Abstract

Recently, the cyber security of vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) including two practicable: car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure has been considered due to importance. It has become possible to keep pace with the development in the world, where the safety of people is a priority in the development of technology in general and in particular in the field of VANET. In this paper, a cyber security system for VANET has been proposed to tackle the DOS attacks. The proposed system includes three security levels. Firstly, the registeration level that ask vehicles to be registered in the system, in which the network exclude the unrigestered ones. Secondly, the authentication level that checks the vehicles before joining the network. This is done by applying a proposed algorithm that considers the hash function and factory number. Thirdly, the proposed system ables to detect the DOS attack by any involved vehicle using the monitoring algorithm that allocate such vehicle to be excluded from the network. The obtained results show the efficient performance of the proposed system in managing the security of the VANET network. The multi-level system increases the security of the network, in which the attacks can be eliminated.

Abstract

A type of distributed and self-regulating network is the wireless sensor network (WSN). The sensor nodes have limited computing capabilities, memory, battery power are needed to ensure a strong security design. In this paper, an adaptive cryptographic scheme for WSN that is operating on routing ad hoc on-demand vector routing (AODV) protocol. The adaptive term refers to the adopted mechanism between heavy and light asymmetric cryptography techniques of RSA. The heavy technique adopts the complete version of RSA algorithm, while the light one considers a reduced complexity version. This is to control the security operation over the included nodes even with low power ratio. In various case studies, the proposed scheme is checked and the result obtained shows the high efficiency of results in terms of protection guarantee.

Abstract

In general, the extraction of the vehicle plate is a previous step of plate recognition, and it actively studied for several decades. Plate localization is used in various security and traffic applications. In this paper, the proposed method is efficient to localize a plate for the multinational countries. The proposed method consists of three levels. The first level is the preprocessing that contains several steps. The digital camera capture images have been taken about twenty meters from the car with zooming two to three meters. Images are resampled using the zooming technique (bilinear interpolation) that makes the dimension of image (1024 x 768) pixels. The resampled images are resized to (940x 730). These images are converted to grayscale (green channel), and the bilateral filter is applied for removing noise. The second level is plate detection that adopts morphological operations, image subtraction, and vertical edge detection (Sobel). At the last Connected component analysis and Hough transform are used. The third level is the Deskew plate that notifies the plate may skew so that Hough transform is used to detect the largest line segment. Then, the images are rotated using bilinear interpolation. About 860 images are tested for different countries (Iraq, Belarus, Armenia, Hungary), and the accuracy is 98.99 % for extraction of the plate and 100% for the Deskew plate. Thus, the proposed system shows high efficiency in achievement.

Abstract

Energy-efficiency ofwireless sensor networks (WSN) becomes an essential issue in the research area. This is because of the energy constraints in WSN that depend on a battery, which is difficult to replace or recharge; therefore, multiple clustering algorithms were proposed to achieve efficiency in using the available energy as much as possible. This paper proposed energy-efficient and fault-tolerance algorithms that enhance thelow energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) protocol by three algorithms. The first focuses on selecting the best cluster head and the second focuses on minimizing the required nodes within the same cluster. Simultaneously, the third fault tolerance algorithm uses software engineering techniques like sleep schedules to increase network lifetime as much as possible. The testing results of the proposed algorithms prove the claim of enhancing the lifetime of WSN. In order to check improvement of lifetime of WSN we have compered the results of the proposed algorithms with standered algorthim. The results show prove the claim of enhancing the life-time of WSN, where the total lifetime of WSN rise from about 550 rounds to reach 4100 when utilized self-checking process and rised up to 5200 after enhance minimum distans.

Abstract

It is well known that the development in the life style requires a robust enhancement in the provided services based on technologies. This paper suggests a mobile application under android environment that manages the information and sale systems regarding plants shop. The proposed application uses the Quick Response (QR) codes as identification of an object (plant). The proposed system includes two parts: server and client. The server side contains the most software application, such as database, while the client (mobile) side runs the website based interface between the application and users. QR tag is attached to each plant on the farm to be read by visitor’s mobile camera and sent to the server side using the designed web application. The received QR code is processed by the server and preparing the response with full information of a plant to be sent back to the mobile for user viewing. In addition, the proposed system offers a sale service to the user after performing registration. The proposed system is tested over different case studies and the obtained results show the efficiency of its performance.
