Abstract

The total area of Kuantan Singingi Regency reach ± 7656.03 km2. Forest area has reached 317 615 ha or 41.5% of the area of Kuantan SingingiRegency.District Own Source Revenue  (PAD) is the income was earned from all of sources income in the area and by managed the local government that includes local tax revenues, results of retribution, wealth management outcomes was separated areas and other legitimate local revenues.The purpose of this study was to find of the contribution value forestry sector to District Own Source Revenue  (PAD). The results showed that the contribution of the forestry sectorto district own source revenue(PAD) in Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 is under 1% with a distribution in 2008 has the amount  of  0,45% (Rp 115.000.000 from Rp 25.380.245.966), the year 2009 amounted to 0,5% (Rp 115.000.00 from Rp 23.147.073.224), the year 2010 amounted to 0,53% (Rp 115.000.000 from Rp 21.435.798.449), and in 2011 amounted to 0,48% (Rp 115.000.000 from Rp 23.755.740.032), indeed in 2012 the contribution forestry sector is 0% from Rp 30.269.207.812.Keywords:Contribution, District Own SourceRevenue(PAD,)Forestry Sector

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the characteristic of essential oil produced from distillation process of pucuk merah leaves.The young leaves and old leaves of pucuk merah was distilled using distillation Clevenger type. Then,it is done an observation of essential oil yield, the essential oil colour, essential oil scent and solubility in ethanol. The results showed that the yield of pucuk merah young leaves essential oil is much more than the pucuk merah old leaves essential oil which are each respectively 0,18% and 0,118%. The colour of essential oil from pucuk merah young leaves and old leaves pucukmerah is yellow. Then,the essential oil from pucuk merah leaves is soluble inethanol PA atratio 1:1. Furthermore, through panelists assessment it’s known the essential oil of young leaves has distinctive scent of pucuk merah than the essentiall oil of pucuk merah old leaves. As65% panelists said that the essential oil from pucuk merah young leaves has distinctive scent of pucuk merah, while the others 35% said that it doesn’t have. For the essential oil from the old leaves, as 50% panelists said that the essential oil from pucuk merah old leaves has the distinctive scent of pucuk merah, while the others 50% panelists said that it doesn’t have.

Abstract

The community forests management of Styrax spp.becomes a culture and the source of life and social prestige of a family which is measured by the size of the Styraxspp. garden owned and has even become part of the life of the Sytraxspp. farmerin HumbangHasundutan, especially Simarigung Village. As time goes by, many Styraxspp. farmers are turning into horticultural farmers to sufficethe needs of farmers. The purpose of this research is to know the pattern of cultivation of Sytraxspp. plants, to know the contribution of Sytrax spp. plants to household income, and the factors causing the low income of Styrax spp. farmers in Simarigung Village. Sampling method were taken by simple random sampling. The study population was all the head of the family in the Village Simarigung as many as 225 families. The research sample is 20% 25 families of 125 families who manage Styrax spp. The results showed that the major contribution to the community forests of Styraxspp. about household income in the Village Simarigung around Rp. 10.810.000,00- Rp. 22.220.000,00/year and overall was 47.64% or Rp. 457.390.000.00/year. In research show that the management of Sytrax spp. is still traditional and monoculture.The low income of Styraxspp.due to old age and younger Styraxspp. that cannot be notched and lack of maintenance can reduce the quantity and quality of Styraxspp. resin production.
