Abstract

The growing demand for IP addresses, driven by the proliferation of devices, has depleted the internet protocol (IP) version 6 (IPv6) reserves of some regional internet registries (RIRs). It is imperative to migrate to IPv6, offering an extended addressing space. This transition is no longer a choice but a necessity due to the exhaustion of IP version 4 (IPv4) addresses. The internet engineering task force (IETF) has implemented various transition strategies, such as the use of dual stack, IPv6-in-IPv4 tunnels, and address translation, due to the inconsistency between the two versions of the IP (IPv4 and IPv6). IPv4/IPv6 address translation mechanisms are crucial for the coexistence of networks using both protocols, with scalability playing a central role. Although these mechanisms offer advantages such as optimizing addressing space, their ability to scale effectively must be evaluated, especially in demanding scenarios such as voice over IP (VoIP). This article examines the scalability of two mechanisms, network address translation 64 (NAT64) and stateless IP/internet control message protocol (ICMP) translation (SIIT), in terms of VoIP clients in the graphical network simulator 3 (GNS3) environment. The results indicate that the SIIT mechanism is more performant and scalable than NAT64 in all measured parameters.

Abstract

Smart cities are made up of a large number of smart, intelligent gadgets that can sense, compute, act, and communicate. Focusing on how data is transferred between sensory devices and applications in the internet of things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems have led to 5G/IoT integration. This paper proposes a revolutionary architecture for mobile vehicular cloud infrastructure that takes variable weather, road, and traffic circumstances into consideration. It proposes a dynamic speed management system for smart cities. To optimize system flexibility and reduce costs, the system makes advantage of the most recent advancements in wireless communication and utilizes current telecommunication infrastructures utilized in data streaming, sound, and video. The study presents an internet protocol (IP) real-time subsystem-network-based framework for requesting bandwidth from free wireless channel resources using the channell quality indicator channel.

Abstract

Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical activity in muscles during movement. An electromyography machine records the electrical signals from the muscle’s movements as sound waves. EMG signal measurement is used to help doctors make a quick evaluation to identify conditions such as muscle problems; dystrophy and neuropathies. The objectives of this study were to provide a good method that gives proper preprocessing for EMG signals. Often, the EMG signal is corrupted by natural noise, which makes analysis difficult; the new method, namely the empirical wavelet transform, is used to remove this noise and make it clean. The non-stationarity of EMG signals makes the analysis more difficult by the conventional methods such as time domain and frequency domain, which do not give much information about the EMG signals. The time-frequency tool is unavoidable, in this research we used periodogram, Choi-Williams, and smoothed Pseudo Wigner-Ville. The obtained results of the denoising and time-frequency applications demonstrate the high performance of the Periodogram and EWT methods in comparing with other techniques previously published.
