Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of motivation by looking at the effect of emotional intelligence, lecturers' teaching style and learning media facilities on statistical understanding. The sample in this study was 239 respondents who were students majoring in Accounting at Prima Indonesia University. The data is processed using path analysis. Emotional intelligence, teaching style of lecturers and learning media facilities strongly support motivation to be better. In learning the teaching style of the lecturer is very supportive in growing student motivation, if the lecturer as the main actor in learning has good pedagogical abilities and uses effective learning media in teaching, it will be able to grow student learning motivation and will produce a high level of understanding in the subject. . Students who have good emotional intelligence will have good behavior and motivation in learning. Therefore, the influence of motivation can be seen from emotional intelligence, lecturer's teaching style and learning media facilities in understanding statistics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis kesulitan belajar mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi Univeristas Prima Indonesia pada mata kuliah statistiK. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 240 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa jurusan Akuntansi Universitas Prima Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang berupaya untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan persoalan statistik. Dalam penelitian ini, Instrumen penelitian dalam mengumpulkan informasi melalui  analisi tes diagnostik, lembar persentase kesulitan belajar dan wawancara dengan mahasiswa. Letak kesulitan belajar mahasiswa dilihat berdasarkan kesalahan yang dibuat dalam menyelesaikan tes diagnostik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar dalam mempelajari statistik terletak pada kemampuan matematis dasar. Dengan demikian, pengajar perlu mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran sehingga kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah semakin meningkat motivasi belajar mahasiswa yang akan menghasilkan tingkat pemahaman yang tinggi dan dapat menggunakan software yang memudahkan dalam  pengujian suatu penelitiansehingga nantinya mahasiswa suka dan terbiasa untuk mengolah data dalam suatu penelitian

Abstract

This research aim to : (1) To analyse validity of study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning, (2) To analyse effectiveness of study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning, (3) To analyse the improvement of ability mathematical reasoning student by using study peripheral base on the problem based learning which have been developed.. Research type used is development research by using modification of development model 4-D. This Research step is define, design, develop and disseminate. In this research is compiled by peripheral of study and instrument that is : lesson plan, sheet of student activity, teacher book, student book, tes of ability of reasoning. Try out conducted atstudent of class VIII-A as much 23 people and VII-B as much 25 people in MTS. Cerdas Murni Medan. Result of this research indicate that : (1) Validity of study peripheral of according to expert team is valid (2) Study Peripheral reach the effective criterion that is complete of klasikal reach 91,3%, respon student to study obtained mean 95,02% and study time not differ far with the ordinary study time, (3) Improvement the ability of mathematical reasoning use the study peripheral base on the problem which have been developed to be seen from value N-Gain that is 0,61 in category "medium"Keyword :   Development of Study Peripheral, Problem Based Learning, Mathematic Reasoning,
