Abstract

This study analyzes the determinants of actual use behavior of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in cinema ticket payments within Batam City. Employing a modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) framework, it examines the effects of perceived risk, habit, hedonic motivation, and perceived value on use behavior, both directly and indirectly through behavioral intention. A quantitative causal research design was applied, using data obtained from 204 respondents through online questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to test the relationships among variables. The findings reveal that behavioral intention has a strong and significant influence on use behavior. Among the predictors, habit shows both direct and indirect positive effects on use behavior, while perceived risk, hedonic motivation, and perceived value affect use behavior only indirectly through behavioral intention. These results suggest that users’ behavioral intentions serve as the main driver of QRIS adoption, emphasizing the importance of psychological readiness in promoting digital payment systems.
