Abstract

Bali is known as a tourism island for both local and foreign tourists, therefore there are many hotels, resorts and restaurants for tourists. In order to fulfill the Bali Clean and Green program, the Regional Government of Bali encourages tourism-related businesses, such as hotels, to construct sources of electricity from new renewable energy. The authors use waste energy in the form of exhaust wind from the kitchen exhaust fan in addition to using natural wind energy. Artificial wind is created when waste energy from exhaust fans is converted into a form that can be used to rotate or power a generator. Making a PLTB prototype with a vertical axis Savonius turbine with a blade curvature angle of 135 degrees is the goal of this research in order to increase the wind sweep area and obtain the highest output ratio. This study employed a quantitative methodology. This study was able to maximize the exhaust fan's wind speed, which was 5.84 m/s. The highest generator output value is at 2.93 vdc, 0.62 mmA, and 1.80 Watt for a 2-blade turbine and 40 ohm load, and at 3.22 vdc, 0.74 mmA, and 2.39 Watts for a 4-blade turbine and 40 ohm load.

Abstract

To fulfill thel daily need for clean water, it is necessary to expand the water supply system to reduce the risk of uncontrolled water use. Water Level Control (WLC) is a control system that can control water capacity according to what is required automatically. The design of the Off-Grid PLTS in Sekar Penglipuran as an energy supplier for the water level control system in the reservoir and the start of the pump in the reservoir. Utilization of PLTS in the operation of water level control systems in reservoirs as well as knowing the power generated and component requirements as well as the feasibility of investing in Off-Grid PLTS. This research includes the design of Off-Grid PLTS by analyzing technically and economically. The results of this research are that the Off-Grid PLTS design is estimated to be able to produce power for the control system needs of 525.76 Wp and can produce an energy yield of 932.575 kWh/year with a performance ratio of 85%. Designing a PLTS requires an initial investment cost of Rp. 70,330,605,- with an NPV of -Rp. 65,668,939,506,- so based on economic aspects, designing an Off-Grid PLTS is not worthy of investment.

Abstract

Garbage is a very serious problem in the coastal areas of the beaches in Bali because the management of postal waste from the sea is not optimal. One way of processing waste is using a waste power plant (PLTSa) that can generate electricity. This study aims to find out how the effect of variations in the diameter of the nozzle on the rate of steam generated to drive the PLTSa turbine, with this research method using descriptive quantitative. Tests on the PLTSa prototype used a single-stage impulse turbine using a runner diameter of 44cm and a total of 75 turbine blades. This prototype uses 3 nozzle diameter variations, namely 3mm, 6mm and 9mm with a boiler output steam of 3 bar so that the highest average steam rate occurs at a nozzle diameter of 6mm to get a result of 1470 rpm before connecting the generator and 2460 rpm after connecting the generator.

Abstract

One alternative way of managing waste is using a waste power plant (PLTSa) that can generate electricity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of current, torque and power on the PLTSa prototype by designing a single stage impulse turbine, the method used in this study was descriptive quantitative. Tests on the PLTSa prototype used a single-stage impulse turbine with a runner diameter of 44 cm and a total of 75 turbine blades. This prototype uses a nozzle with a nozzle diameter of 6mm and a boiler from a 13.6 Kg freon gas cylinder with a boiler output steam of 3 bar and a water capacity of 9 liters to get the highest average turbine rotation of 1470 rpm and the highest generator rotation of 2460, so that at single stage impulse turbine gets the highest voltage of 16.44 Volts, the highest current of 2.28 Amperes and the highest output power of 23.32 Watt with a torque of 0.18 Nm so this prototype has an efficiency of 11.1%.

Abstract

Energy needs in Indonesia are increasing, especially in the realization of electricity consumption which reached 20.18 TWh in July 2020. Using exhaust wind energy from exhaust fans as an alternative source of wind energy is considered quite effective because the characteristics of the wind produced are stable. The method used in This research is quantitative and the purpose of this research is to get the optimal distance from the vertical axis of the savonius wind turbine to the exhaust fan. Setting the distance of the turbine is done by adjusting the position of the wind turbine to the exhaust fan with 4 test distances, namely 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm and 50 cm. The results of this study are a distance of 10 cm with a 40 ohm load, the output power is 1.74 watts with an efficiency of 23%, an 80 ohm load, the output power is 1.4 watts with an efficiency of 18%, a 120 ohm load, the output power is 1.215 watts with an efficiency of 16%. , a 160 ohm load produces 0.91 watts of output power with an efficiency of 12%, a 200 ohm load produces 0.91 watts of output power with an efficiency of 12%. distance of 50 cm 40 ohm load output power generated 0.4 watts with 11% efficiency, 80 ohm load output power generated 0.19 watts with 5% efficiency, 120 ohm load output power generated 0 watts with 0% efficiency, 160 ohm load power the output is 0 watts with 0% efficiency, a 200 ohm load produces 0 watts output power with 0% efficiency, so the optimal distance for placing the turbine is 10 cm.

Abstract

The largest source of energy in Indonesia, especially those currently used, mostly still come from non-renewable fossil fuels, which are not environmentally friendly because they produce ???????? 2 gas. Wind energy is a renewable energy source that is environmentally friendly. Apart from using natural wind energy, there is also artificial wind which is the result of wasted energy from exhaust fans as an alternative energy source for wind power plants (PLTB). Wind power that comes from the exhaust fan itself distributes the wind direction, so that the wind energy that can be collected into the turbine is not optimal, so it is necessary to install a wind tunnel. In this study, a trapezoidal wind tunnel model was designed with 2 different lengths, namely 50 cm and 100 cm, which were placed at the end of the fan inlet. This study aims to determine the effect of installing a wind tunnel on the wind speed of the exhaust fan and its effect on the input power of the exhaust fan. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The research results obtained when the addition of a 50cm blower increased wind speed from 5.8m/s to 12.8m/s, the exhaust fan capacity increased by 119 watts, from 249.2 watts to 368.2 watts, when with a 100 cm fan the wind speed increased to 119 watts. increased from 5.8 m/s to 11.8 m/s, exhaust fan power increased by 70.8 watts, from 249.2 watts to 320 watts.
