Abstract

Volunteer performance is crucial for the success of social and humanitarian organizations, yet maintaining their consistency poses a unique challenge compared to paid employees. While previous studies have extensively examined human resource factors in profit-oriented sectors, empirical evidence regarding the predictors of volunteer performance remains sketchy. Therefore, this study examines the predictive role of work motivation, workload, and job stress on volunteer performance at the Adzkia Nugraha Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Madiun Regency. A quantitative research design was adopted, and data were collected from 132 participants selected using the Slovin formula. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, incorporating partial (t-test) and simultaneous (F-test) evaluations. The results demonstrated that work motivation partially had a positive and significant effect on volunteer performance. Conversely, workload and job stress showed a significant negative effect on performance. Furthermore, the simultaneous evaluation revealed that work motivation, workload, and job stress collectively significantly predicted volunteer performance. The model accounted for 39.2% of the variance in volunteer performance (Adjusted R2 = .392). The study concludes that intrinsic work motivation is the primary driver of volunteer performance, whereas excessive workload and high stress significantly hinder their contributions even in this specific non-profit context. The study recommends that organizational stakeholders focus on strategies that foster volunteer motivation, such as non-financial appreciation, to sustain service effectiveness. the primary driver of volunteer performance, whereas workload and stress do not significantly hinder their contributions.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce has intensified market competition, making consumer purchase decisions a critical focal point for digital platforms. This study examines the predictive role of free shipping, trust, and online customer reviews on online purchase decisions among Shopee application users in Madiun, Indonesia. A quantitative associative research design was adopted, and a purposive sampling technique was utilized to select 100 respondents who are active Shopee users. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire featuring a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the hypotheses. The results demonstrated that free shipping, trust, and online customer reviews simultaneously predicted online purchase decisions, accounting for 69.4% of the variance, R² = .694, F = 75.929, p < .001. Furthermore, partial hypothesis testing revealed that free shipping (β = .182, p = .014), trust (β = .229, p = .005), and online customer reviews (β = .528, p < .001) each emerged as significant independent predictors of purchase decisions. The study concludes that all three variables significantly contribute to driving online purchase decisions among the study participants. The study recommends that e-commerce stakeholders should proactively optimize free shipping promotions, strengthen transactional trust, and maintain credible customer reviews to stimulate consumer purchasing behavior.

Abstract

Operational efficiency has remained a major concern in the modern retail industry due to intense business competition and the ongoing need to optimize operational costs. While previous studies have separately addressed individual commercial strategies, integrated structural assessments of retail management factors remain sketchy. Therefore, this study examines the predictive role of store layout, product display, and inventory control on operational efficiency at MR.DIY Ngawi and Magetan branches. A quantitative explanatory research design was adopted, while a total saturation census sampling technique was used to select the study population consisting of 30 active employees. Two validated questionnaires were used to collect data from the participants and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to test research hypotheses at the level of significance. The result demonstrated that store layout, product display, and inventory control significantly correlated with operational efficiency among study participants, with an Adjusted R Square of 0.881 and an F value of 72.47 at p less than 0.001. Furthermore, store layout (B = 0.493, p = 0.001) and inventory control (B = 0.594, p = 0.001) significantly predicted operational efficiency, whereas product display did not demonstrate a significant partial effect (B = -0.111, p = 0.284). The study concludes that store layout and inventory control significantly contributed to operational efficiency among the study participants. The study recommends that retail stakeholders and store managers should take proactive measures to maintain retail space layouts and execute strict stock control systems to minimize waste and ensure sustained operational efficiency.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has increased the use of e-commerce platforms for online shopping activities. Generation Z is a group with a high level of technological adaptation, making online shopping an integral part of their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the influence of price, promotion, and digital lifestyle on the online shopping frequency of Generation Z students at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Merdeka Madiun. This research employed a quantitative method with a causal associative approach. The sample consisted of 133 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that price has a positive and significant effect on online shopping frequency (t = 4.794; sig. = 0.000). Promotion also has a positive and significant effect on online shopping frequency (t = 3.943; sig. = 0.000). In contrast, digital lifestyle does not have a significant effect on online shopping frequency (t = 1.219; sig. = 0.225). Simultaneously, price, promotion, and digital lifestyle significantly influence online shopping frequency (F = 92.157; sig. = 0.000). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.674 indicates that 67.4% of the variation in online shopping frequency can be explained by the three independent variables. The study concludes that price and promotion are significant factors influencing online shopping frequency, while digital lifestyle does not have a significant partial effect. Price is the most dominant factor affecting students’ online shopping frequency.
