Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of the implementation of guided inquiry model in increasing students mathematical communications skill. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of MTs Hidayatul Islamiyah Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015. The sample of this research was students of VIIIB class that was determined by purposive sampling. The design of this research was one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry model was effective in increasing students mathematical communications skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model guided inquiry dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Hidayatul Islamiyah Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIIB yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model guided inquiry efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: guided inquiry, komunikasi matematis, model pembelajaran
