Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the personality coaching program as an effort to build the nationalist character of prisoners in the Sidoarjo Class IIA Penal Institution. This substance is observed using Thomas Lickona's theory of character-building theory, that there are three components of character building, namely moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. This research is important to be researched, because there are still internal violations that reflect the low awareness of prisoners in behaving according to the values โ€‹โ€‹of Pancasila. The method used is descriptive qualitative with case study design. The research subjects consisted of the Head of the Binadik Section, Binadik staff, and prisoners, namely RZ, NV, DR, and CH. The research location is in the Sidoarjo Class IIA Penal Institution, at Jalan Sultan Agung Number 32 Magersari, Sidoarjo. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document studies related to the form of activities, implementation of activities, prisoners' nationalistic behavior, and obstacles. The data and information obtained were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman data triangulation which was associated with the perspective of Thomas Lickona's character building theory. The results showed that efforts to build the nationalist character of prisoners were carried out through fostering and cultural activities of Penal institutions which consisted of package chase education, counseling on national awareness, scouts, religious lectures, musical arts, flag ceremonies, and Clean Fridays.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) a strategy for inculcating disciplined character through enforcement of discipline at SMKN 5 Surabaya, and (2) a strategy for inculcating disciplined character through Civics learning at SMKN 5 Surabaya. In this study, the researcher adopted a qualitative technique. This research is based on Thomas Lickona's philosophy of character education. This study focuses on instilling disciplined character in SMKN 5 Surabaya through the enforcement of discipline and learning Civics. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The first stage is observation, interviews are conducted to obtain information related to strategies for inculcating disciplined character through enforcement of rules and learning PPKn and documentation related to the process of enforcing rules and learning PPKn. The results of this study indicate that there are several strategies used in building the character of discipline in students. In terms of enforcing the rules, namely socializing the rules, the school provides a statement stating that parents and students agree to the rules contained in the school, cooperate with all school members in enforcing the rules, provide educational sanctions, seek the root of the problem if there are students who violate the rules. often break the rules and find a way out. Then in the case of Civics learning, the teacher makes a learning contract, provides knowledge about the importance of discipline, tells students about the history of struggle, provides examples, conducts assessments and evaluations. Abstract

Wira-wiri Suroboyo is feeder-based public transportation operated by the Surabaya City Government to overcome various problems related to public transportation faced by Surabaya City residents. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of the operation of the Wira-wiri Suroboyo feeder on the people of Surabaya City. Data collection techniques in this research used interviews, observation and documentation. The research subjects were the Surabaya City Community and the Suroboyo Wira-wiri Crew. Data analysis in this research refers to interactive data as stated by Miles & Huberman, namely that it is carried out interactively continuously until complete so that accurate and definite data is obtained. From the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the operation of the Wira-wiri Suroboyo feeder has had an impact on social change in the people of Surabaya City, such as the impact felt by non-users such as city transport drivers who are no longer operating, namely creating jobs, increasing income, getting used to obey the rules, and get used to socializing or communicating well. Meanwhile, the impact on the user community is making it easier to get public transportation, facilitating people's mobility or traveling from one place to another, getting people used to obeying the rules, and increasing social awareness.
