Abstract

This research was conducted at CV. Abundant Seed Facility (SBB) 88, Pasir Putih Village, Bungatan District, Situbondo Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the hatchery of cantang grouper from larval rearing, feeding to harvesting and post-harvest at the Abundant Seed Facility (SBB) 8 Situbondo, as well as to obtain data and information on the production yield, quantity, and quality of seeds available at the Abundant Seed Facility. (SBB) 8 Situbondo. The method used in this research is the descriptive method, with data collection techniques including primary data and secondary data. This data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and active participation. SBB 88 is a household scale hatchery that has been certified by CPIB and has individual ownership status. SBB 88 was first established in 2007 with a land area of 900 m2, the reason it is numbered 88 is that the number of tanks in the maintenance room is 8 tanks. The rearing process for cantang grouper larvae at SBB 88 was carried out indoors, starting with egg-laying, hatching eggs, and grading from D26 – to D40. In one cycle it takes about 2 months with a seed harvest of 3 cm - 4 cm in size. The calculation of the hatching rate (HR) obtained was 80%, from 100,000 eggs that were stocked and hatched as many as 80,000 larvae, the yield obtained was 25,500 seeds from 80,000 larvae so the SR obtained was 31.87%.

Abstract

Rejo Royal is a company that is active in producing and developing vannamei shrimp culture that has implemented an intensive technology system. Calculation of vibrio and plankton is very necessary in vannamei shrimp farming activities, it affects in productivity. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the density of vibrio and abundance of plankton to support the productivity of vannamei shrimp farming. The purpose of this study was to find out how to check vibrio density and plankton abundance on the productivity of vannamei shrimp culture. TBC and TVC calculations were carried out in ponds A4 and A6 using a hand counter once every 10 days. Calculation of plankton abundance using a haemocytometer is done every 5 days. The abundance of plankton in the waters is very beneficial, to suppress the development of Vibrio sp. Pond C4 in DOC 20 with an abundance of 9.0x10³ cells/ml plankton was able to suppress TVC 2.9x10³ CFU/ml. Whereas, pond C6 in DOC 20 with an abundance of plankton 6.8x10³ cells/ml was able to suppress TVC 3.8x10³ CFU/ml. The abundance of vibrio affects the productivity of shrimp, wherease the higher TVC affects the decrease in Average Daily Growth. TVC in Pond C4 at DOC 90 with an abundance 2.2x10³ CFU/ml affected decreament of ADG by 0.45 gr. Likewise, the lower the TVC affects increament of ADG. TVC in Pond C6 with abundance 2.4x10³ CFU/ml affected increament of ADG by 0.57 gr.

Abstract

The shrimp fry produced by hatcheries not according to standard. The problem is due to larval rearing techniques that do not comply with operational standards, Indonesian National Standards and Good Fish Hatchery Methods (CPIB). This causes the production of vaname shrimp larvae to be low, therefore it is necessary to increase the production of vaname shrimp larvae. Hatchery PT. Nusa Dharma Lautan is a vaname shrimp larva hatchery company located in Banyuwangi. Hatchery PT. Nusa Dharma Lautan has facilities that support technical activities for rearing larvae according to standards and has a CPIB certificate. So the aim of this research is to obtain technical data on rearing white shrimp larvae which includes tank preparation, media preparation, stocking of naupli, feed management, water quality management, larval growth monitoring, pest and disease control, harvest and post-harvest. This research was carried out during one shrimp seed rearing cycle at PT Nusa Dharma Lautan from March to June 2023. Research data was taken from three tanks (B10, B11 and B13). Naupli stocking density was 133-166 fish/liter. Naupli used from Hatchery PT. Situbondo Delta. Acclimatization is carried out using a flowtrough system for 45-60 minutes. The feed used is natural phytoplankton type Chaetoceros sp. and Artemia salina zooplankton as well as artificial feed in the form of liquid, powder and flakes (thin plates). The number of naupli stocked in B10 was 2400000 individuals with a density of 160 individuals/L, B11 was 2000000 individuals with a density of 133 individuals/L, B13 was 2500000 individuals with a density of 166 individuals/L. The survival results in each tank are 45% in the B10; 54.5.% in B11; 42.4% in B13. According to the data, the results of the survival rate are quite good because they exceed the SNI standard, at least 30%.
