Abstract

Since the Time of Architecture Renaissance, when the concrete was first time to be used as a structure and shaping a façade of the building, until this time of post modern era the concrete was still became a first choices to be used because its strength, its plasticity and its flexibility to support the architectural design, especially in shaping and forming the building design. The concrete technology nowadays with additional advance material in combination, makes the quality of the concrete became more developed to support face of architecture with form and shape. Abstract

The Dutch Colonialism-Imperialism Buildings nowdays can be seen spread spatially at big towns in Indonesia., especially in Makassar, they were seen spread in the every corner of the town, because of Makassar or ujung pandang were one of the biggest port as a portal to east Indonesian region. The Dutch colonialism buildings has a certain form characteristic of Facade as European Architecture style, the originality of it’s facades are changed as well, they are following the environment and climate in indonesia wich is a tropical climate, the changed characteristic and adaptation of facade characteristic it’s will be a subject to discuss ini this journal.

Abstract

One of the highest activities in city of Makassar is Somba Opu region; this is a preserved and maintained region because of its unique character and its local wisdom. The activity in this region was supporting the improvement of tourism and industrial, so it takes a special treatment and specific arrangement on the design and planning of this region from the point of spatial and architectural perspective. Abstract

In Function Follow Form Theory, form is a major focus in the design, making visual acceleration is very important, while the function of the space must be able to follow and set based on pre-existing forms. This theory also spawned the development of concepts forming and shaping a more advanced, such as the superimposition and hybrid. Furthermore, advancing of how to combine and blend adaptively the geometric forms as a free and non free direction. With these forms, the layout planning, configuration and interaction of existing space in the shell form of brutality becoming a special concern in the design, because of the design process will be reversed in the review of its design criteria for a functional space requirements such as air conditioning, lighting, acoustics and flow circulation.
