  + 30 ml LOF MKP, each with six replications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that LOF MKP significantly affected the plant response and yield parameters. The treatment of 3 ml AB Mix  + 20 ml LOF MKP produced growth and yield comparable to the control, improving nutrient efficiency by up to 40%. These findings suggest that LOF MKP can be developed as a locally sourced organic nutrient for sustainable hydroponic systems supporting national food self-sufficiency.
