The purpose of this research to know the influence of cooperative model of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type for social sciences learning result about preparation of Indonesian independence. This research is a experimental research. The research design used post tests only control group design. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. According to the result of hypothesis analysis in 5% significance got tcount > ttable (4,271 > 1,99). The conclution of this research there are influence on the usage of cooperative model type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) to social science learning result about preparation of Indonesian independence. Key words: STAD, Social studies Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar IPS tentang persiapan kemerdekaan Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu post test only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji hipotesis pada taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh thitung > ttabel (4,271 > 1,99). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh penggunaan model kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar IPS tentang persiapan kemerdekaan Indonesia.
