Abstract

The development of digital media has prompted every company to use corporate profile videos as a medium for disseminating information that effectively conveys the company’s identity in an engaging manner. However, during the production of corporate profile videos, inconsistencies in transitions between shots are often encountered, which detracts from the visual experience for the audience. Therefore, this study aims to describe the production and editing process of PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia’s corporate profile video using continuity editing techniques. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection conducted through literature review, observation, and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study is based on continuity editing principles, which include the 180-degree rule, shot-reverse shot, eyeline match, establishing shot, match on action, point of view, cut-in, and cutaway. This study concludes that the application of continuity editing techniques is capable of creating good visual continuity in every scene within the company profile video as a whole, so that transitions between shots appear more fluid and are easily understood by the audience. This study also found that the application of continuity editing techniques can be utilized by business-to-business companies while still projecting a professional image when introducing themselves through the presentation of company information in a more engaging manner.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe the planning process and implementation of tracking shot cinematographic techniques in the production of a company profile video for PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia, using a visual narrative approach as an effective and innovative visual communication strategy for building the company's brand identity among a wider audience. Method: This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with an audiovisual production approach, conducted through three main stages: pre-production, encompassing concept development and storyboarding; production, involving the direct application of tracking shot techniques in the field; and post-production, which included the editing and visual color grading processes. Results: The tracking shot technique was successfully applied across ten primary scenes covering operational activities, the manufacturing process, employee interactions, and a closing scene featuring the company's tagline, resulting in visual content that was dynamic, immersive, and representative of the company's identity. Novelty: This study demonstrates that a systematically planned tracking shot technique is proven effective as a visual communication strategy in company profile video production, particularly for companies operating in the manufacturing industry. This camera-movement-based cinematographic approach represents a notable innovation in digital promotional media that has not been widely examined in previous research.

Abstract

Advances in digital communication have encouraged companies to utilize audiovisual media to convey information and strengthen their corporate image. One effective medium is a company profile video, which combines visual, audio, and narrative elements to shape audience perceptions of brand identity PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia has not yet fully optimized company profile videos as a strategic communication tool. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the director’s strategies in directing visual and narrative elements to communicate the company’s brand identity through a company profile video. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, active participation, and literature review. The analysis refers to Dancyger’s (2006) “Director’s Idea” approach, which explains the director’s role in pre-production, production, and postproduction stages. The findings reveal that the director implemented strategies through the development of a formal visual concept, directing talents and videographers to create a professional and industrial atmosphere, strengthening narratives focused on company credibility, and conducting screening and evaluation processes. These strategies play an important role in maintaining visual and narrative consistency, thereby reinforcing audience trust and strengthening the brand identity of PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia.

Abstract

The background of this study stems from the suboptimal use of company profile videos by PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia as a communication tool for building trust. PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia does not yet have a strategic, structured, and narrative-based company profile video. In this digital age, audiovisual media serve as an effective and practical communication tool for reaching audiences. This study aims to explain the creative process of the scriptwriter in drafting the script as the foundational design for the production of PT Boogie Apparel Indonesia’s company profile video. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection conducted through active participation, interviews or discussions, observation, and literature review. The creative process analyzed employs Graham Wallas’s model, which consists of four stages: preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. Additionally, in drafting the script, the scriptwriter implements a structural framework using the Golden Circle approach—namely, Why, How, and What. This research offers an update by positioning the creative process of scriptwriting as the foundation for building audience credibility and trust through company profile videos.
