Abstract

Disturbances during menstruation such as dysmenorrhea affect the performance of female athletes. However, research on the physiologic conditions of female Taekwondo athletes was still very limited. This study aimed to obtain a predictive model for the level of dysmenorrhea and to test which variable had the most influence on the rate of dysmenorrhea. The research design adopted cross-sectional methods. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to analyze the effect of BMI and micronutrient intake of nine elite regional and national female Taekwondo. The results showed that the average female athlete had a normal BMI, while for micronutrient intake per day, the average intake of vitamin E was low, the vitamin B6 intake was low, Magnesium intake was low and Calcium intake was fulfilled. The most influence on the occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea in female Taekwondo athletes was calcium intake. This study was limited to measurements of BMI and dietary micronutrient intake, which might help provide data that coaches, athlete nutritionists, and athletes could be used to predict and assess the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea. More research could use the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), which could better explain how often athletes consumed certain food ingredients over a specific time period.

Abstract

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in the form of joint inflammation in adults. Based on the 2018 WHO report, it shows that there are 335 million people in the world who have rheumatism, of which 5-10% are aged 5-20 years and 20% are aged 55 years. Factors that can cause pain in rheumatoid arthritis are dietary factors, one of which is frequent consumption of fast food and preserved foods. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of consumption of fast food and preserved foods to rheumatoid arthritis complaints in two gymnastics groups in Bandung City.Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 30 gymnastic ladies taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with IBM SPSS Statistic 21 software.Results: Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, there is no relationship between age, educational history, consumption of fast food and preserved food with rheumatoid arthritis complaints in the group of gymnastics ladies in Bandung City (p0,05).Conclusions: The absence of an association among age, educational history, consumption of fast food and preserved foods with rheumatoid arthritis complaints can be due to other factors outside of these factors such as genetics, gender, obesity, infectious diseases, and lack of knowledge about rheumatoid arthritis. What's more, rheumatoid arthritis is also a multifactorial disease, so we need to wisely maintain and regulate  his, her, their, etc lifestyle and food intake so that rheumatoid arthritis complaints can be minimized and do not have recurrences.

Abstract

Daycare is one of the places that has an important role in supporting children's growth and development, including ensuring children's nutritional intake is appropriate for their age. However, the current quality of daycare centers has not reached the appropriate level. Thus, assisting and increasing caregiver knowledge and skills on organizing a good meal is necessary. This community service program aims to improve the ability of caregivers to calculate nutritional intake according to children's needs and to properly manage the organization of meals in daycare. The method used in this program is a quasi-experiment, which provides training and assistance in preparing lunch menus and morning/afternoon snacks based on local foods. The results of the service program showed that 78.6% of caregivers stated that they were satisfied with the help provided by lecturers and female students during the daycare food menu cooking training, 85.7% of caregivers stated that the food menu made was easy to apply in their workplaces, and 92.9% of caregivers stated that the training provided was by their needs and wanted similar training again. This program can be an effective alternative to increase caregivers' knowledge in Daycare in preparing menus according to the nutritional needs of children.

Abstract

Pos Pelayanan Terpadu atau posyandu adalah salah satu Upaya Kesehatan Berbasis Masyarakat (UKBM) yang pengelolaannya dilakukan dari, oleh, dan untuk masyarakat sebagai wujud pelayanan kesehatan. Tenaga utama pelaksana posyandu adalah kader yang berperan untuk memantau status gizi balita dengan melakukan pengukuran antropometri setiap bulan. Salah satu tujuan pengukuran antropometri adalah sebagai bentuk upaya pencegahan permasalahan stunting. Data hasil Survei Kesehatan Indonesia (SKI) tahun 2023 menunjukkan angka stunting di Kabupaten Bandung mencapai 29,2%. Berdasarkan hasil survei dengan kader posyandu di Desa Arjasari mengenai masalah-masalah pada saat pengukuran antropometri, didapatkan informasi bahwa terdapat banyak kader posyandu yang belum pernah memperoleh pelatihan pengukuran antropometri sama sekali. Oleh karena itu, tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader posyandu Desa Arjasari dalam melaksanakan pengukuran antropometri dengan baik dan benar sesuai standar Kementerian Kesehatan sehingga kualitas pelayanan posyandu dapat meningkat. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode edukasi materi dan pelatihan antropometri secara langsung di Kantor Desa Arjasari dan dihadiri oleh 47 kader posyandu. Didapatkan hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan kader terkait pengukuran antropometri. Adanya evaluasi lanjutan dalam bentuk pendampingan rutin oleh pihak puskesmas untuk memastikan keberlanjutan keterampilan yang telah diperoleh kader.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Stunting merupakan masalah kesehatan serius yang masih tinggi prevalensinya di Kabupaten Bandung. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah rendahnya pengetahuan tentang Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) serta anemia, khususnya di kalangan siswa perempuan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan siswa perempuan mengenai PHBS dan anemia di salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Bandung. Metode: Kegiatan dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui desain survei. Edukasi diberikan dalam bentuk sesi penyuluhan oleh tenaga kesehatan dan pendidik. Setelah edukasi, siswa diminta mengisi kuesioner yang telah divalidasi untuk mengukur tingkat pengetahuan mereka. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 63,3% siswa memiliki pengetahuan tingkat sedang mengenai PHBS, dan 57% siswa menunjukkan pengetahuan sedang tentang anemia. Namun, masih terdapat sebagian siswa dengan tingkat pengetahuan rendah. Kesimpulan: Edukasi mengenai PHBS dan anemia terbukti mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa perempuan. Namun, diperlukan pendekatan edukasi yang lebih intensif dan berkelanjutan serta kolaborasi lintas sektor untuk mengatasi masalah stunting secara lebih efektif di tingkat lokal.

Abstract

Menstrual cycle disorders are a prevalent health issue among adolescent girls and may be influenced by lifestyle factors and nutritional status. This study aimed to examine the association between allowance, breakfast habits, energy adequacy, protein adequacy, fat adequacy, and nutritional status with menstrual cycle disorders among female students at SMAN 1 Ngamprah. A cross-sectional analytical survey was conducted involving 90 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, 2×24-hour dietary recalls, and anthropometric measurements. The study found a higher prevalence of menstrual cycle disorders among students with above-average allowances, regular breakfast habits, and insufficient intake of energy, protein, and fat. These disorders were also more common in students experiencing both undernutrition and overnutrition. The study concludes that economic factors and nutritional intake are significantly associated with menstrual cycle regularity. Educational interventions promoting balanced diets and effective financial management are recommended as prevention strategies for menstrual cycle disorders among adolescents.

Abstract

Preconception nutritional preparedness is crucial to support a healthy pregnancy and prevent fetal growth disorders. In Indonesia, many prospective couples lack adequate understanding of this, making audiovisual-based nutrition education a promising approach; however, its effectiveness still requires further evaluation. This community service aimed to improve nutritional knowledge of prospective brides and grooms through a Communication, Information, and Education (CIE) approach using audiovisual media. The intervention was conducted at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in Sukajadi Subdistrict, Bandung City, involving 74 prospective couples selected through accidental sampling. A 9-minute video containing information on nutritional needs, preconception issues, and recommended intake served as the educational tool. Evaluation used a one-group pretest–posttest design with a validated and reliable questionnaire. The analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge scores after the intervention (N-Gain = 0.44; moderate category). These results suggest that audiovisual-based CIE effectively enhances understanding of preconception nutrition in an engaging and accessible manner. However, the lack of a control group limits the interpretation of the findings. This activity supports audiovisual media as an alternative strategy for preconception nutrition education to enhance readiness for marriage and pregnancy.

Abstract

Gangguan kesehatan mental pasca persalinan pada ibu, yang dipicu oleh tekanan ekonomi, sosial, dan kurangnya dukungan, berdampak negatif pada pola asuh dan praktik pemberian Makanan Pendamping ASI (MPASI), sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan risiko stunting pada anak. Di Desa Sanca, Kabupaten Subang menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman ibu mengenai praktik pemberian makan yang tepat dan pentingnya kesehatan mental dalam pengasuhan. Tujuan program “Mengenali Diri, Mengembangkan Diri: Gizi dan Kesehatan Mental Sejak Dini” adalah memperkuat kapasitas orang tua melalui edukasi gizi dan kesehatan mental untuk mendukung tumbuh kembang anak secara optimal. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan partisipasi aktif peserta, diskusi, dan demonstrasi dengan menggunakan media power point dan poster. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan post-test untuk mengukur tingkat pengetahuan peserta. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang signifikan, di mana rata-rata post-test mencapai 9 dari 10 jawaban benar, dan peserta menunjukkan kemampuan menjelaskan prinsip dasar dan menu MPASI sesuai usia serta terlibat aktif dalam sesi demo masak. Program ini efektif dalam meningkatkan wawasan, keterampilan dasar pengolahan MPASI, dan kesadaran akan pentingnya kesehatan mental, yang didukung oleh pendekatan edukasi partisipatif dan kolaborasi tenaga kesehatan lokal.

Abstract

Masalah gizi kurang pada balita berdampak serius terhadap tumbuh kembang anak dan membutuhkan intervensi berkelanjutan berbasis pelayanan primer. Berdasarkan data Dinas Kesehatan Kota Bandung tahun 2022 sampai 2023, UPT Puskesmas Pasundan mencatat penurunan prevalensi gizi kurang tertinggi dibandingkan puskesmas lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengevaluasi program penanggulangan gizi kurang di UPT Puskesmas Pasundan dari aspek perencanaan, implementasi, output, dan outcome dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan grounded theory. Program disusun sesuai standar manajemen Puskesmas dengan pola USG dan mencakup tiga program utama yaitu pemantauan pertumbuhan, penyuluhan dan konseling gizi, serta pemberian makanan tambahan yang dilaksanakan secara terstruktur meskipun menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatasan pelatihan kader, media edukasi, dan alokasi dana. Implementasi program dinilai cukup efektif dengan pelaksanaan rutin dan partisipasi aktif masyarakat, meski masih terdapat hambatan dalam ketepatan sasaran. Output program meliputi peningkatan cakupan, pemahaman orang tua, dan perbaikan status gizi balita, sedangkan outcome menunjukkan tren penurunan prevalensi gizi kurang setiap tahun. Meskipun demikian, peningkatan pemantauan dan koordinasi lintas sektor masih diperlukan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan program. Temuan ini menjadi dasar perbaikan intervensi melalui optimalisasi sumber daya dan penguatan kolaborasi antar pihak. Secara keseluruhan, program penanggulangan gizi kurang di UPT Puskesmas Pasundan telah sesuai dengan standar prioritas masalah dan menunjukkan hasil positif, namun perlu ditingkatkan pada aspek pelatihan, sumber daya, dan pemerataan pelaksanaan.
