Abstract

Teeth that have been moved using orthodontic appliance has a tendency to return to the starting position. This is the so calledrelapses or other wise prevent the tooth back into the starting position of malocclusion. Relapse is described as a state of loss ofcorrection that has been achieved by orthodontic treatment. Whatever treatment is considered failed if the out come of treatmentcan not survive. The purpose of this paper is to explain the causes of relapse and a wide range to prevent relapse. The method usedis based on literature and other data.It can be concluded that is expected to expand the horizons of knowledge about relapse andhow to prevent it, and can help increase the success of the orthodontic treatment effectively.
