Abstract

Antiseptic is a chemical substance whose mechanism of action is to destroy microorganisms or inhibit its work so that it can prevent infection. One of the antiseptics is chlorhexidine and alcohol. The method used in this service is the comparative method of several journal sources. A literature study is conducted online by searching for journals. The results of this dedication show that the use of antiseptics and disinfectants to prevent Covid-19 transmission is effective if the selection is right and used according to their purpose. There needs to be further education by health workers to the public to be a preventive measure against the further spread of Covid-19.

Abstract

Inflammation is a response process to tissue injury and infection. The inflammatory response causes the release of pro-inflammatory mediators such as IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-α which are the main cytokines in the acute inflammatory response. Plants that have the potential to be anti-inflammatory are notika leaves (Archboldiodendron calosericeum KOBUSKI). This research was conducted to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract of notika leaves against the levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-a) in wistar mice. This study used a post test only control group design. Using 5 treatment groups, namely positive control (diclofenac sodium), negative control (NaCMC 0.5%), 100 mg/kgBW extract test group, 200 mg/kgBW extract group and 300 mg/kgBW extract group. In vivo tests were carried out by induction of inflammatory substances, administering preparations and measuring TNF-α levels using the ELISA method. Data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test. The results showed that the mean levels of TNF-α in the positive control group (0.475 ng/L), negative control (0.816 ng/L), extract dose 100 mg/kgBW (0.67 ng/L), extract dose 200 mg/kgBW (0.7285 ng/L) and extract dosage of 300 mg/kgBW (0.7785 ng/L). The conclusion obtained is that the ethanol extract of notika leaves has anti-inflammatory activity against the levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-a) in Wistar rats based on the reduction in levels with negative control and the best dose was 100 mg/kgBW.

Abstract

Background: Inflammation is a response process to tissue injury and infection. Purpose: This research was conducted to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract of notika leaves against the levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-α) in Wistar rats. Methods: The study used a post test only control group design. Rats were divided into five groups consisting of a positive control (diclofenac sodium), three extracts (100, 200 and 300 mg/kg BW) and Teeee carragenantrol gopre roups that are inlaporkan dari tanaman ketapang dalam spewa yang dilaporkan pada besar, dll --lar.negative control (NaCMC 0.5%). In vivo tests were carried out by induction of inflammatory using carragenan, administering preparations and measuring TNF-α levels using the ELISA method. Data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test. Results: The results showed that the mean levels of TNF-α in the positive control group (0.475 ng/L), negative control (0.816 ng/L), extract dose 100 mg/kgBW (0.67 ng/L), extract dose 200 mg/kgBW (0.7285 ng/L) and extract dosage of 300 mg/kgBW (0.7785 ng/L). Conclusion: The study concludes that the ethanol extract of notika leaves has anti-inflammatory activity against the levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-α) in Wistar rats based on the reduction in levels with negative control and optimum dose was 100 mg/kgBW.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional issue resulting from prolonged malnutrition during a child's growth and development, leading to impaired physical growth and brain development. The initiative employed an outreach approach conducted as part of a community service program. The objective was to provide the community with direct information regarding stunting, health education, and the family's role in early prevention. The activity took place at the Benu-Benua Community Health Center in Puunggaloba Village, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. The target audience consisted of local mothers with children under the age of five. The program involved presentations covering the definition of stunting, its causes, and prevention strategies. Results indicated active participant engagement and increased awareness regarding the importance of proper child nutrition. However, the findings also revealed that the community's level of knowledge concerning stunting remains low. Therefore, sustained health and nutrition education programs are necessary.
