Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of Reciprocal Teaching model viewed by students understanding of mathematical concepts. The design which was used was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade eight of SMP IT Nurul Iman Pesawaran in academic year of 2014/2015. The samples of this research were students of VIIA and VIIB class that were determined by purposive random sampling. The data of students understanding of mathematical concepts were obtained by essay test. Based on the result of this research, it was concluded that the implementation of reciprocal teaching model was effective viewed by the students understanding of mathematical concepts and more effective than conventional learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model reciprocal teaching ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP IT Nurul Iman Pesawaran tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIB yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data pemahaman konsep matematis siswa diperoleh dari tes uraian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model reciprocal teaching efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, serta lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematis, reciprocal teaching
