Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior is a set of behaviors that are practiced on the basis of awareness as a result of learning, which makes a person, family, group or community able to help themselves (independently) in the health sector and play an active role in realizing public health. One of the indicators of Clean and Healthy Lifestyle is Washing Hands with Soap (CTPS). The Covid-19 situation is also forcing all groups to continue to implement clean and healthy living behaviors by washing hands with soap, especially for school-age children. There were 13 cases of diarrhea in elementary school children. The purpose of this service is to provide direction to elementary school children about the importance of CTPS. The results of the pretest and posttest showed that 47 students did not know how to wash their hands properly and correctly.

Abstract

Plastic waste continues to be a problem in many countries around the world. The use of plastic is very common in various types of products. Padang Beach is one of the main tourist destinations in Padang City, but until now there was still a lot of scattered garbage, especially after the rain. The purpose of this activity is to increase the understanding and awareness of coastal communities and the younger generation of the negative impact of microplastics and contribute to cleaning up trash on Padang Beach. The activity methods are participatory counseling and gotong royong. Activities were carried out in January 2023. Participants involved were coastal communities, students, teenagers, and the general public, who were recruited online through social media. The coastal community welcomed this activity and actively participated. There was a significant increase in community knowledge (9%) and attitude (10%) about the dangers of microplastics. It is expected that visitors and beach vendors will be aware of beach cleanliness and refrain from littering. The government is expected to provide waste disposal sites in nearby locations.

Abstract

Vitamin A adalah vitamin larut lemak pertama di ditemukan. Penemuan ini menyatakan semua retinoid dan prekursor/ provitamin A/ karotenoid yang mempunyai aktivitas biologik sebagai retinol. Vitamin A berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Kekurangan vitamin A (KVA) meningkatkan resiko terserang penyakit infeksi seperti diare, radang paru-paru, pneumonia dan bahkan kematian. Akibat lain yang paling serius dari kekurangan vitamin A (KVA) adalah rabun senja. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memperluas pemberian informasi mengenai penting dan manfaat pemberian vitamin A. Kegiatan ini berupa sosialisasi dan penyuluhan yang diberikan kepada ibu yang mempunya balita diwilayah kerja Puskesmas Lubuk Begalung. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh sebanyak 15 orang ibu balita tidak mengetahui manfaat vitamin A dan tidak mengetahui jadwal pemberian vitamin A. oleh karena itu sosialisasi dan penyuluhan ini perlu terus dilakukan agar program bulan vitamin A dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan berkesinambungan.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology on the one hand has had a positive impact on the development of people's lives. However, on the other hand, it also brings negative effects on adolescent development, especially pornography. The effects of online media have the potential to cause conflict by confirming negative stereotypes. The purpose of this PKM activity is to educate teenage students about the negative effects of watching pornographic content. This activity is carried out by providing educational socialization and informing how to block pornographic advertisements that appear on Google. The results of the activity found that as many as 96 students of public high schools and 56 students of private high schools knew the bad effects of the content. Then as many as 102 public high school students and 75 private high school students said that pornographic content advertisements often appear in the Google browser.
