Abstract

Garbage can be defined as waste generated from human and animal activities in solid form, which is disposed of because it is no longer useful or needed. Dili is a capital city in Timor Leste which has a fairly large population. The large population in Dili causes a large amount of waste to be generated. This is an obstacle in waste management in the city of Dili where people are not aware of environmental cleanliness. Household-scale waste management can be done with the concept of zero waste. The principle of zero waste or zero waste is a waste management concept based on recycling activities. Waste management is carried out by sorting, composting and collecting goods worth selling. The purpose of this study is to determine waste management in Dili City and reduce waste generation with a zero waste program on a household scale independently in Delta 3 Complex, Dili City. Data collection methods were conducted by interview and field observation (primary data), as well as Dili City BPS Archives and Dili SAS Archives (secondary data). The study was conducted for 14 days at the Delta 3 Complex in Dili. Garbage is separated and set aside for paper, cardboard, organic waste, bottles or plastic containers. After sorting, the waste will be weighed according to its type and recorded every day. From the sorting that was carried out for 14 days with the community, it was found that a total of 365.1 kg of waste could be set aside for further composting of organic waste and plastic bottles and containers for recycling in the form of ecobricks by the community. The conclusion in this study is that waste management in Dili City is carried out by the Waste Office by implementing a transport and disposal system in which waste after being transported from the source of the waste is directly disposed of to the TPA and burned manually. Waste management with zero waste at the Delta 3 Dili Complex can reduce the accumulation of waste by 55.68% which before being separated from 365.1 kg to 161.8 kg.

Abstract

Occupational safety, health (K3) is the protection of workers, as well as the basic rights of workers. Based on this, it is necessary to identify unsafe actions, unsafe conditions and analyze the relationship between worker characteristics, K3 knowledge level, K3 attitudes towards work accidents in the Surabaya Livestock Feed Industry, so that the results of this study can be used as material for improving the K3 system. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the characteristics of workers, the level of knowledge of K3, OHS attitudes. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between tenure, unsafe action, unsafe condition and work accidents with values of 0.000; 0.001; 0.035, respectively, correlation coefficient -0.627; 0.574; 0.387. The relationship between years of service and work accidents, namely the higher the tenure of a person, the lower the accident rate with the strength of a strong relationship, the relationship between unsafe action and work accidents, namely the higher the unsafe action, the higher the accident rate with the strength of a strong relationship, the relationship between unsafe conditions and work accidents. work accidents, namely the higher the unsafe condition, the higher the accident rate with the strength of the weak relationship

Abstract

Smoked fish waste has a lot of nutritional content to be used as fish feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of processing smoke fish waste into fish feed in the form of fish pellets and to find out the best combination of fish feed from smoked fish waste with other variables as a mixture. The materials used in making pellets, which will later be given to African catfish (Clasias gariepinus), are a combination of smoking fish waste with tofu dregs, organic vegetables, and restaurant waste. The data obtained is an analysis of the proximate content of fish waste that has been processed into fish pellets with various variations, the test values for proximate analysis parameters in the form of protein content, water content, ash content, and fat content. The results showed that in K.2 (a combination of fish smoking waste with organic vegetable waste) was the best combination with the results of the proximate test analysis of protein content parameters of 33.82%; water content of 7.45%; ash content of 9.27%; and fat content of 18.43%. In this case, the results of the K.2 test have met the maximum and minimum levels as a quality requirement for African catfish (Clasias gariepinus) feed concerning SNI 01-4087-2006.

Abstract

The Mangetan Canal River is a river with a length of ± 36.3 kilometers which is often used as a place for waste to end up resulting in a decrease in the quality of the water (Ahmad et al, 2016). In this study, testing was carried out at 4 stations in the morning and evening for 4 weeks. The result is for parameters of temperature, pH, salinity meet the quality standards. For the DO parameter, COD has not met the quality standard. For brightness parameters only in weeks 1 and 2 that meet the quality standard. The composition of macrozoobenthos at week 1 to week 4 found 9 species belonging to 5 classes, namely Oligochaeta, Diptera, Gastropods, Celeoptera and Hirudinea. The density of macrozoobenthos showed the results of 15-1980 individuals/m2 per station during the study. For the calculation of IP and BMWP-ASPT, it was found that manganese was heavily polluted to very heavily polluted with the BMWP-ASPT method and the results were lightly polluted with the Pollution Index (IP) method. The results of the correlation between the Pollution Index and BMWP-ASPT are strongly correlated between variables (X) and (Y). The recommendation of this research is that sampling should be done in real time and it is necessary to develop other parameters that must be investigated that can affect the biota in the waters

Abstract

Bentor is a combination of rickshaw and motor, the smoke emitted by bentor has a high air pollutant content. One of them is Carbon Monoxide (CO). CO pollutants are dangerous compounds contained in exhaust smoke, if the smoke is scattered more and more in the air it will pollute the air and human health. CO pollutants can be minimized by adsorption. Adsorption is the process of absorbing a hazardous compound. This research utilizes kepok banana peel which is processed into activated carbon which will be used as an adsorbent to adsorb CO. Musa Acuminta Linn was carbonized and then activated using H2SO4 solution. This research modifies the bentor exhaust mixing addition of an adsorbent weighing 50 grams and is included in the exhaust. Behind the results of the research on the characteristics of activated carbon on the iodine absorber of 31%, it proves that the activated carbon from the kepok banana peel has met the requirements for activated carbon in accordance with the Indonesian Industrial Standard No. 0258.88 and this has an effect on decreasing the concentration of CO, which is able to reduce CO levels by 2% at idle conditions in the test time of 15 minutes.

Abstract

Porang tubers (Amorphophallus muelleri) belonging to the family Araceae. Sludge produced by by-products produced in the production process will greatly affect the receiving environment, especially food waste with high organic content. In poultry farming, 70% of the total cost of production is used to provide animal feed. There-fore, this study aims to utilize sludge from PT AMBICO as broiler animal feed in-gredients. The method used in this research is by fermentation and adding ingredi-ents to improve the nutritional quality of the animal feed. Data analysis using prox-imate analysis, calcium, and phosphorus, then the results are compared with the quality requirements of SNI 8173.3-2015. Where the most optimum mixing ratio overall the results of this feed are still many that do not meet SNI so that it cannot be said to be feasible as a good broiler chicken feed. However, the results of the K4 variable test still have 2 parameters that meet the SNI quality standard, namely the Water Content which results in 13.08% and Calcium which results is 0.96%

Abstract

Tofu liquid waste contains organic elements that contain nutrients such as protein, fat, and good bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential utilization of tofu liquid waste as a probiotic and to determine the optimum ratio of tofu wastewater use as a probiotic. The method used is fermentation and adding ingredients that contain nutrients and good bacteria (Lactobacillus sp.). Analysis of the data to determine the quality of probiotics using the abundance test of Lactobacillus sp. and proximate analysis which includes protein content, fat content, ash content, and water content then the results are compared with the quality standard of commercial probiotics. The best combination of probiotics is V2 = Variable 2 (Waste ciar tofu 50%, Molasses 23%, Coconut water 20%, Yeast Tape 5%, Yakult 2%) with the results of the analysis of the abundance of Lactobacillus sp. of 105 CFU/ml and the results of the analysis of the proximate test of protein content parameters of 2.9%; fat content of 0.93%. In this case, the results of the V2 test still have 3 nutritional contents that have met the quality standards of commercial probiotics.
