This quantitative research was conducted on the employees of PT XYZ with the objective of examining the influence of workload, work discipline, and work fatigue on employee performance. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews, with the study population consisting of all 74 employees of PT XYZ. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline and job satisfaction on employee performance at PT OPQ. The research background stems from a decline in performance in several work units, low team collaboration, high levels of tardiness, and low job satisfaction among employees. This study employs a quantitative method with a population of 112 employees, all of whom were taken as the sample using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through a four-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression after passing the classical assumption tests. The results indicate that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and simultaneously both variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination shows that work discipline and job satisfaction contribute substantially to the variation in employee performance, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings emphasize that improving work discipline and job satisfaction is a strategic step in enhancing employee performance at PT OPQ.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the meritocracy system in the management of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the West Sumatra Provincial Government, specifically in the Bureau Xyz. The merit system is one of the main pillars of bureaucratic reform to create a professional, integrity-based, and perormance-oriented apparatus. The research approach uses a qualitative descriptive method with interview, observation, and document review techniques. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the merit system in the Bureau Xyz has been running relatively well with reference to employee qualifications, competencies, and performance achievements. However, obstacles are still found such as limited human resources, the persistence of old cultural bureaucracy, and uneven implementation across all levels of the organization. These findings are in line with Max Weber's bureaucratic theory which emphasizes the importance of rational rules, clear structures, and the principle of feasibility as the basis for employee management. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen supervision and leadership so that meritocracy is truly realized consistently.
